As physically different as the Mountain and Arctic Goliaths are from one another, Clan and Imperial Orklin are even more different in other ways. They both have pointed ears, more so than Mana-born, and skin in varying shades of green with yellow in the sclera of their eyes. Clan Orklin though have a more sickly yellow in their eyes due to their poor dietary and hygienic practices while Imperial Orklin have a more golden yellow. The barbaric Clan Orklin have a chief-oriented power structure while Imperial Orklin have a much more complicated power structure under the Emperor, the Warlord, and the Grand Dragon of Shinto ke Tashda, the Empire of Blades. As a whole, magical talent is a rarity among the Orklin, gifted Clan Orklin becoming dangerously wild self-taught Shamans, while in the Empire an Orklin who shows magic talent will be sent to the Academia on the Empire’s money, raising the status of their family in society, possibly even raising them from the commoner class to the nobility class depending on the skill of the magically gifted. Though in the Empire physical strength isn’t the only way to gain status and respect, it is a major factor amongst all Orklin just as it is among the Gryphon people. Clan and Imperial Orklin are feared and respected for their martial prowess, Clan Orklin being unmatched archers and Imperial Orklin being the greatest blade-masters in the World.

When an Orklin trader heading to a Gnomish city became lost on the paths, his comrades believed him dead. He turned up a few days later with Shadow Madness, repeating an odd phrase, over and over again, “100 tin men, sitting in the dark. Click-buzz, click-buzz, sky-blue spark.” It was believed to just be random gibberish for decades until a Gnomish exploration team came upon the City of Steel, home to 100 mechanical men, seemingly sentient machines, with sky-blue eyes. Before long, there was a stable, friendly peace between the Gear council of the Gnomes and the ruling body of the Clockwork Men, the Mark I council. For hundreds of years there has been peace between the Gear Council, the World above, and the Mark I council of the mysterious 100 Clockwork Men, though many wonder about their origin, and the secret technologies they guard for the sake of the World, both above and below.

The native, sentient species of the Skylands, are one of the more interesting species that walk the paths of the World… or fly, as the case may be. They are a race of natural shapeshifters, able to swap at will between a form like that of an eagle mixed with a lion, the forelegs and head like an eagle’s while the rest of the body resembles that of a lion. Their other form is similar to that of a Mana-born, or the humans of old at first glance. Their eyes remain avian in nature and their fingernails are darker than a Mana-born’s due to the fact that they still retain their almost blade-like sharpness and durability. Their ‘hair’ is actually extremely fine feathers while their teeth are much sharper than a Mana-born’s, almost lion-like in nature. While in flight, they are able to move at incredible speeds. Gryphon arcane practitioners are known as Silver Feathers due to their characteristic silver-colored feathers at birth and they are capable of casting spells that allow them to manipulate wind and weather, usually to increase their speed. Gryphon culture is mainly matriarchal with the females being naturally faster and thus deadlier than males, the females mainly taking government and military positions. Males however serve a great role as leaders in the arts, diplomatic ventures, and spiritual leaders as well.

The Mana-Born – The Mana-born are the most widespread race in the world, and unlike other races, all Mana-born are born with magical ability, but skill level varies depending on the individual, though strongly gifted Mana-born tend to give birth to equally gifted children. Traits characteristic to Mana-born are slightly canted eyes, long, slightly pointed ears, and an usual variety to eye and hair colors. Also, the eyes of Mana-Born have a white pupil, black sclera, and the iris has a glow to it depending on the color. The Mana-born kingdom of Trinity, named in honor of the Immortals for whom they hold almost religious devotion towards, is one of the World’s largest kingdoms, second only to the Empire of Blades in size and the Gryphon City-States in military might. The Mana-born are also regarded as having the largest amount of political power due to the immense influence they have in Imperia, specifically the Academia, where the magically gifted of all races learn, since most of the professors there are Mana-born, including the Dean, the Arch Magus.
