So, RTXAU just happened this past weekend…
So there’s already a lot of banter and comments by attendees on the Facebook page, but he’s just my thoughts and my impression of RTXAU.
So, as this most con, the first day, the line to get in was HUGE! Actually even the second day, I was there probably an hour early, and the queue was already curling up. But that I expected. Actually, just to shorten the journal a bit, the lines for autographs and photos were like that too…just HUGE and long lines. On the first day, I managed to line up and get photos and autograph with Gus and Matt, and that was with my wife’s help in lining up for me for Matt. The second day, I lined up for Geoff, one hour before his session, and then an hour during his session, and even then, I didn’t even get to see him, because he ran over his session time.
I was disappointed…to the point, I gave up lining up for Burnie and Joel. As disappointing as it is, I guess what impressed me is how BIG RoosterTeeth has grown over the years. I’ve been there since the beginning when RvB started, and now…they have such a big fan base ranging across, RvB, RWBY, AH, FunHaus. They have had such a big impression in our lives…it’s hard for them to keep up with the fan-dom.
It is definitely impressive to see how big the Rooster Teeth has grown. To have such a big crowd rock up because of RoosterTeeth….most impressive!
Oh, another thing that stood out was how well behaved people were to the Guardians. In other cons, the volunteers get totally trashed by people. But at RTX, the Guardians were very well respected….and that was good to see.
But yeah, from what I have heard around the place, most ppl didn’t have issues with the RT crew, the guests, the Guardians….they were more iffy about the general running of the event and also the venue…which is good…the complaints aren’t about the ppl….
Anyways..after this whole weekend…I did make me wonder….can u be too old for RoosterTeeth? I felt that the demographic were mostly teens or young adult (uni age)….i definitely felt my age queuing up in lines…physically, my legs were so tired and sore from standing the whole time…as well as just seeing everyone there….
I don’t know…I do definitely respect the RoosterTeeth crew and all the content they churn out…may be I’m just too old for cons….well, they’ve announced for next year…definitely like to go, but not so sure at the moment…but we’ll see….
Well, I’ve got some photos…but might post them on later….
anyways…LazerTeam on Wednesday night…..gotta get ready for that!
