      Senseless Rants - 13 Sept 12
Recent events have ignited the fire in me to actually get my opinion out, and to more than just a few people in my immediate surroundings. The level of hate and anger I see all around astounds me, and usually over things that do not really matter in the longer term, or would be forgotten about within a short amount of time if they were not sensationalized and used to instigate fear. The video and riots are more than likely just the crisis of the week, so to speak, and something new, and even more horrendous will more than likely rear its head to make everyone quiver in fear within a month's time. I feel that the video itself was crap, poorly made in the first place, and very poorly redubbed in the second. Does the "maker" have the right to his opinion and to express it? Yes, he does. That is what we Soldiers are fighting to protect, these people's rights to be imbeciles. The big question that he failed to either ask himself, or that he answered wrong, is, "Should I make this video, knowing that an entire culture will be pissed." My opinion is that, no, he should not have. And not just on the basis of possible offense, but simply for the fact that it makes him look ignorant and foolish, and now, sure he is famous, but not for anything with any sort of meaning or positive impact. He is famous for being the first class moron that managed to instigate the killing of four US citizens, destruction of thousands of dollars of property, and the upset of a perilous peace in a tense area of the world. Good job, Numbskull.

On the flip side, the fact that that one stupid crappy video could cause supposedly peaceful, religious people to lose their minds like this is just appalling. Why would you, just because one idiot decided to be himself and remake an already bad video worse? Yes, it speaks against your profit, and it was uncalled for. But, the embassies and the people working there had less than nothing to do with it. You say that the world should not judge you by the action of a few extremists. Fine, no problem, that I can handle. The door swings both ways, sahib, and one dork's misguided idea of funny satire does NOT reflect the thoughts and actions of the whole, the same as the actions of eleven terrorists do not dictate the intent of Islam, as you say. The video was stupid, but on its own HARMLESS. No innocent Muslims died from it, just innocent Americans. Place that in your hookah, smoke it, and think on it for a while.

I know no one of the Islamic faith is likely to read this. This is mainly just a test run for something that may become a more regular thing. Please let me know what you think about this, either what I wrote or if I should do more of a blog type thing to voice opinion and bring discussion.

Ya know, it is so hard to believe that these crazy guys have been doing, what ecentually amounts to playing video games and recording it, for over 6 years. What is hard to belive, at least at first glance, is that it has not only lasted this long, but grown to such gigantic proportions. It is only hard to believe until you actually watch more than a few episodes, and actually see the way it has grown and changed over the years, both as the guys have gotten a better feel for putting it all together, and how the game itself has evolved over the course of the seasons.

What started out as a 6 episode joke, has turned into a worldwide epidemic of humor, felt all over, bringing laughter to everyone that partakes. I know that me personally, it was these lunatics and their creation that made a deployment in Iraq bearable, not just for me, but for several of my friends that were with me. Thank you, RT. You guys rock!! On behalf of the United States Military, I salute you and thank you for your support.

I only ask this question cause I have been noticing alot of hate going out to new people here. I only signed up here cause I thought I could talk and chat with people that liked RvB as much as I do. And I have been able to find quite a bit of that, thanks. But I also have noticed a trend, and it is not just here at RT.com. I have seen the same thing at forums all aound the net.

That thing is people coming in and trashing on anyone they can find the least little fault in, or who they just don't happen to agree with. Anyone who is just a bit different is slammed. I understand that the majority of people signed in at RvB are under the age of 25, maybe even under 21. And I know that everyone thinks they know everything at one point in time or another. I am just here to tell you what 30 years of life and 8 1/2 years in the army has taught me. I don't know a DAMN THING about life. Atleast, not like I once thought I did.

I have worked with many people from all walks of life, and I have learned that everyone is different, and that is a good thing. If everyone was the same, the world would be very boring. I know this cause I have met people that think everyone should be like them. Thank God we are not. I would kill myself if I was just like them.

So, the next time you want to jump on someone cause of their spelling, their comment (free opinion, everyone's American right), whatever, just stop and think, "What do they think about me? How will I come off if I say that like that?" Instead of dropping bombs on the 'noobs', we should help them out some and kindly point out mistakes, not rail on them just cause the typed something wrong (or it may be right and your just a jerk-off). Think on it.
