Yay, the people on the Season 5 Prediction Thread responded to my stuck in radiospace theory in a relatively accepting manner. Yay for something original from me, finally.

But I have another question that may or may not've been asked yet, I want to read more before offering it to the thread.

Maybe Shiela was using her radio to contact whatever is inside the ship when everyone else is babbling trying to guess who or whats in there. Then it wouldn't matter which red had been infected, just that that red was a rest stop before O'Malley seized the chance to be a tank.

But why would Shiela have an extra A.I. slot? Geurfurgindurglers!!!

    • Overdrive/ Season 5 Predictions Thread

      IdriveSHEILA

So I affectionately named a fella at work "Donut." Acts just like him. And spent more time thinking about the stuff I've read on the forums more than the work I was actually doing.

This whole Vic theory, for whatever reason, has me ticked off. And I can't say anything about it on the Season 5 Predictions thread because those guys are like "anyone have something to say that we havent heard already?" I'm trying hard to catch up so I dont repeat stuff but I just havent gotten thru all 280 some pages. I'm working on it but its gonna take a while. Anyway, I'm ticked off about Vic (and the theories) for the following reasons (which havent been said on my journal before so its not reposting):

Vic (original) was sterile (episode 20, I think). How is he anyone's great great great great great great and thensome more great grandfather? That just frustraites me because its seems like the series lost continuity regarding Vic.

I put that aside because there is infact a Vic Jr that we see in season 4. Now we know that there is something up (I know I'm stating the obvious here but I have to show my train of thought) because Vic Jr is like ha ha very funny about there being a "blue command". So we're all thinking the wars over.

The reds then listen to the recording of the original Vic via Lopez and translator Andy. So it'd make sense that Vic's telling them to fight caz that was recorded when the war was still happening. Then Sarge tries to get ahold of Command (he never specifies what color he is to Vic Jr) and asks for reinforcements. The conversation ends with, "Command, you still there?" No response. So we don't know that there was or was not further dialogue. I percieved there was not. Vic doesn't seem to matter much beyond there being some catching up to do. However the people on this thread I mentioned say that Vic Jr was trying to fool the Reds or something when Sarge makes contact and that hes coming to be some big deal and/or maybe O'Malley's in him.

I feel that these theories are rooted in practically nothing, other than the few instances I've already mentioned. I don't understand how these people are getting this and although they seem to be so sure and its so brilliant, I'm just frustraited and thinking what the heck?

Lastly,if the last color (which we all know is green, by now) is wasted on Vic Jr, I'll probably cry myself to sleep because it would be jsut that, a waste. He's just a face to represent command. Someone to think of when the question "whos running this army" and no one that needs to come down to blood gulch or the cave for any reason. If anything, wouldnt the guys go to Command? Now I know that Vic Jr being on the radio could make him susceptible to O'Malley, but Tex exclusively says in season 2 I think that the AI could only infect via helmet radios. Even with no response from Vic, making it seem like O'Malley got him, he was not wearing a helmet radio. An earbud at best.

Those are my thoughts so far and since I've not finished my homework of reading the 230 pages I havent yet, its all I feel I have the liberty to do.

-Edit at 9% of reading Season 5 Predictions Thread-
Ok, someone on like page 21 said Vic would be a good candidate for O'Malley to escape the confines of Blood Gulch. However, I will accept this theory only if he stays in Vic and out of the picture for many many episodes. This gives time for all the other stuff to resolve. There is a definite end to RvB according to Burnie, and they won't leave us hanging, although the do not make it clear how many seasons it will take. I think O'Malley can only leave his interests (Tex) and go to Vic Jr if it means he succeeds in destroying everything and ending the series. Of course it wouldnt drop at everything being destroyed, but we would see that the box canyon functioned quite well as a fall out shelter to the end of the world. They would all realize they were all that survived and it would be up to Tucker and Sister and Church and Tex to repopulate the world. And it would end at that or with them just saying screw it, and continuing life as normal since its all they have left. Last scene being, "You ever wonder why we're here?" Reply, "Because the whole freaking world is gone and somebody upstairs hates me and wanted me to die in this canyon. Die of your stupid questions and butt kissing. Its why we're here, and it keeps me up at night."

