      Holy shit I heard from a real live person today.

      Got a call from a nice lady in 'global escalation support.' Unfortunately I was at work so I couldn't be really mad and go through my laundry list of complaints like I had wanted, but we had a very short and to the point conversation. She verified my address and told me a power supply would be on it's way. She said I would be getting an email shortly (and I actually did!), and that once it actually shipped I'd be getting another email with the tracking number. Awesome.

      Honestly at this point I'm expecting a psu for a 360 to show up, so we'll see how this goes.

      Well I called again today to see what the heck is going on and why the crap did no one call me.

      After another 40 minute conversation that included another 20 minutes waiting for a supervisor to approve my escalation ticket I learned the following things:

      1) Whoever escalated my ticket in the first place did it wrong
      2) My gamertag was not associated with my ticket, and for some reason this fucks up a bunch of things? (I'm not real positive about this, but that is what the lady on the phone said)
      3) I have to wait ANOTHER THREE BUSINESS DAYS to hear back from support

      To top it off I asked what my new ticket number was and the lady said she was going to email it to me. Half a day later I think I can safely assume she will not, in fact, be emailing me my new ticket number. So I don't even know what my ticket number is. This is absolutely ridiculous, I cannot believe they are making me wait another three business days just hear back about the escalation review.

      I haven't even talked to anyone about the actual fucking issue and what they're going to do about it
      , it's all just been figuring support ticket bullshit out. I'm going to get another supervisor that doesn't bother reading the ticket and waste another week.

      Apparently the gamertag tie in is where Xbox support gets all your information from? Which made sense to me at the time. And then I thought about it for a little bit, in the email supervisor Pam had asked me for my availability and contact information. I gave them my cell phone number. They had my number. Why would they need the information associated with my gamertag if I already gave them my number (like they asked me to. It's not like I just threw my number at them and 'hey call me', she asked me). They have both my email and phone. What could possibly be their excuse?! Come. ON.

      I haven't had ANY contact with anyone at Xbox support that was not initiated by me in almost a week. I don't even think either supervisor Jordan or Pam even reviewed my ticket at all because Jordan sent me that canned response verifying my issue had been resolved when it hadn't even been started and neither mentioned my missing gamertag from the ticket.

      Overall this entire process has me completely frustrated and is driving me up the wall, and I cannot say I have had a worse customer service experience in recent memory. I feel like I'm in a crazy house because they keep asking me what the problem is and if I have my power supply. DO YOU PEOPLE NOT WRITE THIS SHIT DOWN?! IS THIS NOT PART OF THE SERVICE TICKET PROCESS?! WHAT IS THE POINT IF I HAVE TO EXPLAIN MYSELF EVERY SINGLE FUCKING TIME?! WHY WOULD I BE CALLING ABOUT A MISSING POWER SUPPLY IF I HAD A POWER SUPPLY?!

      I just want to talk to someone who will actually DO SOMETHING for fucks sake. Not just make a bullshit ticket and shunt me off. It should not take weeks just to start a dialogue.

      What in the heck is up with Xbox support? To be fair, all the people I've actually spoken to are very nice helpful individuals. However has now been three weeks since I started this ordeal and I still have not been able to even talk to the right fucking people and they were supposed to call me.

      My Xbox One power supply starting making this terrible noise. I'm talking noises that I literally thought were my neighbor mowing his lawn, but I eventually realized it was the power supply making the racket. So I made a service ticket and mailed it for repair/replacement. It got sent back and delivered while I was in Japan. After I got home I wanted to set up my Xbox, but I couldn't find the package. No biggie, I figured it was temporarily lost in the moving shuffle but it would turn up shortly. It never turned up. I looked up the tracking number again and it said delivered... to Tacoma. I haven't lived in Tacoma since 2008. The usability of Xbox's service site is terrible because it never asks you to confirm your address as you're filling out the service request, heck it never even asked me anything about any address. The only time it came up was the service confirmation email that said to "write your return address on the box", which I did. My Seattle address. Since moving to Blaine I've put in a service request for my 360 and it was successfully mailed back to me in Blaine, so really there is no reason for this piece of shit power supply to have gone back to Tacoma.

