I remember when this game was announced and I was ecstatic. I couldn't wait and was hyped up for an Aliens game that would be awesome. A few days ago it released to a vast amount of negativity that wasn't unfounded. The game is a little buggy, the graphics aren't amazing, but I like it.

Single player has the most issues. There are many little things that happen that just can't be put into details, but most revolve around small glitches that just make you look at your TV dumbfounded and say "What the fuck?" At first I noticed the bugs and went "Ok...this kind of blows" but after playing for a little bit, I'm actually really enjoying it. Sure the voice acting isn't the greatest, nor is the AI the smartest in video game history, but it reminds me of old school gaming. I got a sense of nostalgia going though the corridors picking up ammo, armor and health packs. It sent me back to 1996 when I originally played Doom and Doom II on the PC. I rarely get moments like that in video games and this one did that, so bravo.

Multiplayer is where this game is probably at it's highest. While yes, there are still a few issues; I still find it really enjoyable. The Marines and the Aliens are both pretty evenly matched, and the maps range from tight corridors to open areas with some cover. If you have a good team, you can easily kick the crap out of the opposing side. One of my biggest issues is multiplayer host. Host is near unstoppable if he/she is competent with the game. If the host is a sore loser and decides to rage quit, well there goes the game. The host does not migrate to a different player. Instead, it kicks everyone back to the menus. Another thing, Aliens are controlled in third person. I personally would like to be in first person as climbing on the walls would be MUCH easier. Regardless, I still rack a ton of kills with them, so the point is moot.

The challenges are challenging, and I'm not sure if voice chat works, as I've never heard anyone talk yet. Either way, I enjoy this game. I have always been a huge Aliens fan and while this may not be the game of the year, it still is pretty good to me. My suggestion is if you want to play it, wait for it to go on sale. It shouldn't take too long with the reviews it's getting. Then you can see for yourself. I, on the other hand, have more xeno's to kill.

      Stay Frosty.

There is something I have always wanted to do with a group of friends but it will be a very daunting and extremely frustrating task, but I think it would be a very satisfying feeling after we are complete.

What I am talking about is running through Halo 4 campaign on Legendary with all skulls turned on. Legendary was challenging and fun but the skulls will raise the bar ten fold. That Iron skull is a bitch when running solo. Death means restarting the level. I don't know about the others that played Legendary Solo, but I died way too many times, and going back to the beginning doesn't sound appetizing. So a group of friends will make it (slightly) easier with checkpoints rat

So, anyone want to step into the insanity that is LASO with me?

About a week ago I was laying on my couch playing video games as I often do. I was in a multiplayer game, concentrating hard on winning the match. I remember that my teammates were rather incompetent and my anger levels began to peak. After losing the game I turned off my game and rested my head back on the armrest just staring at the ceiling. That’s when I saw movement from the corner of my eye. It looked like a dark shadow had scuttled across my room. My head flicked in the direction of the movement, but nothing was there. I figured it was just my eyes and the light playing tricks on me, but uneasiness had crept into the back of my mind. It wasn’t enough to stop me from sleeping, and I had dozed off.

A few days later I was on a skype call with a friend. We hadn’t spoken for a while so it was nice to catch up on all the cool things that we have been doing. During the call, they kept on telling me they were seeing some movement behind me. It didn’t make any sense, as there was a wall directly behind me. They said they saw a figure, but I couldn’t see anything on my webcam image. I passed it off as an error on their computer, but that uneasiness returned. A dreadful thought passed through my mind. That possibly, that dark shadow I had seen previously was something more. We said goodbye and I went to my bedroom. I didn’t fall asleep as easily as before.

I woke up that night to the creaking of my closet door. In the darkness and half awake, I looked towards my closet. In the shadows I saw it. The figure. The spindly legs of fear prickled down my spine. The figure didn’t move, it didn’t even have any features. It just stood in my closet. I pulled the sheets over my head and willed myself for other thoughts. Terror had stricken me and all I could focus on was that featureless figure. The dark shadow that is probably moving towards me as I hide myself under my covers. I squeezed my eyes shut with the covers still over me. I stayed like that all night until my alarm rang. I slowly peaked out of my covers. Sunlight peered through the blinds of my window. I looked at the closet and it was closed.