-Edit at 11% of reading Season 5 Predictions Thread-
So I was totally hating on this guy tucker 29 because he was shutting me down anytime I tried to say anything or ask anything on there. But on page 27, his first post and everything else he says on that page is very agreeable for me. I think I was just frustraited cause I was new to the thread. I actually admire this guy a bit now.
I guess its true that O'Mally could be in Vic Jr.s computer, since Vic Jr himself has no helmet radio. I accept that a little more. I still don't see how any of this would cause Vic to come to blood gulch in green armor tho.
I've been reading this thread so long now that I don't even care where O'Malley went. Then again, I'm gonna keep reading so I must care a little.

#8392: Hey, since everyone keeps griping that I'm here too late and am repeating things, I'm reading this WHOLE thread. I'm only to page 28 right now but I have to ask this because I haven't read it anywhere yet. Is it possible that O'Malley is stuck in the air? Like he calculated chances of surviving in Donut were crap, like you all said, and ditched him, but just didn't get to land because all the radios were off at that point? Or does O'Malley HAVE to be in someone to survive? I just remember the beepity beep beeps right before Doc got infected way back. Infection isn't instant, theres radiowavethingy travel time lag that we should think about.
If someone has already said this too, be nice. I deserve brownie points for my endeavors in reading 280 pages in order to have a better educated opinion.

    • Meeting Online Friends: Terms&Conditions

      IdriveSHEILA

The RT community is a very warm, fun-loving collection of interesting people. Due to members of the site being so facinating, opportunities have come and gone for some of us to meet some of our closest RT community friends. I have met tucker29, cabose95, and sniperfidy in person and excellent memories are the result of our meeting. However, safety is first when meeting strangers. Therefore, I've made a list of things I consider before meeting people I know only from online. I encourage you to be safe about meeting online friends as well.

smiley9.gif 1. First and foremost: If you're actually a professional serial killer or something else to that gruesome effect, please feel free to take the weekend off duty when you meet. I'd rather the meeting not go down like a bad teen movie. hehe.

smiley9.gif 2. Plan to first meet in front of people. For example, I met tucker29 at an IGA where people could assist him or I if either of us had tried to kidnap the other.

smiley9.gif 3. It is best to take a buddy along at least for the first visit - Safety in numbers!

smiley9.gif 4. If possible, have your own car or form of transportation and key with you and ready at all times, in the event you would need to escape from a threatening situation.

smiley9.gif 5. Make safe sleeping arrangements for over night trips, preferably at least in a different room and with other people in the house who could help you if anything were to come up.

smiley9.gif 6. THE MOST IMPORTANT SAFETY CONCERN that I feel people are irresponsible with: If you are afraid of being in a threatening situation, avoid meeting online friends with usernames such as hawtmomma4u* or ladiesmandude* or various other names that say "hey, my mind is in the gutter."

smiley9.gif 7. Remember, meeting online friends under the premise of "friends" rather than significant others avoids putting yourself in a potentially more hazardous situation. Both parties should verify with each other prior to meeting to say that they don't have any smiley12.gifcrazy romantic smiley12.gif ideas in their heads AND that neither side feels like some wild "exception" to the don't-date-internet-strangers-cause-thats-scary-and-crazy rule. Now, I understand people hook up online all the time... If/when you meet you discover they are the same cool dude or dudette in person that they are online, then you can worry about cooties (YUCK) and such.

This is the list I follow and is not neccessarily the best out there, but so far I've met six online friends and am about to meet one more, and I've been safe (despite my college friends saying I'm sure to get kidnapped... lol). I hope you have such healthy and rewarding experiences meeting your friends as I have had meeting mine. smiley12.gif

*those usernames were made up on the spot and if they coincidentally belong to you or someone you know, you might be putting off signals telling people online that you're a little perverted... I'd apologize but its your own fault for picking such a dumb name..... lol.