      I then had an excruciating 40 phone conversation with a phone representative to just establish my ticket for my missing power supply. We waited for literally 20 minutes for a supervisor to even APPROVE my ticket. She didn't even put me on hold, we sat there in awkward mostly silence waiting for the freaking supervisor. It was h o r r i b l e. Forty minutes to create a ticket that was then going to take three business days for them to 'review'. At the end of the third day (five days later since it spanned a weekend) I finally got an email from a supervisor:

      Good Afternoon Cory,
      My name is Jordan and I am a supervisor with Xbox. I wanted to thank you again for your recent contact with Xbox Support. I would like to confirm that your issue has been resolved and you are enjoying your Xbox experience. If you are still seeking assistance please reply back to this email and I will have someone on my team to contact you right away.

      I actually laughed. Are you fucking kidding me? I waited five days for you to confirm that my 'issue was resolved' when I still don't have my power supply? They even titled the email "Failed Delivery". I immediately responded and I didn't hear back until over a day later, and I don't know about you but I don't consider a turn around time of >24 hours 'right away'. At 9pm I get this email:

      Good Afternoon!
      My name is Pam and I am a supervisor here at Xbox. Thank you for your reply. I am sorry to hear that your issue has not been resolved. Please reply back to this email with the information requested below so that I may further assist you. I would love to have someone from my team reach out to you right away. The number will likely come from a blocked number so please keep this in mind.

      Good Time:
      Good Phone Number (include your time zone):

      Great, right? I give them my availability on Thursday. Then we had that crazy windstorm and I got kicked out of work early so I sent another email instructing them not to call the work number I had provided, just my cell phone. Thursday evening rolls around. Still no call. I hop on Xbox chat support and try and figure out what's going on. Dude is super understanding and helpful, tells me that 'Pam' is still working on the case and that he was adding a note to say I had contacted support again and updated my contact time to anytime Friday to Sunday.

      It's now 10pm Sunday night. I gave them almost four days to call me. I still have not received a call from Xbox support.

      After years of suffering shitty allergies and trying to just suck it up, I went and got a skin test done at the allergist's office today. Apparently I am allergic to everything except molds and food. My back looked and felt like I got descended upon by a swarm of starving mosquitoes.

      For trees, I'm really allergic to oak, alder, box elder, cottonwood, coast maple, and poplar. Less so for cedar, black willow, oregon ash, and american elm.

      For grasses, I'm really allergic to perennial rye, english plantain, mugwort, pigweed, and firebush. Less so for yellow dock, lambs quarters, cocklebur, marsh elder, and russian thistle.

      Allergic to dust mites. Dogs. Cats. She said to keep the pets out of the bedroom (yeah right).

      By far the worst were perennial rye, western oak, red alder, and dust mites.

      No wonder I feel like shit most of the year. The doctor said I should find an indoor job or move to a dry climate like New Mexico, Arizona, or Texas. smiley7.gif

      I didn't grow up with any of these plants so I guess they're just assaulting me now.

      to better explain the falcon thing - this is weird, but twitter only allows a certain number of tokens for their API. so when falcon made their app, they were almost immediately shut out of gaining users because twitter wouldn't allow anymore at that time. what they did to get around it was release a 'dev version,' basically, you had to unlock it in a very weird way, but once you did, you had the full app, and the full background process to it. you even had to give your own name to it (mine's something like jackiebot's messengerbird or something).

      i was going to offer to walk you through unlocking it, but when you mentioned you tried it, i looked up the latest version, and it looks like you don't have to do that anymore, so yay!!

      it really is the best client i've found.. and i'm kind of insane about how my twitter apps work (i switched everything i do from firefox to chrome - which, since i work on the internet all day, is a big commitment - just because they got rid of my twitter app).

        you should be able to. i actually just cleared out a log of 600+ older tweets that i haven't been reading over the past few days. i use the scroll widget (that sits on your desktop, and shows you like... 4 tweets that are in your current timeline, and you can scroll through it).. if i click on the falcon face instead of the number, it opens it to where i left off.

        The only reason I know what you're talking about it because I tried to use Carbon and they have that exact issue right now, they aren't allowing any new users. The only thing I don't like about it is that sometimes I can't check twitter for long stretches of time, but I still like to go all the way back to my last read tweet and I don't think you can do that with Falcon.
