i haven't been here in a while. and I mean a WHILE. i've been busy like a motherfucking bee the last few months with preparing and putting on the musical (more on that later), school shit, catching up on comics, trying to find a job, and of course, chicks.

But yes, my school has been in the process of putting on a musical. from October to mid-may, we were rehearsing for Aladdin (technically, Aladdin Jr. but we made it FAR from Junior.) I don't see myself as much of a leading man (unless there was a musical about NPH. in which case, I'd kill for that role), so i didn't audition for the role of Aladdin. He's a boring character anyways. Well, they all are really. the only character exploration is in the Genie, but it's made for kids, so who cares. I auditioned for the role of Jafar! Yes, the villain of the show who was my favourite character in the movie. I got the role of course due to the fact that the well of talent at my school is virtually nonexistant.

So after seven months of absolutely delicious CHAOS, we got to May 13th, our opening night. now, out of every musical my school has ever put on in it's entire history, not one of them ever got a standing ovation. we had four shows (thursday - sunday), and every show, we got a standing ovation. Needless to say, I was pretty damn pleased.

But now that's over. =( the only good part is that i can actually focus on my schoolwork now. and I'm finally graduating this year! feels good to be able to say that.

some ideas have just popped into my head now though, so I'm going to go discuss them and hopefully put them into action.

so i only just got finished looking through all of Dac's photos from his amazing american adventure. and it kinda makes me feel bad, cause i wanted to head down to the states during Jan this year, but could (school/musical). so i'm gonna search rabidly for a job, so i can have the money to bus all the way down from here to whoever lives the south...est... (yeah, so it's not a word. sue me). i really want to meet you guys, so i'm gonna do my best to do so.

If i do manage to go, two things i can guarantee i'll be bringing with me besides the essentials: The Bro Code (Along with Bro On The Go), and my GL Ring. (i've been carrying it on me recently. not wearing it, just having it in my pocket. not sure why yet).

here's hoping All Will Be Well

    • Yeah...so...

i'm back. i'm not gonna lie, i kinda just forgot to show up here one day, and forgot about it for a while. then i saw pics of Dac's amazing America Adventure on facebook, and kinda felt bad. so now i'm back. i won't be on that often though. i have a working xbox once again (YAY), and i have four rehearsals a week. two for the musical (Aladdin) and another play i'm doing called Happily Ever After. it's like a reality tv show with fairy tale characters, and i'm the host, Walt Disney!

in unrelated news, i'm almost up to date on HIMYM and i got through Season 1 of Battlestar Galactica. sadly, i've spoiled myself on both. i know some stuff from HIMYM S5 and i know who the Final Five Cylons are. but that's not going to stop me from watching either though.

also, i've gotten my hands on not only The Bro Code, but Bro On The Go. both are amazingly awesome, and i'm not gonna lie, i've used some stuff from both already.

i guess that's it for now.

it was a pretty big letdown. not as big as revenge of the fallen (which i loathed) but it still made me think of some thing that were pretty stupid.

      SPOILERS ABOUND

ok, so the first thing that comes to mind is the ast, or second to last scene, where Jamie Fox is having the final confrontation with Gerard Butler. (the names i can't remember). now, Gerard Butler is completely unarmed, although he is fucking crazy, and apparantly some sort of super spy that everyone who knows what he is, should apparantly fear. Jamie Fox brings a gun. ... why? i mean, Gerard Butler is dangerous, sure, but he wanted Fox's character to see what he's been doing the entire movie. he doesn't want to kill him! Fox's character (who i remember is called Nick) has obvciously known this or else he's an idiot. i guess i should include a synopsis for those who are getting lost.

