You are probably a terrible and unimaginative poster who will probably post terrible kneejerk, off the cuff responses to this thread.

I had a chance to see an advance copy of this independent documentary where I work since it involves aspects of my job, but I was really taken with it. It's about the area in which I used to live, and it really made me rethink how I used to view the area as a place with little significance. Anyways, here is some info from the site and a youtube link to their trailer. I don't know when or if it is ever going to go into circulation but I would probably watch it again if it came to a theater or neighbourhood near me.

The official blurb from the Official site
"Arid Lands is a documentary feature about the land and people of the Columbia Basin in southeastern Washington state. Sixty years ago, the Hanford nuclear site produced plutonium for the atomic bomb dropped on Nagasaki, and today the area is the focus of the largest environmental cleanup in history. It is a landscape of incredible contradictions. Coyotes roam among decommissioned nuclear reactors, salmon spawn in the middle of golf courses, wine grapes grow in the sagebrush, and federal cleanup dollars spur rapid urban expansion.

Arid Lands takes us into a world of sports fishermen, tattoo artists, housing developers, environmental activists, and radiation scientists living and working in the area. It tells the story of how people changed the landscape over time, and how the landscape affected their lives."

I was really wanting my Sponsorship to finally become void. Good riddance to it, I say. Didn't need that hanging over my head. So what is there to tell now that it's all said and done? I see the site continues to be bereft of mostly anything that I consider interesting . That's okay though. Differing opinions on the matter, really. It's really just another sign that I'm moving on. I'm glad I can continue to mock this site from the comfort of other realms, but I'm even more glad that I really don't care enough to do that much nowadays. Everything else is as it should be, aside from a few stragglers who don't post as often as they should in the other place (some are more welcome than others, I might add, but don't let that be discouraging). So I am content to have had my time here, maybe check up on it from time to time to chart it's progress (or degression, as it were), and go to other other places to get my entertainment, friendship, and info. If anyone still has bitter feelings over the whole debacle of the last few months, than let me consider it Schadenfreude, and leave it at that.

What else? I guess I can say I am happy at how well I did in my classes last quarter. My writing instructor, Charles R. Johnson, is a great guy and a very good writer to boot. Check out his stories Middle Passge and "China".
Spring Quarter should be even more interesting, as I am taking the highest tiered writing courses that is available to undergraduates, and my Senior Seminar should be quite intriguing as well, as it's concerned with Australian literature and how Australia obtained the image they have today.

Anyways, I hope more of you decide to join us in the future, as even though we are having all sorts of fun hanging out and discussing all sorts of topics, more people can add to the flavor of discussion, and that is most usually a good thing. But please, try and bring something more to the table than what is currently being served here...

So, it's nerdcon '06 up in canadaland.

Everyone is pretty cool, and I am having a good time. Sakur's parents are way too understanding and nice.

Show got a picture of canadian bacon, and we laughed. Good times had by all.

Although, it was a harrowing experience going through the border. I should have brought a copy of my birth certificate, but they thought a white guy, a black guy, and an asian girl who all met through the internet were pretty damn suspicious.

      Stuff Happened
More stuff happened I got stuff, it was good.

I'm not really at this site too much anymore. Two reasons for this:

A lot of good people are gone, and this site isn't very entertaining save for a few.
Also, I've gotten back into WoW, so, I apologise for being weak : (

On the "stuff I got front", I pretty much knew what I was getting from everyone.

      Books wise, I got:
Flannery O'Connor - The Complete stories (I also really want to get Wild Heart (edit:eppy has informed me that is Wise Blood) or whatever it's called that has Hazel Motes)
Lorrie Moore - Birds of America
      Charles D'Ambrosio - The Point
Tom Robbins - Still Life with Woodpecker

plus this really neat Men Of American Letters series that my dad got me. It's all these old essays about Melville and Whitman and such.

everything else I got was your standard fare.
Have a good new years everyone.

you made a blurb on the CTRL+ALT+DEL thread which was completely uncalled for, sir. just because most of the regulars on the thread find that CAD sucks recently, it doesn't mean you can go about calling us names that don't even make sense.

Went to a pretty shitty school.

I don't go there anymore, but am still friends with the theater director.

And it's not a shitty school, they just hire some incredibly stupid people.

So I was watching the V for Vendetta preview again today, and you know what I realized?

Part of the reason it looks so not good is because it's obviously going to stray a lot from the comic.

The only things that actually look bad are the fight scene when he rescues Evey, the shot of him jumping off the tower, and him throwing knives at the end.

The rest looks okay, so long as they don't make the story shitty, which I have a feeling they will.

Oh, and his hat is too short.
