    • The Secret Life of Walter Mitty - Movie Forecast

Having read the short story and not particularly caring much for it due to the fact that I was forced to read it in school, but when I heard this was coming out I had zero interest. Needless to say my opinion completely changed after watching the trailer. That is how you make a movie trailer! Ben Stiller and Kristen Wiig in what should be the feel good movie of the holiday season.

      Keep this on your radar!

      Coming 12/25/13

Based on the novel of the same name, this film looks like one of Gatsby's parties gone a bit too far. Martin Scorsese's newest film with DiCaprio, Jonah Hill and Matthew McConaughey is shaping up to be a fun, outlandish time at the movies!

Personally I don't think I will be able to let go of my seat in the theater. Holy mother of God this looks terrifying. George Clooney and Sandra Bullock and it would appear that that's the entire cast. This looks like Open Water set in space! If you are a fan of Open Water, Buried or movies of that same vibe, definitely keep this on your radar.

Ridley Scott's new film with Brad Pitt and Michael Fassbender. Unsure of the plot but oh my oh my this looks gripping. An all star cast with Ridley Scott at the helm, it would appear everything is lining up to be pretty dang good. Keep this one on your radars kids!

The new David O'Russell film after Silver Linings Playbook and The Wrestler. Get pumped because if his previous films are any indication as to the success of this new one, it's going to be incredible. With Bradley Cooper, Amy Adams, Christian Bale, Jeremy Renner and the beautiful Jennifer Lawrence. I could not be anymore excited for this film! A nice final hurrah for 2013!

      Keep it on your radar!

Upon registering for RoosterTeeth's site I got to the point where I could type in my gamertag. Naturally I typed in my gamertag I Am Very Moist. Now apparently that gamertag is already taken? So now here I am with IAmVeryMoist as my gamertag on the site. Unfortunately when I scroll through my profile and page and I come across the Xbox square where my gamerscore and pic would be displayed..it has nothing. So below is a link to my actual Xbox Live profile. Just thrusting that out there for anyone who is interested in gaming or just chatting about tv, movies, and video games:D

      Happy travels,

    • The Purge - Movie Review

"The Purge" starring Ethan Hawke was easily one of my most anticipated movies of the summer. It is a bold statement but the concept of the purge itself was enough for me to be immediately intrigued by the movies interesting premise. Unfortunately however it failed to exceed my already high expectations.

The idea of 12 hours of all crime being legal, to me was something fresh and new. The idea was great but the script and plot began to dwindle down into your very average home invasion thriller. Which is not to say is a bad thing. Granted a number of home invasion thrillers are great (ex. The Strangers). However with such a crazy premise and great acting by Ethan Hawke, Lena Headey, and Rhys Wakefield, it is really just sad that it does not expand and explore more of the concept.

Easily the strongest element of this movie is Rhys Wakefield's sadistically creepy character. Delivering two great monologues that legitimately disturbed me. Ethan Hawke is just as great as usual but never really goes above and beyond. Nor does really anyone. Which all really directs back to the writing which is pretty sloppy. I would be lying if I said I didn't have a good time. On several occasions I jumped, I was on the edge of my seat and I laughed a good amount.

Some will enjoy this more than others, I for one was not blown away like I had anticipated I would be.
It's nothing more than your average home invasion movie.

      I'm giving "The Purge" 6/10

    • The Internship - Movie Review

Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn are back in another comedy...this time it's PG-13.

Most famously these two are known for their partnership in "Wedding Crashers" and in this we see the two applying for an internship at Google. Interesting premise at least for me that is as I am a tech guy so naturally, a lot of the content in this movie intrigued me.

The acting is pretty much as you'd have expected from these two so nothing really new is there. None of the acting however is atrocious. The best way to describe just about all of this movie is "average". The plot, acting, directing, and laughs. It's all average. But that is not to say I didn't have a good time.

This movie knows exactly what kind of movie it is and what audience it is catering to. It does not try to be anything more. And for that it succeeds. I can understand if this is not the type of comedy for certain people. Surprisingly enough it is for me. I happen to enjoy various types of comedies from "Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre", to "Bridesmaids and Anchorman", to more gross out comedies like the "Jackass" series. However my only complaint with the movie is that it is a monorail of predictability. It is very standard and everything you can imagine that will happen...happens.

As I have stated previously, this movie knows what it is trying to achieve and it does it well. It is tailor made to satisfy it's target audience. You'll laugh, you'll groan but overall you should know if this is the movie for you or not. If you know you won't like it...you won't. If you know you will like it then you will.

It's as simple as that. I give "The Internship" a 5.0/10

    • This Is The End - Movie Review

Every year we get a whole new lot of comedies rolling out into cinemas. Rarely ever do they do what "This Is the End" does. "This Is the End" dares to be different, without losing sight of being absolutely side splittingly hilarious!

Seth Rogen, Craig Robinson, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Danny McBride, Michael Cera, Emma Watson and many many others all join together to create one of the funniest comedies I have seen to date. Personally for me after reading the cast for this movie I was very hesitant as most movies with all star casts tend to crash and burn under their own weight (ex. Movie 43). Luckily however, this is really just a bunch of friends getting together to make a hysterical movie and on that it succeeds brilliantly.

It's refreshing that the plot of this movie does not stick to most of the comedies structures that we see all the time, recent example "The Internship". The movie hardly ever takes itself seriously, aside from some scary and graphic scenes. But even then you'll be laughing almost immediately after. The great thing about this movie is that the plot had key points in which the actors would have to get to to progress the story but other than that every line is essentially ad libbed and improved based on all the actors just playing off each other.

Easily the best part of this movie is the inside jokes about the actors. For example James Franco makes jokes and references to his movies such as "127 Hours" and even references to his work with Seth Rogen in "Pineapple Express" and several other movies. You don't need to know their past work but it definitely will increase your appreciation for this movie.

Overall, I can't say for sure that if you don't like any of the actors involved that you will enjoy yourself. But I can say that it is one of the most original and down right raunchy comedies I have seen in a long while. All of the actor's "playing themselves" worked wonderfully and it was a roller coaster of laughs from start to finish.

I give "This Is the End" a 8.0/10
