or something like that. I've had some time to reawaken some childhood fun stuff. And my best friend and I played a game called Puggsy for Sega.

      puggsy-front.jpg

It was an adventure/puzzle game. That's not the important part. The important part is the wonderful soundtrack the game had, well that and Puggsy had nads on his head. So we referred to him as Pugg-Nads. But I did want to share this song with you. If this A) doesn't put you in a good mood or B) get stuck in your head, then C) I'm sorry. (yes this makes sense, just go with it).

      So here it is:

      Puggsy Cove Theme

And if you like it, you can check out the others that are linked to it.

And if you like me, can you tell me how I can get this as a ringtone?

      Have a great weekend.

    • What happens at a bachelor party,

      Huberstank

ends up being summarized on RVB?

My college roomie had his bachelor party this weekend up in the cities. Although I'm not going to tell the whole story, here are a list of highlights. Feel free to connect the dots as you wish.

*Saw the Red Stripe Guy "HOORAY BEER!"

      *Twins Game

*Verbally messed with a Hooters Waitress (played with her intelligence or lack there of)

      *15k Road Race

*Floated down a river on inner-tubes (one of them may have had a cooler)

      *Missed the 1:15am Lightrail

*Watched someone puke in a cab

*Ordered pizza but fell asleep before delivery guy arrived (sorry dude)

*Witnessed 2 distance runners have a UFC fight in the hotel

      *Had an amazing time!

In other news, heading home this weekend for 10 yr HS reunion. Looking forward to catching up with people, and yes, it does make me feel older. Not old, but older.

Have a great rest of week/weekend!

      Hubes OUT!

and just ahead of me was a grandmother with her grandson. The grandson was explaining to his grandmother about money for chicken.

Grandma, if hobo's had a some money, they could get some chicken. It's a really nice day for that

Just ahead of us, sitting in the shade and with in earshot, was a poor man. This poor man preceded to get up and walk away immediately after hearing the comment.

Now I can assure you that the small child had no idea that this person was ahead of us because he was intently staring at the ground watching where he was walking. The grandmother realized what had just happened and veered her grandson in the opposite direction.

Meanwhile, I'm doing my best to bite my lip so I wouldn't noticably be smiling about the comment. As soon as I reached my car and was safely inside, I began laughing at the great moment of randomness that just transpired.

      Moral of the story:
Well, feel free to come up with your own.

So this past year has brought me a new and fun game. We call it the "Sad Panda." This occurs when you lightly karate chop their neck, causing them to look down while crinching - hence the name Sad Panda.

So I did some research and found out there are other definitions acorrding to Urban Dictionary.

There are some funny ones there, although I don't know if I could ever bring myself to abide by those suggestions.

      090204_wulong_sichuan_china_sad_panda_be

When I get back to MN, I'll see if I can post a picture of my "Sad Panda" face.

      Have a great weekend!

      Hey Gang,

Just seeing if I'm still on anyone's watch list. I'm going to try and make more appearances back on the site.

Would love to hear from you all.

Can't get it out. Keep hearing that guitar riff over and over. Stupid radio played it two days in a row. Might go even more insane.

Other news, big weekend of doing nothing. Just gearing up for XC camp which starts on Monday.

Did get a pleasant surprise from Fedex today. Didn't know I had some leftover vacation that they paid out on my last paycheck. So a little extra money is never bad.

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

      Hey hey hey

Guess who's back? That's right, its John Hughes. (too soon?)

I know I've been gone for what probably seems like an eternity and a few of you probably even forgot who I was. That's okay. The internet and I had a really bad breakup. But we've kissed and made up so here I am again.

What's been going on in my life?

      1) Dream Job Achieved - Recently I was hired on as a full time assistant coach and will be paid to have my life revolve around running. This is a hard change of course since my life already revolved around running minus the pay. The other bonus is that I get to quit Fedex (4 days left) which is awesome because I was always getting up at 4:30 to go into work and the work week was Tuesday through Saturday. I missed out on a lot of things because of working Saturdays. So yeah, pay increase, full time benefits, get to focus solely on running and recruiting and get to quit the job I hated. Couldn't have worked out better.

