Took an hour long shower... Is that enough to wash off all the geekiness? maybe.. but i think i need another one. Back to cube life later tonight. With some ridiculous cube decorations. Go me. Also..more signatures on my wallet.

That wallet just will not die. 20 years from now, i'll still be getting signatures on it...

Went and chased down the UPS lady and got my boyfriends birthday present. Which is nice cuz they tried to deliver it 16 minutes after I left for work yesterday. I feel like a winner, i ran down the street in my pajamas, but i'm still a winner.

      Still goin strong.

So we got our reservation at the Holiday Inn (which is 8 blocks away) and we needed 2 rooms cuz our friends roomates decided to go, but now it seems that they booked their own room, which means we may have only needed 1 room, which means we had a better chance of being closer. Gah...i hate drama.

Also, I went back to my parents house to water plants and stuff while they're out of town, and my car got broken into.

      My hometown hates me.

The comic-con hotel reservation process sure is weird this year. You leave your info with the phone people and then they call you back and tell you which hotel you get..strange. Still waiting for that call back. I have a backup hotel but still..would be nice to be next door for cheap!

Turns out..restarting the game was good. I found an entire area in the beginning of the game that i didn't know was there. So i'm not as mad as i was before..Still...Stupid bug!

So playing Fable, Having an awesome time. Then i was walking around, and i started a conversation with someone i couldn't see, so i ran around to try to find them. Turns out if you leave this conversation before it finishes you activate a major bug in the game that won't allow you to finish any quests. So i'm 3-5 hours in (not major but still) and now i have to re-start the game. Super-suckage.

Again, we're not supposed to pick dates or times, and a lot of us think it'll happen at the end of September of probably this year. We're just looking at the things we see and we all recognize that we could be totally off and it could not happen for another thousand years or so. Remember that if it does happen that things will get a lot better for some people here until it gets REALLY bad 3 years and 6 months after it happens. And I mean REALLY bad.

If it does happen, listen to hell's best kept secret. If not, then I was wrong and we continue on as we have been for years and I still get to see your career and artwork grow and mature. :D

I hope it works out too. At least we have this apartment for an extra six months or so. Good thing we only have two neighbors who hate us! GO US! :D Hey, it's better than the last place - they applauded when we put in the moving sign in the yard. Yeah. I like your idea about calling it haunted. lol

A few weeks ago traffic was all screwed up at like 4:00 PM during the week and all he heard was a caravan of black SUVs was heading to the airport with an ambulance following them. I joked to a friend "HA! Watch! It'll be Cheney!" Then I called our friend at church who is our deaf interpreter for my wife and he's the PR guy for our airport. Yup - it was Cheney. I should have made a bet. I have no idea why he was here. Funny thing tho - last weekend he almost had to stop helping us move as there was a small wreck at our airport. He was helping me carry stuff out to the car from storage and on the phone with the AP. It was hilarious. :)

I <3 your kitty. I <3 my caption betterer than the others too. :D

PERsecutions. Prosecution is what happens when you ram into a cop car when you're so drunk that you think that it's your ex-girlfriend's car and you want to teach her a lesson. Persecution is what happens when you're burned alive for believing in Jesus. :D

Things are well. We're in an apartment now in the interim while we wait on the new house to get built. My mom is still in the old house because the distance for her to drive is tiny compared to ours and our new apartment is, well, an apartment. Esp for someone who has two kids who are used to having their own space who are both type-a personalities and who are about to turn 9 and 12 respectively. We keep telling ourselves that it's only for 6 months and that it'll all work out. Yeah - we say that a lot. :D The new house is going up well - we're looking forward to getting that all taken care of. It's going to be awesome when it's done. We can't wait. In the meantime we're preparing to look for home school books (on discount because I can't afford another $1,700 in books for the next year) and for getting the kids' birthdays taken care of and all the rest of the stuff we have planned in the next month or so. Yeah - things are busy. EEK!

Thanks for asking tho! How are things going with you? Is that fire stench gone yet?

Oh, and I totally captioned you. :D

While I agree it's a nice thing for us to do, there are issues that guests don't always realize:
      1) It's a pain in the ass to split everything into separate checks, especially when your servers don't do a great job of organizing everything when they take orders (that was my biggest downfall)
      2) The computer system limits what we can and can't do. Sure it sounds easy to split a check up, but the system makes the process take much longer, and in addition ours only lets us run 7 credit cards per check. So when your group of 10 people show up, that means unless 3 people are paying cash, we're kinda SOL in terms of helping you unless computer genius Jason steps in and does some magic.

