wow its been a while since i have done a journal.

      so whats been going on.

well 2014 went ok. It was the year Steve and I really started to try for a family. *bow chika wow wow*.

It was a hard time as we went to a fertility clinic and I had 2 rounds of hormone therapy (injections and blood tests) to try improve my chances of falling pregnant. both treatments failed.

then the week before christmas found out that i was pregnant. woo hoo.

so 2015 i spent most of it pregnant. it was a huge life style change. the biggest change was that i ended up losing weight during the pregnancy.

our due date was 26th August 2015. ended up going way over. so instead of a 40week pregnancy i went to 42 weeks.

my doctor organised for me to be induced. so on the 6th September we went to the hospital to start the induction. after initial hospital checking and observations, @ 10pm the induction process was started. i won't go in to the details as to what is done to start induction. anyway 10:30pm my waters broke. some pain started and it was what the midwives explained as 'dilation cramps'. was given some pain relief and ended up sleeping. poor steve slept on a yoga mat in the room with me. i was afraid that things would progress too quick and he wouldn't make it in time.

alas it didn't end up happening. and things didn't progress as well as we hoped.

in the morning the dr came in and he felt its a 50/50 chance of progressing or c-section. after he did an exam it was decided that we are headed to theatre.

so at 2:30pm we headed in to the operating room to recreate the John Hurt scene from Alien.

3:01pm on the 7th September 2015 we welcomed Alice Winifred into the world.

it has been the most amazing 7 1/2 months so far and i love spending everyday with her.

So i did write a massive long journal about this year supanova and the fucking thing didnt post properly and im too tired to try rewrite. so im gonna write about what happened at the VIP party because it was awesome.

I wish I took more photos at the party but i was being really respectful to the guests as they all had a full on day signing. Thank heck it was an open bar with a tab.

Chatted to Alan Tudyk, man he is a handsome ginger and a great guy, we chatted over scotch it was great.

The weasley twins Oliver and James Phelps were super nice. I found Ollie to be friendlier than James.

The Merlin boys were a hoot, ended up talking to Charlotte, Eoin's other half, and she is both drop dead gorgeous and so down to earth. I introduced myself and mentioned that i follow her on twitter and she was surprised by that. she said that i was the 1st person to ever introduce themselves to her at one of these sort of parties because most people want to talk to Eoin and the boys. we had a great chat about Perth and how its that kind of city that you could walk around and unless someone picked you from work you have done they wouldnt bother you.(i did tell Alan this fact as well). I really do hope Charoltte comes back to Perth for a visit, i would be happy to show her around.

my highlight of the night was the fact that i broke down and cried infront of Carrie Fisher. A wave of emotion came over me, and it wasnt the fact that SHE'S PRINCESS FUCKING LEIA.
It was because in her last book 'Shockaholic' theres parts in some of the chapters about how when some of her close friends passed away she was there with them as they went to the great beyond. Any way when was listening to this, i had the audiobook so i can listen when im at work by myself on mondays, this brought up the memory of when my nanna passed away and that i wasnt able to say goodbye to her. Any way so there i am trying to explain to her through the sobs that is wasnt because she was Princess fucking Leia but to thank her for writing that chapter and how it brought back memories. She just grabbed both my hands and said ' honey dont worry im bipolar and am an emotional fuck up too. when ever something like that happens to me now i just go watch WW2 documentaries.' she then pulled me into a hug and kissed me on the cheek and that was it. i didnt want to take any more of her time as there were other VIP's who wanted to chat to her. - now as you may have guessed i was crying they whole time i was typing that last bit. I truly am an emotional fuck up.

I was able to catch up with one of my friends who is a writer and is currently writing the DC Injustice series.

so about 9:30 some of the supanova staff arrive and it got crowded but it was good. my scotch and sodas became more and more less watered down and i was drinking them way too quickly.me and Dave(keeps an eye on the hired security) had a great chat and managed to grab a top shelf scotch- cant remember what it was but it was smooth.. chatted with alot of my con family. and just had a great night. i really wish i got more photos but alas theres always next year.

    • so i should really write......

      Lollypopangel

so whats been happening the past few months with me..
      a lot and a little.

      JUNE was awesome:
Celebrated my 30th with family and friends, most of my Supanova buddies made it out. i had a 70's themed party and dressed up as a tubby CHER. Steve went as Sonny, found a safari suit in a costume store for him to wear. for got to take lots of photos as i was so busy running around seeing to people.

