I've got a worker who's driving me nuts to drink insane... um, she's acting in a rather confusing fashion. She's a bright lady, but she just... won't... LISTEN!!

*pauses. takes a few deep breaths. continues*

OK - I feel better now. Well, actually I don't feel better, but she's in the union so what am I going to do. My only hope is that she's in a temporary position and I just might be too busy to try to switch the position to a permanent one. Cutbacks and all - you know.

      I can feel my BP rising just thinking about this, which brings me to my informal survey question;

What's the most frustrating thing that others do in you opinion?

So it's been crazy at work this week. Tons of stuff to do, and for some reason my boss doesn't want to pay me to surf the Internet and tell jokes all day. Some people can be sooooo unreasonable! If it weren't for all the work I've been doing, I'd probably have posted like 18 gazillion times in "the Caboose Thread" alone.

Oh well - there's always next week, right?

Episode 89 is up for the public now, and I think it was a great one. I obviously am a huge Caboose fan (which is to say I am an intense follower of all things Caboose, not that I like large cabooses on women, or that I myself am huge and... well, you get the picture, right?) so I especially liked his description of the time they rebooted his armor, but it took a lot longer to come online than they expected.

"It was dark and I got to hold my breath for a really long time. I'm pretty sure there were no side-effects."

Caboose handles things with simple grace. OK, maybe 'simple grace' is a little more noble than he deserves - 'blissful ignorance', maybe? I know it sounds weird, but I think I want to try to be more like Caboose in life - not get all torqued about the small stuff, you know?

I'll just save my anger for images of kittens, with spikes coming out of them. Or witless noobs who post things like "woot - lol" or "1st!!".

Which brings me to my unofficial survey question: What pisses you off?

PS - best of luck to Shaoblane and her epic journey to some place that starts with 'A'. I think it's 'Asshole' or something like that...

OK, so I'm getting better now, but I'm still not at 100%.

I know - who cares. I got that.

The lull in production right now has given me teh opportunity to poke my virtual nose through the Forum, looking for interesting tidbits of people's lives. I contributed a few things, like the stupidest thing I've ever said, or the dumbest thing I've ever done when I'm drunk. Don't bother looking - they'll both just impress you with how thick I can really be sometimes. Which kind of proves what a good friend told me the other day; "you're the dumbest smart guy I know".

I think she was being kind. I'm not that smart.

It got me wondering though, "how come I have friends in the real world and none on RoosterTeeth?" I guess one answer is obvious - it's because I haven't requested any friends yet. But that's not it - ask anyone who knows me and they'll say I'm not shy. They'll have a lot of other adjectives for my behaviour, but 'shy' won't be uttered by a single one - I guarantee it!

The real reason? I don't want to be a total noob. I only joined RT last month and am still getting my virtual feet wet - getting a feel for the place, so to speak. There's a unique culture, a unique set of rules to each group out there, and I don't want to be flamebait so I sit back, post a few comments on other forums, write my own journal entries, and give out some mods. Most of the mods I give out are positive, based on clever comments or worthy contributions, but a few are negative - mostly given out to noobs who just don't seem to get it.

It's the least I can do. Smacking them with a rolled-up newspaper is just too much work.

      J

PS - feel free to add me to your friends list if you want. I won't expect gifts at the holidays or anything like that smiley0.gifsmiley8.gif

I've been home sick most of this week (I know - 'cry me a river, who gives a sh*t', right), but that's not the point. The point is that I've been hoping/waiting/detoxing for episode 89 to be posted.

I know lots of posters thought that 88 ('Spelunked') was too short and they're complaining that Roosterteeth are 'lazy' 'cause they haven't posted 89 yet. That kinda gets me pissed because the fact that 88 was short doesn't mean it's not funny. In fact, it was HILARIOUS, even though it didn't have Caboose in it. I thought the silent Mexican Standoff between Tex and Grifster (that's what I call Grif's Sister - she doesn't have a name yet) was genius - two chicks standing pointing their guns at each other, saying nothing while the guys think about what it will look like when they make up. Maybe it was too subtle for some viewers - but they should've been happy with the play on 'peninsular ridge' ("You're on Grif's what now?"). Sarge wins it again! As far as RT being lazy because they haven't posted 89 yet - well, all I can say is that I totally appreciate the humor that these folks bring us, and I don't feel like I'm entitled or anything.

      Even though I'm a sponsor.

Face it - it's only $10, it's not a lifelong contract. And sponsors didn't have to promise Roosterteeth a baby or buy them supper or a ring or anything, so I don't think we get to whine if they don't put out.

Still, I can't wait for episode 89. I hope it's got more Caboose in it...

OK - here's the deal. I never heard of Red vs Blue until my son got an X360 last year and we downloaded 'Out of Mind' from the marketplace. I immediately thought that this was one of the most clever twists on gaming subculture that I had ever seen, with the possible exception of X-Play's "Splinter Cell Co-op Theater", done in exactly the same fashion (and, if the voices are any indication, done by Roosterteeth as well). If you've never checked out "Co-op Theater', check it out at this page.

Now I'm hooked on RvB. I can't stop watching the seasons I've downloaded and I can't stop quoting the characters. Caboose (or 'Cabose', as he spells his name) is my definite favorite, but I think Sarge is a pretty close second. Both characters have really developed since season 1, and they are much more interesting now than they were in the first episodes.

      Soooo.... what's your favorite character?