They said they'd cut the price way down if i did it in black and white (uh, no). I have no idea why they're charging more than yours. How big are the images you usually do?

    • Rental01

So, uh - you know anywhere that'll print photo quality images at cheaper than $7.75/sq ft?

Each image will be $23.25x7= way more than I want to spend.

      In reply to Kil1ertofu, #3:

The image will be 18x24 @ 300dpi (5400x7200). My template file with all the unmerged renders is 300MB. After merging the main layers (star field, text and shapes, etc) it's down to a manageable 137MB - the full-size png for each finished image will be about 25MB. Kinkos is going to love me.

I'm still debating saving them in pdf format. I really don't want to if I don't have to. Then again, this is my first large format print job.

      Edit:

The cross, full size, looks good. It's just like it is on my avatar only not compressed into a crappy jpg.

I'm not sure why the author assumes that it would be frightning to the athiest. I don't believe in what he's saying, but it's not in any way frightning. I think most Athiests are Athiests because they don't have any compelling proof that God exists. If he showed up tommorrow, most of them would go "Oh look, I was wrong.".. I'm not sure what my argument proves..it made more sense in my head before I typed it.

The part that's frightening is that if we're right then the person is responsible for their thoughts and deeds. God isn't going to force you to love Him and if you see Him every day then it won't be free will - your fear will be defined by your experience. Instead, He gives you the opportunity choose to love Him or abandon Him based on your own free will. Now, just as with a civil court, when laws are broken there needs to be punishment. In the same way, when we break God's laws there is punishment that's required. The punishment is so harsh because God is so holy that He can't have any sin near Him. Not a single person can meet those requirements and God knows that so He sent His Son to live a perfect life then take the punishment for our sins. In His perfect sacrifice all of our sins can be forgiven. The only way to obtain that is to turn from your sins ask for forgiveness then trust wholly in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ to pay for your sins in your place. His resurrection is a promise to us that the sins have been forgiven and that we too will be resurrected with Him to spend eternity with Him in Heaven.

Thanks! This was just another tangent on the globe I created for my "Christians for Global Warming" image. It's funny - now that I have the cut out image of the continents there are a lot of cool ideas that come to mind.

I'd still like to learn to use illustrator so I can do the cool swoopy line effects like you see so much in layers magazine and in advanced photoshop magazine. I can manually create them but it always looks better as a vector graphic.

Just because what he's doing is harming people more than helping. Imagine that I was a school counselor who set listened to everything you wanted to do and set up all your classes. Some seemed unrelated but you trusted me totally and allowed me to make those decisions for you. At the end of your time in college you get a diploma for exactly the opposite degree that you were trying to get and when you came to ask me why I just laughed and walked off. Now swap the counselor for the pope and swap the degree for an eternity in Hell. That's the same thing in a really crappy analogy. Continuing with the crappy analogy, I don't want to see anyone get the degrees they don't want. If you ask anyone they'll tell you that they're good people and that they're going to Heaven (or at least they want to go). The crime of it is that even the modern "christian" message of "God love you and doesn't want to change you but just wants to be your buddy" is almost as bad. It still leads people to a false comfort where they think that they are safe from Hell when they've never actually committed to anything. To be saved you need to understand WHAT you need to be saved from and when you see that you're actually in danger of God's justified wrath for breaking His laws from your youth you start to understand where the problem lies. Most religions stop there and tell you that you have to "work it off" by following the 5 pillars of Islam, or worshiping whichever Hindu god you choose (from the 330,000+ available) or (as the pope says) you have to worship according to their practices, confess your sins to the heads of their local churches, follow in their procedures and policies (sacraments) and then you still have to work it off in purgatory forever. Every one can't be right. That leaves at least some who are wrong (I'd say all but one because they're all different). Christianity says that Jesus paid the price for all sins when He suffered in your place and all you have to do to obtain that is to 1) repent (agree with God that you are guilty before Him and that, while you deserve wrath for your sins you understand why it's so offensive to Him so you're turning from those sins as well as apologizing) and 2) believe (that Jesus the Christ (messiah) took your place and was tortured to death instead of you). Once you do that you are forgiven. If you don't wake up the next day completely different then you need to go back and pray to God for repentance. You'll know when it's real. :D It's completely mind blowing. :D

Er, yeah - so that's why. Because the pope is wrong and he's taking millions to Hell.
