      KissTheBoys

I'm trying to cancel this account - it says an email will be sent to me confirming that I want to cancel. My problem: I created this account three years ago and have no idea which email account I used during setup. I've been trying to find some mention of it somewhere on my account settings but don't see it anywhere.

Anyone know where I can find it/change it?

      Thanks!

Just thought I'd let you know I posted some pics of the babies. It wouldn't let me post some b/c they were slightly too large... (by 0.6 MB, what a rip).

In case you couldn't tell be the captions, our dog's name is Snowflake, she's a pit, the cats are Cracker (the white female), and Blackie (the black male - in case you couldn't figure that out...)

The kittens are a funny story - to me anyways. We were at a friend's place hanging out outside smoking a bowl and out of nowhere this little white kitten appears. She circles us, watches us, slowly tries to get closer and more brave. Finally she gets close enough and Jay and I decide that since she's a stray and no one will take care of her that we'll take her home and nurse her back to health - she was a hot mess. Two nights later this little black kitten shows up at our door step. They look about the same age, but this one's missing an eye. We couldn't very well refuse him. So we adopted both and are taking care of both kittens. They stay outside for the most part, we let them in our bedroom at night for a few hours before going to bed so they can snuggle with Snowflake. She likes having friends over. Love my babies.

    • Worst Wedding Invitation Ever

      KissTheBoys

A friend of mine whom I've known since we were both 12 just got married this weekend. I didn't get to go as it was back home and we just can't afford to be making trips to Canada for weddings right now... I wanted to share this little gem with you - my friend's wedding invitation she sent out (received it in December I believe). This is a prime example of what NOT to do in a wedding invitation:

      Body of invitation:
You are cordially invited to come celebrate the wedding of
      (insert girl's name here)
      &
      (insert guy's name here)
Saturday the 16th of October 2010 situated at
(address), in (town). The ceremony will start at 3 pm under the tents. After the ceremony, unlimited cocktails and hors deuvres will then be served. A 5 course meal will be served at 6 pm, followed by an open bar from 8 pm until midnight. In order to help us cover part of the cost for the service, we have fixed the participation fee of anyone attending at:
      $60 per adult
$30 per child aged between 5 and 11
$15 per child aged 4 and under
The payment has to be returned at the same time as your presence confirmation, before the 1st of July 2010.
Our only wish is to spend this memorable day with the ones we love. If you would like to offer us a present, money would be appreciated. A nutial basket will be at your disposition during the wedding reception.
      A big thank you

Return envelope: I thought it was nice of her to include a return envelope so that you can send your confirmation and money to her - I guess postage wasn't in her budget either 'cause there was no postage on the return envelope.....

I've shown invitation to several people, mostly women - and they all had just about the same reaction: their mouth about hit the floor. Is it just me - or should I send this in to David Tuterra as the worst invitation ever? I've never heard of people charging money to attend a wedding, is this a new thing???

Needless to say she should have had someone proof read what she wrote. A nuptial basket will be at your disposition? Is it just me or did she mean at your disposal?

I feel like I'm signing up for a conference! There's an agenda included, fees for different levels of involvement, deadline for submitting your confirmation and payment...

To my surprise and amazement, when I talked to her two months ago she said so far 80 people have confirmed their attendance and sent in their payment. I didn't even think they knew that many people, never mind that many people that would PAY to see her get married. I always thought the purpose of an invitation was to invite someone to do something (or go somewhere) you wanted them to do (or go) at your cost...? If you can't afford a big, glamorous wedding '“ don't have one! Or apply on one of those E! wedding shows to have your wedding planned and paid for you. When she told me how many had confirmed I said, "I guess most of the costs are covered already then, huh?' Nope. The 'fee' barely covers the costs of the caterer! I think someone needs a lesson in shopping for vendors. And a lesson in writing invitations. Actually, now that I think of it, I'm surprised she didn't ask me to proof read it '“ I had to proof read everything she ever wrote in high school before turning it in to a teacher...

And it's not like she didn't have help. I offered to do whatever I can from a distance, like make phone calls to vendors to make sure things are going to be ready, book appointments, or anything else I could do from a distance. She declined. Actually she never called. And from what I hear from my friend's back home '“ she's being herself. Doesn't want help from anyone, doesn't want to hear what anyone has to day. I have no problem with her wanting to be in control, it is after all her wedding. But this is one thing I think she should have asked for help with. I don't think she's ever even been to a wedding, let alone plan one. Oh well. Her wedding. Her disaster. Anxious to hear from my friends how it went.

      All for now!

P.S. Almost forgot '“ she did the open bar thing 'cause it was cheaper to do shots that way, and that's all her and their friends do. How tasteless is that? Doing shots and getting drunk at your own wedding....