the movie opens with Clyde (Butler) sitting at his desk, making something (we find out later he was a 'tinker'), while his daughter is sitting beside him, making a bracelet for her mother. we see that Clyde has one on his wrist already that says 'Daddy'. the wife, we hear, is making dinner upstairs (shitty lighting in the room makes one assume they're in the basement) and we hear a knock at the door. the wife yells for Clyde to get the door (for the record, the wife and daughters names aren't revealed over the course of the movie, OR in the credits). so clyde goes to open the door, and two thugs walk in, and in a single stride, whack clyde with a baseball bat. they tie him up, and then the wife runs into the hallway, and they tie her up as well. they stab eah of them once, and then the daughter walks into the hallway, wondering what the hell is going on (basically the default look on any kids face when there's yelling). the fatter of the two thugs (who we find out later is named Darby) looks over at his buddy (named Aimes, i'm not sure if that's the correct spelling though), and walks up to the little girl, carrying her off screen. beforethough, he whispers into Clyde's ear "You Can't Fight Fate." after Darby and the little girl go offscreen we see Clyde still struggling, while his wife has already bled to death, and the screen goes black.

next scene is Jamie fox getting introduced, and his boss (apparantly some prick who actually graduated from Harvard) isn't liking how he's handling the case against Darby and Aimes. we see another character introduced, names Jonas, who happens to be the DA. but see, if you're not paying attention to this namelss characters accent, (some secretary), you'd never be able to catch what this guys name is till about 3 quarters through the movie. so Nick goes toClyde, who's waiting in Nick's office, and Nick tells him that Darby is cutting a deal so that he only really ends up in prison for around 3 years, Aimes will get the death penalty, and Clyde's pretty much useless cause he blacked out, so the defense isn't gonna take his testimony for shit. so they walk outta the courtroom, and Darby, although getting sent to prison, gets top be escorted toward Nick as he's walking out of the courthouse, and shakes hands with him for 'being on his side'. Nick looks over and sees Clyde glaring at him like he pretty much committed the crime.

now, gerard bulter is at his best in the whole movie in this scene. because when we see Clyde glaring at Nick, he's actually intimidating. the rest of the movie he's justplain old, run of the mill fucked up.

so nick goes home to his 3 months pregnant wife, and it skipps to ten years later, where Nick now has a 10 year old girl, and is leaving the house to watch Aimes get excecuted. normally, it's supposed to be painless, but he starts freaking the fuck out and having spasms, which the guards know isn't supposed to happen. on one of the poison canisters, scratched into the label is "You Can't Fight Fate". next thing we see is Nick and the rest of the DA's office heading for Darby's place. Darby, incidentally, gets a call from a masked voice (masked in the sense that the dude is speaking through a filter) and this guy tells him to leave the house, and head for this aread where there's a tasered cop in a car. Darby takes the dudes gun, and yells at him to drive when he wakes up, cause he's been getting directions from this voice on a prvate number. so they get to the location, and Darby gets another phonecall. turns out, it's the cop he has at gunpoint. but suddenly, the fat fuck can't move. .turns out that the gun has fucking needles in the handle with some sort of blowfish venom in it which paralyzes him. next scene is gruesome, cause it's Bulter telloing Darby how he's gonna cut him up.

now, i can see my description is rather lengthy, so i'll try and make it short.(er). basically, the rest of the movie, Clyde is demanding shit (like a new bed, and a steak dinner with his fucking iPod) in exchange for information on what he's done (which includes burying his lawyer alive.) and he ends up shanking his cellmate in the throat with a steak bone, so he can get moved to solitary. he keeps threatening Nick and his DA office pals so he can fix the "broken system", and it turns out that in the ten years between the original murder and the current story, he tunneled INTO prison, cause solitary confinement had the lowest level in the building or some shit. basically, they though he had an accomplice, but really he just had disguises and a way out of prison, so went about his buisness killing people. in the final scene, he goes to plant a bomb right under the mayor's conference room where she's having an emergrency meeting cause he's put the entire city into a state of panic. by this point, Nick is the DA, cause his buddy Jonas got offed in a graveyard of all places. so they disarm the bomb (without us knowing), and plant it under Clyde's bed in Solitary. Clyde has it set to a time on a cellphone, which will start counting down when he hit's call. comntiued in comments

so i haven't been logging on in a while. a few days back, i logged on, and had to sift through 30 pages on the CBM thread alone. like fuck i was reading that.

but that's beside the point. i'm trying to get more involved on the site, because i kinda feel weird after not being here for a while. i mean, i was kind of a wallflower before, but this is kinda just getting weird.

so other things that've been keeping me away from RvB!:

1- cats. well, a cat. i've been trying to get a cat for the longest time, and even though i'm 18 now (the day before Poet, Erok, and SuperGenius' birthdays) my parents still don't want to let me have one. i don't know what it is, but cats are just awesome (and cute)

2- Green Lantern. i could go on for as long as Tack about GL. i'm not kidding. this leads me to point 3.

