Well I think it's about time I mentioned something that happened yesterday morning:

So i was on my way to work around 9:25 am as I usually do. As I was about to reach the exit ramp I need to take to get to my workplace, I noticed an unusually large debris on the road. At first I thought it might have been the remains from a previous accident that hasn't been cleaned up yet. However, upon further inspection as I slowly drive by it, I realized immediately it was a Motorcycle that has just recently crashed and what was next to the bike was a much worse sight than I expected. I end up finding the biker himself lying on the concrete floor motionless. I was immediately like, "Oh shit!" and stopped on the side of the exit ramp. I ran over to the body along with a truck driver and two others to see if the man was alright and not badly injured. I quickly called 911, which was the first time I ever had to make a call like that. I told the operator where we were and what happened, while a passing Police unit was waved over by the others. After a few minutes since making the call, emergency response personnel arrived on scene to help out the fallen biker.

During this time I made a call to my boss to let him know why I was a bit late for work and he said he would meet with me to discuss what exactly happened. After the biker was brought inside the EMS truck, I made my way back to work and went to have that talk with my boss. I told him everything that transpired during the whole event and this was what he told me in the end, "Hey at least you went out of your way to save someones life. You should be happy that the gentleman was lucky someone stopped to help him out when he needed it most."

To be honest, I have seen major accidents happened while I am driving from place to place, but never have I had to see one happen and no one was around to help him/her out. I was practically nervous as hell the whole time since this was my first encounter with a serious situation like this and I put myself out there to try and help. In the end I really hope that biker makes a full recovery. Never really expected my morning to turn out like this, but as my boss said, I made an effort to help someone out when they needed it most and it has given me relief to know that.