Hello all!!!! Wow, it's been over a year already?? Holy camoly!

Well, I guess I should catch you all up... I'll TRY to keep it short, but it has been a year after all...

Last I was on here Jay and I were moving to NY (Jay had a job opportunity that we couldn't pass up) When we arrived in NY we found out that the company he was going to work for JUST hired 6 people and now couldn't afford to hire him (would have been nice to know a little sooner....). Also find out that the apartment we were going to rent is no longer available. So here we are in this little middle-of-nowhere town, no jobs, no place to stay, and about $400 in our pocket. Stay in a motel for about 2 days and decide to move on. Jay's mom agrees to let us stay with her in Boston until we can get back on our feet. That lasts about 2 weeks, and move in temporarily w/ a friend. Stay there about a month (during which time we both find jobs, unfortunately they're both part-time). Go back to stay with his mom again, this time we only last a week (Jay and mama don't always get along...). Homeless and living in the car, we think I'm pregnant. We live in the car for about a week and I decide that if I really am prego (which I had every symptom and was super late) that I don't want to be living in a car or shelter - call MY mom (in Texas) and start heading down south. Now, at the time mom is still married and we live w/ her and her husband. About 2 weeks before new years he starts going a little cukoo in the coco and kicks us out, mom too. We (the three of us, me, Jay, and mom) stay at my grandparents until the first week of January (sleeping on the couch, love seat, and recliner).

Finally! Things are starting to look up. In October I started working at a school district, part-time, as a clerk, and now Jay finally finds a job (still part-time). We also find a three bedroom house that is very cheap and has the perfect layout. We bring home a puppy from our friend's dog's litter (her name is Snowflake, I'll post pics), a few months later we adopt a stray kitten who looked so mangy we couldn't help but take her home. Well wouldn't you know it, two nights later another stray, about the same age, shows up at our door. No, they aren't related, the one we intentionally brought home came from a neighborhood miles and miles away. First kitten is all white so naturally we called her cracker, the second kitten is all white so we called him blackie (yeah, I know, real original - I didn't choose the kittens' names, I got to choose the dog's).

After a year at the school district they offer me a full-time permanent position. Different department but that's not a bad thing, I love my job. Jay is currently out of work (got laid off, then hired by a friend of the family, quit b/c the guy was a dick, went back to work for him 'cause he was being nicer, then quit again b/c dude started being a dick again), so things are a little tight.

Oh yeah, in May Jay's mom died so we made a trip up to Boston for the funeral. Jay stayed for a month to take care of the house and get things straightened out. We still don't have a cause of death, there are uncertain circumstances but that's a whole different post.

I'm going to school, again, but this time I love it. I'm studying Advertising Design, just starting my first week of my third semester.

Oh - I almost forgot! I was pregnant, unfortunately I miscarried at the end of the third month. We had started thinking of names and Jay came up with Jimlas (Jesus Is My Lord And Savior), to which I said "no way", and suggested instead Wyatt Wylie Jay Dolan (that way the baby still has Jay's name AND the initials spell WWJD). No, we didn't think of girl names. We want a boy. I'm sure we would be just as happy with a girl, but with Jay's genes, there are very good chances it would have been a boy.

I'm actually in class right now - bored, I pretty much know everything the teacher is teaching (it's a very basic beginning to Adobe Illustrator). I can't wait to get into the stuff I don't know. That's when the fun begins!

Any ways, this is long enough for now...

Hope all is well with everyone, leave me a message! Let me know how you've been!!

      Cheers

ok, well...i have a great tiramisu recipe that's nearly foolproof and isn't all mushy like a lot of them b/c it uses hot milk sponge cake instead of lady fingers, and i have a GREAT fudge recipe...

oh, and 1-2-3-4 cake! with vanilla buttercream frosting. yummy and tall (3 layers) and really impressive. i make good lasagne, and soups...especially split pea and ham. sausage gravy with biscuits? super easy and really yummy and filling and VERY southern.

and aloo gobi with rice and chapati? or pakoras?

if you really want cooking lessons, or even just some pointers or no-fail recipes, i am always glad to help! i love love LOVE cooking, so anything you need...

i'm a foodie, and i have some training, so i'm really dangerous for people on diets. i believe in real butter and real sugar, and the judicious use of pig fat, though i do have to leave that out if my guest keeps kosher, but that's not very often.

My first boss, Maria, she was a manager at a dry cleaners i worked for, she told me once... "Shawn, dont ever take a salary job. Sure you get full pay even if you miss a day, but they expect you to work more hours to the point it may not be worth it to leave the hourly behind" and i do believe she was right.