3- the job hunt. i only have a few comics from Blackest night, and my required reading list for GL starting at rebirth is still rather large. and without the money for comics, i'm stuck in neutral. which sucks.

4- school. i'm back in high school for another year, cause i didn't graduate. huzzah for being a failure. i mean, i'd love to be in Baraxis, or Geekers, or Tack's position right now (just working, and doing what i want) but like hell am i giving up on what i want to do with my life.

5- getting ready for college. my school doesn't start any other the prep for applications until november or some shit like that, but i need to be ahead of everything if i want to get accepted to my college of choice, and get an apartment in Toronto next year with my girlfriend. which is of course, the most important point number 6.

6- Victoria. we may not get to see each other except for fridays and sometimes the rest of the weekend now (she commutes to college every day except friday, which she has off), but i get lonely easy. so i'm on the phone with her a lot, and i can't multi task worth shit. the weird thing about our relationship (according to friends) is that it's been almost seven months now, and we've never been in an argument once. other people think we're 'soulmates'. although the thought appeals to me, i don't like the idea of being set up with someone by any means. i attribute our argument-free relationship to her just being a person who is very easy to get along with, and me having grown the fuck up. seriously, looking back on some of my past journals, i was a little prick. (not to mention i was only 14 or 15 when i signed up.)

but yeah. this is why i've been gone so long. but i have been catching up. i'm completely up to date on Retcast once again, which i felt bad about, because i completely fell off the rails after Baraxis left for camp.

oh, i forgot another reason why i haven't been on much. i knew since may that my school would be doing another musical this year, but i didn't know what it was. i've been getting ready for auditions since June. i'm not kidding. i'm ridiculously insecure about my singing voice, so i knew i had to get my song perfect. and auditions are next wednesday. i'm shitting a brick house, i'm so scared i'll fuck up.

and my audition song? well i knew it had to be something good, so i chose from the best source material i had: Doctor Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. my song of choice: Slipping. of course. oh yeah, the musical that my drama teacher chose? Aladdin. i'm super pumped to get in, because i'd love to play Jafar. (i've never been giving the role of villain before, so this is a big deal for me).

so i think that's it. i've heard talk about a family meetup in florida in january. i'm trying to figure things out, but it all depends on if i can get a job before november. i'd love to go and meet everyone (especially since Dac is coming all the way from Aussieland!), but then there's the whole parent thing as well. but i still have a few months.

so now i guess i'm back in the groove.

may you walk the stage with confidence and pride

You can say hate. As I've said several times now, she's a pedophile, and I have zero tolerance for pedophiles. Zero.

I don't like it when a thread I enjoy posting in turns into a big spam war or hate fest. I said my peace, and I've moved on.

    • bi_pagan

She disgusts me. She's a pedophile and she doesn't deserve my respect nor does she deserve to be on this website. She's made sexual advances towards friends of mine on here when they were underage, and I just don't want her coming into threads I post in where I know she'll eventually stop faking like she's a good person who gets along with people and turn into the crazy person I know her to be.

I was asked to call her out in the thread. I did so. I will not say anything to her in the thread ever again. I just hope she leaves before she goes and messes things up in there like she's done in so many other threads on this site.

Have you seen The Nines? He does a fabulous job doing a serious role. Actually, three serious roles. Amityville was a good display of his dramatic chops as well, and even though he was silly in Two Guys and a Girl, there were serious moments--brief though they may be--that gave a glimpse of his flexibility. Though I will agree, getting over the funnyguy motif is a difficulty. Although I must evoke Whedon who has said a number of times his love of putting comedians in serious, even dire roles because he believes that if you can do funny well, you can do the rest just as easily. Maybe because humor--especially for standup comics--tends to come from a dark place and they already have that source to draw from. Sort of like a twisted well of creativity...and pain.