And I've got one watcher, which makes me feel also stalk-worthy. I was just wondering if theres any way I can find out who it is. <3 smiley12.gif

      Originial first journal:

I'm a noob and I don't care who knows it
I have seen every episode of RvB available to non sponsors and read as many office comics as I could find and absolutely adored each one. Spent the last 2 hrs of my life watching all of PANICS and Strangerhood and didn't really care for them. With this waste of 2 hours of my life, I have come to a conclusion: I conclude that no series will ever compare to the insurpassable awesomeness of Red Vs. Blue. Rooster Teeth owns days of my life because I love them.

P.S. I want to marry Caboose.

      The end, this is.

It's not really random. It's a two story house, right on the beach. It has a staff who cook and clean, as well as a boat with an experienced guide who took us to the good swimming/snorkeling spots, and caught us dinner everyday. And I went with my wife for vacation.

I'm getting off at 5 most likely. And you must stay up to watch 99 if it's released tonight. (I just realized, you can't listen to "Cure That Ill" loud enough.) Also, on my Season 1 that I'm giving you, Griffon signed it. I hope she is at the convention so she can resign mine. I have to go vacume the floor, get ready for work, and leave at 3:45. Booo. I hate my job. It's so boring and repetative. I also have no idea if I'm doing a good job. It's only talking to you on the phone that keeps me from going bonkers.

I actually stayed about 4 miles up the coast of the location on the map. Unfortunately, Google maps does not have that level of zoom for that area.

It was a 2 story house that some American owns and rents out while he's not in country.

I laughed about your bed. Movie place could be fun. Free movies. Wanna know something funny, my dad asked me when I was going to invite you up here. (While typing this, I got distracted by the song "Tell Me", and started head banging and forgot what I was gonna say next). I said, she lives south of Cinci, and he said, "So?" I'm thinking that he thinks there's something going on between us. I then told him you were coming up for the convention. I told him about the officer hotpants idea, and he said it was one of those, "It's funny to talk about, but you never do it." He did come up with a good idea though. I've changed it a bit, but it's the same concept. Walk up to them and say, "When I seen Geoff last time, He signed all my shirts Gus, can you?" And when he says yes, I yank this garbage bag full of shirts and drop it on the table. And watch Gus freak out.

No, I woke up today at about noon cause my brother was on the computer playing music. The autistic one. I kept saying, "Turn it down Nate. No, all the way." I layed there until someone called me at 1 or something, and got up about 5 minutes after that. I thought it was you that called until I was typing this and typed, "I layed there until you called..." then realized, I had no idea who it was, checked the number, and seen the area code was 317, and now I think it was my sister, but I'm still not totally sure. Nice to see that you are up before 6......30.

It's really easy, you sign up, they send you emails. There are a few other things you can do for money, but the easiest one is doing one survey everyday (which is a buck/day), they also have free things to sign up for, and some deals on internet shopping if you link it through their site. It's not automatic income, I make like an extra fifty bucks a month doing it. All I really get if you sign up through my link is five dollars the first time you get a check.

Your journal touched on my personal life, which doesn't happen too often. I'm just happy that my input may help your outcome. I'm a hard ass with my son for those exact reasons and I would like to think that my advice actually leads in the right direction for him as well as you. Both of you have such potential it's scary. Imagine if Moses heard the voice, wet himself then fled down the mountain. That is just as important as our life decisions but we don't see them as such. I think of my spouse every bit as important as the ten commandments, but most think of the other as so much less.

Find faith. Find your calling, but for GODS SAKE don't forget your second half. . . I couldn't possibly be as confident or happy as I would be without my wife. I know this may condradict, but if ever there was proof of unequated odds over an idea. . even same sex has faught for the idea that a significant other can complete themselves( right or wrong, that's powerful). . .

