      Hello hello!

So, I've been gone for quite a time from this site. I figure that, since we've a new one, I might as well get at...well, getting back!

How does one get back into engaging the site... Drawings? Let's start there.

Today, the world has lost one of its brightest creative personalities in Monty Oum. While I can't say I knew him personally - I never even got the chance to meet the man - his life, and his works, have impacted me deeply in the few short years I knew of him. He was easily both an idol and an inspiration to thousands. Unfortunately, there's not much I can say that hasn't already been said - or that even needs to be said - but I can say the following. In the short time that I watched him and his work, I learned many things that will stick with me for what is sure to be a lifetime.

Pursue your passions, for in passion you find drive.

Cherish the moment, and dance like no one's watching.

Strive to reach higher, for you can always reach higher.

Work with all your effort, and always until it gives you satisfaction.

Love, and love life, for life, and the lives of those around you, are precious.

Ultimately, live life to its fullest.

Rest in Peace Monty Oum. You were an inspiration in your creativity, in your work-ethic, and in your genuine nature and radiant energy in life. You will be missed.

    • Extra Life!

I'm very pleased to announce that I'll be participating in Extra Life later this year with The Angels!

Extra Life is a charity organization dedicated to helping children's hospitals around the globe. All funds raised go towards hospitals within the Children's Miracle Network, so that those who can not afford it can get the medical help that they need.

This is something that is a little personal to me. I've had my fair share of health issues in my lifetime; some of which culminated in a rather nasty bout in-hospital. Thankfully, I'm blessed to have been born in a country wherein my health was financially covered. Unfortunately, this is not the case everywhere, and even in Canada, there are hospitals that require funding. Personally, I'll be playing in support of the Children's Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan

You can find our team page here, at: extra-life.org/team/theangels

Each member of our team will be playing in support of local children's hospitals, and I'm sure that each of us are unanimous in the following, when I say that we would be incredibly thankful for your support. I greatly look forward to taking part in this event, and hope to see a lot of you there!

      Hello hello,

So, this game actually isn't out yet, being slated for release next Wednesday. That said, I found this list over on XboxAchievements.com, and thought it might be a good idea to figure out who wants what.

A good half of the list is comprised of Secret Achievements, so I'm guessing those are story/natural progression. However, what is visible look like they could be filmable and collectible Achievements. If no one else is interested, I'd like one or two of the collectibles. Anything else catching any eyes?

So, I know that a couple videos are already on the channel for the filmable, non-grindy Achievements for this game. However, as it's one of the free Games with Gold offered for XbOne members this month, I'm wondering if anyone else is having a go at the collectible Achievements? If not, I'd love to take a shot at them.

    • Film-Related Question

Whenever a film is made about global catastrophe, it always seems to be the case that humanity escapes, adapts, or overcomes it in some way. I'm curious, though; has anyone ever explored a situation in which we wouldn't make it, like, say, a black hole forming in our solar system?
I mean, we always see the case where humanity pulls together in some form or another. Even in some of the more bleak ones, wherein you see brutal factions emerge as a result of human savagery, a faction of humanity always seems to pull together to avert the global collapse of either humanity or civilization.
Maybe it's just me, but I think it would be super interesting to see something - like a black hole forming in our solar system - where humanity inevitably doesn't make it, and seeing how that might play out. I think it would make for a really interesting exploration into the nature of humanity in the face of impending annihilation beyond the light of hope.
That's not to say that I'm hopeful for a scenario in which we would see that sort of hopelessness - I like to think that nobody truly ever hopes for that - I'm just saying that it could be interesting, and that I've never seen it done.
But back to my question: Has anyone ever seen this done, and done well?
(By the way, I have done a Google search on this and found nothing, so don't give me any of those beans.)

It always bothers me when I hear or read that you can't be racist against white people. Yes, that type of racism is absolutely possible. Racism is defined as the belief that one's race is superior, and as the hatred or intolerance of another race, both of which can exist in a manner aimed against those of various Caucasian descents.
Now, I'm not trying to marginalized the effects of the inverse. I have woken up at points in my life wishing I was white. However, just because you benefit in ways PoCs don't doesn't make you any more deserving of hatred because of the colour of your skin.
Hatred in kind, as a response to hatred, does nothing than reinforce hatred. Racism is in no way a productive response to racism. In the words of Mahatma Ghandi, "An eye for a eye will make the world blind.' Of this I am a strong believer.
Alright, rant over. Sorry about that, but I needed to get it out of my system.