      2) Not Much Else - Been playing in a pool league this summer w/ my roommate (Billards that is). So been spending time at the local pub practicing quite a bit. I'm not great at easy shots, but I've become amazing at a few types of difficult shots. Which angers my roommate b/c he's good and thinks I should be able to make the easier ones too.

      * Back to running full time again. Attempted my 2nd marathon this summer and due to mother nature deciding to turn up the thermastat right before the race, I opted to stop running at mile 18 and call it a day. I had some injuries going into it and so I took time off after that to get healed up. My favorite therapy right now is that I sleep w/ my shoes on to keep my arches from relaxing while I sleep. Otherwise my feet really hurt when I wake up in the morning.

So please fill me in on where your life is at. I've looked over a lot of updates since being back on and left some comments here and there.

I'm going to try and be better (Scout's Honor).

Nothing too exciting is happening. I'm still running distance but I'm starting to love 800s. I'm taking this XC season as more of a test for Track season.... eating habits, warm up habits, etc. My goal is to be running the 4x800 and 4x400 every meet by the second half of the season this year.

My best 800 split is a 2:15(2nd best on the team) and the last 400 i ran i got a 1:03. I realize the 400 is bad, but I've run 1:03 400 splits in my 800s, so I know i can definitely run sub 60s.

XC went well last fall. Had a big improvement from being injured last year and came up with a 26:22 8k. Our team is was shootin for nationals and came up short but still have two more seasons! Summer training!!!

I actually did it a while ago and that's how i ended up beating the game on Expert. I decided i'd try it again since i heard Sweet Child of Mine on the radio the other day.

    • SpudHead

Yeah, i agree with that. I'm kind of afraid injuries might kill me though in any category. If Brady goes down again Moss is suddenly not a first round pick like how i picked him. If/when westbrook goes down i'm depending on my backup and that moss/brady doesn't go down so i still have that W/R slot filled.

      Regardless, i like my team.

    • SpudHead

Ha, ok. i wasn't sure if you thought that as where my RB was a little weaker.

Brian Westbrook i think will win me enough games early before he gets injured so that i can find another replacement for him(maybe trade him before injury) by playoffs.

I actually like my RB's unless Westbrook gets hurt. I guess my W/R spot could use a more talented person, but that's about it.

You probably haven't heard of Pierre Thomas if you don't keep up too much with football. I'm pretty sure he'll have a breakout year with the Saints.

The only thing i'd want to trade for is a third RB or third WR, although i personally really like my WRs. So i'd have to agree with you and probably trade for a RB if i do trade.

Summer has been great so far. I got to meet another college runner i know from the site(lordstanley2) the other day. I've been running a decent amount, although i wish i would be doing it more. I also got my license. That makes me happy.

I am doing XC this year. I think we have a good shot at winning conference as a team but i'm not sure about going to state. It'll be fun to see.

      How's your life been?

    • lefty

I'm not going to say it was great but it was definitely not bad.

It's a movie that fans of the old show who realize how corny and lame it was will appreciate because they went out of their way to bring the old characters into the modern era.

Also, lots of people die which is always a plus.
It has a "Last Action Hero" meets "Shoot 'em Up" vibe because there's a sense of humor to most of the movie yet you can tell there's serious undertones where there ought to be.

It's not going to win any awards but it's really entertaining and they did a great job of not jumping the shark.

I guess it's getting cancelled if one of the following conditions occur:

      It's 42 degrees or colder.

It's slightly above 42 degrees but windy.

I figure rain/snow will also play a factor, but odds are it will be cancelled.

      Yeah.

The 800 i just flat out ran bad, but the 1600 i got cut off by about 5 people to start, one of which is from my school and i should be/conistently do beat by 30+ seconds. Otherwise i ran really good after the start. Next meet is outdoor though, and that's where i thrive.
