      Hello.
Had a pretty hectic weekend, have done no work = eek!
      But
Today's been cool. Went up the Spinnaker Tower.

      spinnaker_aerial_view_300.jpg

The story behind it is that it was a millenium project which has only just been completed and opened about a month back, cost us tax payers loads but I think it was worth it. Here are my pics of the view over Portsmouth and my random family members.

My computer is sodding slow today and the pics are pretty big so good luck seeing them everyone! (They are worth it though so do check them out!)

      (1) Laurence Binyon, For the Fallen (21st September, 1914)

With proud thanksgiving, a mother for her children,
England mourns for her dead across the sea.
Flesh of her flesh they were, spirit of her spirit,
Fallen in the cause of the free.

Solemn the drums thrill: Death august and royal
Sings sorrow up into immortal spheres.
There is a music in the midst of desolation
And a glory that shines upon our tears.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young,
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncountered:
They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years contemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
      We will remember them.

      They mingle not with their laughing comrades again;
      They sit no more at familiar tables at home;
      They have no lot in our labour of the day-time;
      They sleep beyond England's foam.

But where our desires are and our hopes profound,
Felt as a well-spring that is hidden from sight,
To the innermost heart of their own land they are known
      As the stars are known to the Night;

As the stars that shall be bright when we are dust,
      Moving in marches upon the heavenly plain;
As the stars are starry in the time of our darkness,
To the end, to the end they remain.

      Do you know what?

I think i ought to do a new audio journal soon, just listened to my old one done a few months ago when i had a cold and it is terrible, it sounds nothing like me.
(I also can't find my journal where it appeared so i'm guessing i deleted it in shame).
This has been inspired Dan with his groovacious video journal.

This journal was brought to you by Kittenofhope in association with the letter Z and a picture of one of the Fraggle Rock characters.

Hmm not much to say really.

Just come back from seeing Brothers Grimm, was pretty good but i wouldn't say great.

      Feeling sleepy now.

      Am listening to Finch.

Have oh so much work to do, very stressful and annoying.

However I am gonna go to bed shortly and forget about it.

The last journal has had a lot of criticism and was clearly a bad move.
So here's a non lyric based journal.

Went to see Wallace and Gromit - The Curse of the Were Rabbit yesterday.

      w_g_wallace_rabbit_web.jpg

It was hilarious and the rabbits and Hutch are the cutest things ever smiley11.gif

Tomorrow I will be seeing Brother's Grimm. Yay!

Must cut down on spending after this though and get down to work, I have 2 essays and my dissertation to get on with along with general life things.

I'd like to thank the random people who have been commenting amusing things on my images recently, lol, u weirdos.

      Ummm Hop to It!

I smiley12.gif sherbert fountains, the goo goo dolls and this song at the moment:

      Let's talk this over
      It's not like we're dead
      Was it something I did?
      Was it something You said?
      Don't leave me hanging
      In a city so dead
      Held up so high
      On such a breakable thread

You were all the things I thought I knew
And I thought we could be

      [Chorus:]
You were everything, everything that I wanted
We were meant to be, supposed to be, but we lost it
And all of the memories, so close to me, just fade away
All this time you were pretending
So much for my happy ending
Oh oh, oh oh, oh oh...

      You've got your dumb friends
      I know what they say
      They tell you I'm difficult
      But so are they
      But they don't know me
      Do they even know you?
All the things you hide from me
All the shit that you do

You were all the things I thought I knew
And I thought we could be

      [Chorus]

It's nice to know that you were there
Thanks for acting like you cared
And making me feel like I was the only one
It's nice to know we had it all
Thanks for watching as I fall
And letting me know we were done

      [Chorus x2]

      [x2]
Oh oh, oh oh, oh oh...
So much for my happy ending

    • Do u know what it feels like being alone

      Kittenofhope

Hmmm its getting a bit slow over here, not may alerts going on, so here is one for u all.

Firstly i am so sleepy, i'm still in bed, and thinking how i would love a day with a long lie-in, ok so half 8 is quite good but i do love to sleep. Work at 11 and a christening tomorrow means i can't have one til next sunday.

In more exciting news, went out to my union on an evening for the first time ever in my three years at uni the other day! I went to an acoustic rock night! The first guy was spine tinglingly awesome, the second was dissapointing - he could play his guitar well and his songs were well written he just had no voice, third act was some diva.
Best part was my groovy new wrist warmers that i'm loving.

      Ciao.

Warning: I will be in busy student mode from now onwards as i have loads of reading, essays and dissertation to be getting on with. Therefore i should be spending lots less time on here (although it may mean i'm on here even more when i get bored with my work).

I managed to miss a lecture today, forgot it started at 10, and was aiming to get in for 11, oopsy! Went to the seminar straight after though. I'm so blonde sometimes. I only have 4 hours a week and i missed a lecture tut tut.

Musically I'm rocking out to Razorlight at the moment a lot whenever i hear them on anything (don't have the album unfortunately).

(I could also confess I like Love Bites the new teenage girl punk pop band)

See u later boys and girls!

      Hey everybody!

The Hallowe'en party last night was alright, just spent the night talking to my course mate as we didn't know anyone else there, music played was pretty good but there wasn't much else happening.
Most eventful moment was coming back from the shop where we were buying pringles, a big heavy pumpkin came crashing into my leg squirting juice on my leg and shoes, it seemed it had been in the road and a car came by and sent it flying into me. Gave me quite a fright.

I'm spending today reading Flaubert's Salammbo. Only 200 pages to go! its making me so sleepy!
