    • Slane - A unique experience

I am tired. I am a bit achy and I got soaked to the bone by torrential rain on Saturday. Was it all worth it though? You better believe it.

Getting up for work was a bit of a task, the body was still recovering from a weekend that I planned entirely around the concert at Slane Castle last weekend.

What a gig it was. Two decent homegrown acts in The Strypes and Ash, followed by Hozier who seems to be taking over the world right now, and it is easy to understand why, he was amazing live. It's incredible to think he was just the third act of the day, he could easily be headlining massive festivals on his own right now.

It was some point during Hozier's session when the rain started to fall. The Kaiser Chiefs followed and done a pretty good job of warming up the main event, and what a main event it was.

I had heard legends told of Foo Fighters live gigs being epic and incredible affairs. They weren't lying, to say the least. I was lucky enough to get a pit pass, and I don't think I would have enjoyed the gig as much if I wasn't there. It was almost It certainly isn't recommended for people who are terribly out of shape, I genuinely got to a point where I could almost hear my legs saying they could mosh no more.

Getting up and out of the tent the next morning was a bit of a challenge, but once again - worth it!

If you can go to a gig featuring either Hozier or Foo Fighters, or when the next Slane concert comes around (depending on the line-up), you would be a fool not to go along. I think Hozier is due to announce a pre-Christmas tour shortly that will likely feature in Ireland, UK and possibly the US so it would worth your while keeping a lookout for an announcement.

This also happened afterwards, when everyone obviously hadn't had quite enough just yet: www.youtube.com/watch?v=qADOIxlyWec

    • GGG Anniversary

I think it would be most rude of me to let this occasion go by without any acknowledgement.

It has been a year to the day since a certain group was given life. That group being the Good Guy Gamers.

After a brief encounter in the forum with one of our all mighty, all powerful founders, @AllAlexi, I found myself purchasing Xbox Gold membership again for the first time in what felt like forever after telling me about the plan to set up GGG. It proved to be a sound investment that I certainly have never looked back on.

I never thought I would meet and chat with the people through Rooster Teeth the way I have done with the fine people who associate themselves with GGG. I have interacted with people from different corners of the earth and every conversation, whether it be hilarious and insane (99.9% of the time) or deadly serious, have been truly superb.

It would be an understatement to say it is full to the brim with great characters. They all bring their own unique personality and sense of humour to the table and it all blends very nicely together.

At risk of leaving someone out, I won't go into naming names, but I believe you all know who you are and many you have already written your own similar journal entries. You are an awesome bunch of people. Never change!

Now, let us party *pops open the cham-paggin*

Today marks the occasion of my first Rooster Teeth Anniversary. A most joyous celebration.

      3b1.gif

Therefore, I felt I should probably post my first journal in what has felt like forever.

I had been watching Rooster Teeth content online for the best part of five months before I signed up and I suppose I came here in order to contribute more to the community and become more involved in whatever way I can.

I feel in some ways I have, others not so much. Within about a week of joining the RT site, I stumbled upon a group that was still in an early blossoming stage, a humble little community of gamers who go by the name of the Good Guy Gamers.

Being a part of this group has introduced me to a hell of a lot of fantastic people. Due to a couple of different circumstances, my time with them was cut off significantly after a few months, but contact has been re-established in the last few weeks and I feel very much a part of it again!

      giphy.gif

I suppose I should probably try and become more involved in other aspects where time allows. One being to become more involved in the Irish RT community. I would love to become more connected to my fellow members on this here island so it I guess it is up to me to show the initiative and try and settle into the RT community of my people.

Anyway, thank you for reading and here's to another fantastuc year on the site!

      Now, back to the festivities

    • Song of the Week and Congratuwelldone

I always seem to have a 'Song of the Week' since I started my job. One song that is essentially on an endless loop and gets me flying through the week. The only downside of course being I've become sick of hearing a few of them. Oh well, good things must come to an end and all that noise.

Also, congratulations to @AshleyBren on becoming the new featured user here on Rooster Teeth. I think I echo the sentiments of many when I say I've met an awesome friend in Ash since becoming a part of this community, as well as many others who will hopefully claim their rightful place as the featured user in future!

Anyway, this week's audio pleasure: www.youtube.com/watch?v=my6bfA14vMQ

I was in need of a pick-me-up lately and re-discovered a most amazing video.

The magic that was King of the Mountain - GGG style.

I am giving this another plug, it is just such an endless source of laughter.

Thank you @Woodlehh for sharing this gift with the world. And of course @AlmostAndy @ShadowDex @Spuddix @Killerkel and @JonnyCarlyle for all being part of the madness on that fateful night.

If you haven't watched it already, please do. Thank yous won't be necessary.

I am now 21 years of age.

Within an hour and a half of entering a new phase of life, I somehow managed to hurt my back when I sneezed. My old age issues are clearly setting in alarmingly early.

The big boy pants are well and truly on now. Time to be responsible and no longer use being a stupid kid as a valid excuse for being *an irresponsible idiot

*I will probably still be an idiot doing stupid things to some degree.

Considering I was shamefully late wishing @AshleyBren a happy birthday, I guess I should do this now before I forget.

First and foremost, I hope everyone is having a fantastic Festivus :)

I'm finding it hard to believe Christmas Eve is upon us already, this year has gone by way too fast. A lot has happened, its had its bumps but I think this is a year I'll be looking back on mostly with fondness.

One of the things I have been most grateful for this year has been the friends I made on here through the Good Guy Gamers.

I won't be naming anyone because there is simply too many to tag, but you know who you are and I thank you all greatly for some utterly brilliant nights spent on GTA, Minecraft, RDR, Cards Against Humanity among others and I sincerely hope there will be a glorious return of 360 game nights for stubborn cheapskates like me not yet ready for next gen consoles :p

So, in conclusion, I hope you all have a pretty rocking Christmas and New Year and may 2015 be an even bigger and better year for everyone!

I'm disappointed to discover your in-game home is not a Mansion of Nip... yet!
