During the Summer 2008 season, I created a vehicle-based version of Grifball known as Grifpolo. Recently, a few friends and I dug out the old map and gametype, blew off the dust, and laughed our asses off for a good hour. In furthering the pursuit of good lolz, I hereby announce the 1st Grifpolo Tournament!
This will be a 8-Team Double Elimination Tournament. 16 if demand is great enough. The tournament begins one week from today (Wed, December 10th) at 7pm CST, sign-ups will close 1 hour prior to this. When you sign up, give me a team name and the gamertags of all 6 players (2 alts are allowed) The rules are as follows:
Game Settings (Version 2.0):
Neutral Assault: Instant Arming/Fuse Time, 30 Second Reset Time, Indestructible Vehicles, 9 Rounds.
Carrier Traits: 10% Health, No Shields, 100% Damage, 75% Speed, 200% Gravity, Passenger Only, No Radar
Player Traits: Gravity Hammers, 50% Health, No Shields, 0% Damage, 100% Speed, 100% Gravity, Full Use of Vehicles, Radars - Allies Only
Custom Powerup Traits: 10 Seconds, 100% Damage, 30 Second respawn, Cannot use vehicles. Two CPs are located at each goal for defense purposes.
Offense: Get the ball, get Grif into a warthog, transport him safely to the goal, use hammers to fend off enemy warthogs, protect Grif.
Defense: Smash warthogs with hammer (into other players), grab Grif out of the car, run Grif over/assassinate, use power-ups to defend the goal.