Steve got spoilt for his birthday.
secretly saved $$ to get a VIP tix for Supanova. he was happy. we originally managed to save up for my tix but little did steve know that i was getting him a tix

      more to come....

Just got home from seeing the final film in the Cornetto trilogy.

HOLY FUCK Simon Pegg wore the fuck out of the duster coat.
He is now officially the hottest ginger ever.

everyone has to see this movie. it is so funny. and Nick Frost was awesome and wow in the combat scenes.

now i want to do a massive pub crawl

so today i go visit my doctor in my lunch break because over the past week my speech has become slurred or im stammering (which is different to stuttering)/stuttering and today it was annoying the fuck out of me at work.

i trace it all back to the migraine i had 2weeks ago where i only had 2hours sleep and nearly drove in to oncoming traffic on my way to work. lucky the street i was driving down didnt have any cars on it or else i wouldnt be here. i didnt go into work that day.

any way my doctor has asked for me to get a CT scan and lucky the place where she has referred me to will bill it to medicare (government funded health care) which is good for me because i phoned another radiology clinic and they charge $450 for the scan.

the crap thing was that i couldnt get in to see them today and have booked my scan for thursday during my lunch break. gonna call a branch near where i work on wednesdays to see if i can get in tomorrow at lunch.

any way back to the stammering. i'm getting frustrated because i have to stop myself mid sentence to either prevent my self from stammering/stutter(sometimes happens) or to think of the word i need to say next. the people i work with havent noticed because im ignored, i sit at the reception and they are in the surgery. some parents noticed my speech pattern, were a bit concerned and wished me well.
the only way i can describe how i feel is (this is really gonna sound weird, maybe insensitive but try follow) if you ever watched a Michael J Fox interview since his parkinson disease diagnosis his speech pattern is how i feel im speaking. its the only way i can describe it. it doesnt happen all the time but i think it happens more when I'm under stress or something. i can't pin point the cause.

i just want to find out what going on in my head, why am i always getting migraines in the same area (behind either my left or right eye, on the rare occasion behind both eyes)

i use to get food related migraines, but now its anything setting it off. im not liking it one bit.

it happened today at work but i had a borderline migraine/headache and i think that triggered the response.

ugh i hate this. but there isnt much i can do.

so for now until i get the scan i have to wait

    • ADELAIDE HERE I COME

      Lollypopangel

so this morning i fly out to Adelaide to hep out at their 1st Supanova.

I need this trip after the crap i have had happen to me this week.

My hand bag was stolen on Monday and in it was almost my entire life.
The iPad was in it, my purse with all my ids, my keys- car, home and work keys and my fave sunnies which were $20 k-mart sunnines but thats beside the point.

my home and contents policy has another lil policy to it which it an unspecified personal policy- meaning that if my shit is stolen from me when im out and about i can claim up to a certin amount. which means cos some fucker sent their kid in to the hair salon and nicked my bag i can claim it back.

the only problem is i never keep receipts. but that was ok, i just needed to provide photographic proof that i had the items that were stolen.
I knew there was a reason for me photobloging a lot.

Any way police report was filed, insurance has my claim form and the hair salon is hooking me up with free stuff cos they feel bad this had happened (and they dont want me going off on a twitter rant)

any way off to adelaide very soon.

    • Post Supanova depression.....

      Lollypopangel

So Supanova wrapped up its June run a few weeks ago and I'm missing everything about it.

This year Steve and I did the crazy double header and volunteered at Sydney (on my birthday weekend) and then our home town leg.

Sydney (and Supanova in general) had its 10th birthday and attendance was a whopping 28,400 over the Friday preview night/Saturday/Sunday. I loved it. All the Sydney vollies were so nice, it was great to catch up with some of the Melbourne vollies that flew up to lend a hand, we met most of them from last year. All the Brisbane vollies that treked down were begging me to help out at in Brizzy. To have someone beg for your help was an honor. But for me to get to Brizzy is SO expensive.

My role in Sydney was in 'Front Of House' as a floater for the seminar rooms. Steve was FOH in the entry/ticketing lines outside. I wasn't put outside as the FOH Supanova staffer (he gets paid for working nova) Dion wanted me to save my voice for Perth cos we both knew where i would be.

Perth 'Nova I took on the role i had last year which has improved so much since they started the role last year.