The next few days were fine. I didn’t see anything unusual. I even steeled myself to look in the closet. Nothing but clothes hanging and extra blankets. Nothing scary. Nothing dark and ominous, just an ordinary closet. I tried to get on with myself. Going to work normally, playing video games and going out with friends, but I had a feeling that the darkness was still lurking in my apartment.

Two days ago I returned home late from work. I unlocked the door and entered my apartment. Darkness. I felt a pit open up in my stomach and my heart plummet through it. I flipped the switch next to the door and as light flooded the room my heart jumped into my throat. The figure was standing in the hallway. It was no longer a shadow, it was a girl, but it was distorted. Her arms were bent at odd angles, despite hanging loosely at her side. Hair covered her face and my heart pounded. I didn’t want to see her face. She started tilting her head to look at me. Her hair began to part as it rose higher and higher. I screamed, squeezing my eyes tight. But I already saw it. Her mouth had no lips and no visible teeth. She didn’t have a nose; it was like flesh had completely grown over where her nose should be. But most disturbing, her eye sockets were empty, like staring into an empty void. I feared what would happen when I opened my eyes. I thought I felt her warm breath next to my face. ‘Go away’ I repeated to myself. I dared a glance and found myself standing alone in my living room. I turned on every light in my apartment. Just to be safe. I didn’t sleep at all.

Paranoia has taken its toll. I am seeing the girl everywhere. She seems to exist in my peripheral vision. Like when a car passes you on the highway, but you didn’t see it in your side mirrors. She is just waiting for me when I’m not paying attention. She is in the corners of my eyes, and I can’t sleep. I know when I close my eyes she’ll be there when I open them again. I can’t do that. I don’t know how much longer I can avoid her gaze. Those empty sockets. Always watching.

      Hello friends!

I've been rather busy preparing for the holidays and finishing up class, this is why I haven't been online much. I've also been in a mini funk where I just kind of want to be alone for awhile. I think I just really need my batteries recharged and I hope seeing my family again will do that.

So that is where I have been, but I will actually be leaving tomorrow, I am going to New York for Christmas. I won't be back until the beginning of January. I just want to wish everyone a happy holiday. To cherish the time with family and friends and be warm and happy when all the meteors come crashing into the planet you are sitting around laughing and enjoying the time together. I know that I am blessed to have friends like you. Have a great holiday, and I'll talk to you in 2013!

True. I get stuff like that a lot. The funny thing is, it just makes the people who do it and their argument look worse.

That's why I said that if you feel the need to neg mod it you probably don't understand it in the caption. Then again, that doesn't make the people who comment on it any smarter...

Right, I always liked the look of N64 games over PS games. And Gamecube games over PS2 games (the GC version of Soul Calibur 2 is all the proof you need to show how much better the system was).

I remember when I had a GC and a PS2, but I knew some day I would buy an xbox. I knew I only wanted it for a few games (like halo2) but I knew I'd be getting it and I did.

Now the PS3, that's a whole 'nother story. If they start putting out every movie on BluRay, I might consider getting one. Might.
If HD-DVD somehow wins out, I'm set because the HD-DVD add-on for the 360 is only $200, which is a friggin' steal for any HD player. None of that will matter for the next year or so, though, since I don't own an HD television. I plan on buying one sooner or later, but even then I don't plan buying an HD player until there's only one format. Personally, I'm leaning towards HD-DVD because it is better and, dude, they're going to have 300 in a few weeks. I almost considered buying or renting stuff JUST so I can see 300 in HD.

      I AM PISSED.

Gears is coming to XP/Vista later this year with 5 new chapters, a new multiplayer gametype and extra multiplayer maps.

Included in those extra chapters you get to fight the big creature that's at the end of the... 3rd? Act, where you're running from the house. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.

It was part of the Microsoft E3 Press Conference and I watched Cliffy B play the boss battle on G4... it looked intense and just makes me mad. I want it for the 360, you know?

I hear you. I got 93 or 94 on one of the last songs on hard but only got 4 stars, I was totally expecting 5. Could have something to do with your score.

    • lefty

Right, especially considering how I can beat Jordan on hard without using star power.

    • lefty

Yeah, I totally get your logic. If what he's saying is true about the songs available for download then the GH2 game itself should cost nearly $150, if not more than that.

thank god. I hate grenades so much.

The one map that focuses on the stairs going up to marcus's dad's house (you know the one, with the snipers and grenades on the bottom) is such a pain because if the people on the bottom have any sense three of them can get grenades so easily and just tag the other team for a relatively easy win.