We are not a people thats meant to be alone. Family, friends, pets, we need a spiritual equal. So many people. . . Maybe I was lucky( what am I saying! I know I was lucky). . .But I think eveyone can be. We all draw certain like minded individuals to ourselves. Look at any group, any where, good or bad, gang or community center. In this new era we can communicate as such in a grand scale like no other time before.

We are despirate to find each other. . . to find the one. The worst thing is to close off because we caught a flat tire instead of the trophy fish. Remember. . . they are still looking, too. . .

You'll be okay. You have back up.

I think Officer Hotpants is gonna become my alter ego. He slowly is doing that already. I need to get some aviator sunglasses and a badge. And whenever I slip into that alter ego, I'll make a picture me me posing my primary picture.

"Look, a single girl, I should try to make out with her. Then ditch her." Nah, I actually am looking forward to actually hanging out with you in August. We will go shopping, walking around the city during the night, (I know the city pretty good, and I know the best places to walk) Halo parties, and some serious fun just hanging out. We can braid each other's hair too. smiley12.gif Tee Hee!

You're really my best friend right now

And you are what is keeping me sane right now. I live too far from friends right now to ride my bike, and my scooter (once I get it tomorrow) still won't be the best way to go see them, so I'm lonely. I'm working at a job that is so repeatetive, that I feel like Tucker in 98. My job also isn't totally secure right now, so I'm worried each moment things go wrong, my fault or not.

I also feel like I'm about to work my life away while I'm young, so that when I'm too old to have the fun I can now, I have the time and money to do it. I've never understood that. Work hard now, so that way when you are older, you can finally live. Well, when you are older, you can't do the same things you could when you were younger. I can't ride my bike the way I can now when I'm 35. I want to ride my bike now while I still am in good physical shape to do so and not die from it. I've never understood why working you ass (sorry, but this is just how emotional I feel about this) off now to rest when you are older, is any different than having the fun you want to now, and work when you are old and can't move. I think of this:

John: Hey, did you ever go skydiving like you said you always would?
Charles: No, I never did. I was to busy working so that we could be sitting her talk about things we wanted to do.
John: Yeah, that's what I did too.

This is also my favorite quote. I changed it from one well known one.

Stop along the path of life to smell the flowers, cause if you don't do it while you are walking by them now, by time you've come back around, they might be dead.

Flowers don't have an infinite lifetime, so we need to get to them while we can.

I'm sorry. I'm as moody as a girl with an emotion enhancing A.I. I can act fine for so long and so convincingly, that once I'm given the window to talk about how I truely feel, I can't just stick my head out. I've got to jump out the window entirely.

It's you though, that gives me that friendship that I need. I love to be alone so much, but a close friendship is something I love much more. I'm the most introvert social person I know. At lunch, unless I'm talking to you, I sit there with my ear plugs still in. I like the silence. Makes me feel isolated. I don't mind sitting in my room all alone without seeing or talking to anyone the entire day. But, when I talk to you, I have this sense of....I don't know. It's hard to explain. I get excited, happy, wanted, cared for, loopy, and other feelings that have yet to be given descriptions. I love our conversations, the goofier more off the wall they are, the better. Plus, our serious conversations makes me look at life in a different perspective, and allows me to grow as a person.

I think I know how you feel. I've got alot going on as well, but I tend to internalize some of it. I think if I were to vocalize it in the journal section it would come off as just being an attempt at attention. Not that there isn't anyone who wouldn't genuinely care or anything, but that's just the way I am. Either way I really would understand any apprehension you have at posting such things for strangers to see. I really do wish you well and hope that you have someone a little more tangible than a computer moniter to give you any advise you need.

The Utah Jazz is Utah's pro basketball team. They played the San Antonio Spurs on Monday and got gipped, big time, and I got to listen to my sweetie pie while she complained and ranted about it for 10 minutes...I thought it was just the cutest thing.

Donut has so much room for hilarity. I'd have to say, with all this in the forums, the convention idea, and just how funny Donut is, he is working his way up to being a second favorite.