Just so you know a little be more about the outside FOH team.
In an ideal situation, when there is an ample number of volunteers, the entry/ticketing line FOH there would be a team leader(me) and 6 teams of 2 broken up into 2 shift times to deal with getting people in the correct ticketing lines. 1 team member from each pair would be on the megaphone directing and the other would answer questions and handle one on one situations. The team leaders role is to do up the roster for each team member, make sure that shift changes occur, water runs, follow any instructions given by Andrew, Dave and Dion(all Supanova staff) and also the same jobs as team members. FOH (outside) is an area certain skills are required. Being able to deliver instructions to punters, not being afraid of large crowds.

Now what happened on the Perth weekend was:
My team only had 3 people to start with on Friday and Saturday morning. I'm thankful that 2 vollies who were happy to help out on Saturday while they were waiting for their shift, in the ticketing/door check group, to start. I'm even more grateful that Andrew let me take 2 of his ticketing/door check team members to help on Sunday. So I asked the 2 guys who helped me the day before if they want to join the team as they had the experience from Saturday and they did a bloody great job.
We had extremely limited breaks, most of us didn't want to take a breaks and did pretty much a double shift. We didn't have a 'buddy team mate' to answer the questions asked by patrons. We were each doing the job of 2 people. We were outside all weekend, it was cold but at least is wasn't raining.
I would have my 5 FOH team members outside with me next year if they do come back.

Also while in Sydney I did the kinda smart/silly thing and bought me and steve VIP tickets for Perth. The main perk of a VIP tix is that you get to cue jump everything and prime seating for any panels you want to watch. So guess who was the only one in the front row for Burnie and Gavin's Sunday panel... ME. smiley0.gifsmiley0.gif
Another VIP perk is the VIP party on the Saturday night. What a night we had. Had a quick chat with Eric Roberts, Natalia Tena and a few other 'supa stars'. Burnie and Gav were there and Steve n I had a great chat about how things are run from a vollies point of view and the future of Rooster Teeth's involvement with Supanova, which is gonna be awesome. Burnie loved the fact that they are billed as 'special guests' and didn't have to worry about selling the merch as HANABEE are their distributer for Australia.

All in all Perth SMASHED 5th year records for any of the other cities. Last year we had 17,500 attend and this year was massive. I was thinking 18,000 for this year but no.. We got 21,100 people attend over the weekend.
The guy who runs the ticketing agency that do the pre-sale tixz asked me last year 'Where do you see Perth'nova going?'
I told him straight up "If Daniel (the owner of the expo) keeps getting quality guests, we could be as big as Bisbane (2011 numbers for them were 25,000) and Sydney."

I think this year Perth proved that it could happen..

I really wished I was in Austin for RTX. An EXPO that was limited to 4000 attendees would be a walk in the park for me. Lotto dream to go there and work a weekend as a vollie. But until then I will keep workin Supanova and learning new things.

The plan for the rest of the year is:
Once Steve finds out if his leave has been approved for November, flights will be booked for Adelaide. If Steve cant get time off, I'm still going. Have a twitter friend who I met in Perth who is all booked has offered me to share her accommodation which is nice. And if i have the $$ at the time VIP tixz come on sale I'm so doing it again. It will save me a lot of time in the line rides and I know it will be busy as this will be Adelaide's 1st Supanova.

      Hey there!

The Official Rooster Teeth fan event, RTOZ, is just around the corner! I just wanted to remind you to buy your ticket, if you haven't already, as they are limited in number. The event is going to be on the 16th of June with the attendance of Drop Bear Gladiator, Burnie Burns and Space cowboy/Free "Thinker" Gavin Free of Rooster Teeth.

      RTOZ%20Blurb%20image3.jpg

The night will be filled with bowling, laser tag, food and Xbox comps and arcade games. We will even jam in an exclusive panel with Burnie and Gavin! Seriously, who wouldn't want to listen to Gavin talk?
But wait, there's more! You will also receive a Roo Teeth goodie bag and an RTOZ shirt! The shirt automatically gets you bragging rights among your friends and allow you to defeat the dirty Blues!*

So what are you waiting for? Buy your ticket here! Invite your friends! Invite your enemies! Invite the Blues (maybe). And join us for a action packed and awesome night of fun with the Australian Rooster Teeth community starring Burnie and Gavino!

      * Actual results may vary.

The bullshit part in him living with us is that he (his fuckin dad) pays rent that ONLY cover the space in the room. Meaning the fridge is all ours, he has to get his own damn food. but of course not. Both him and his grimy girlfriend eat the damn food. I hate them both. Honestly, i wish they would fall of the face of the earth. UGh
