So I took my law enforcement written exam today...

      And passed!

This means I have an interview with the Chief of Police on Monday! After that, if he passes me to the next level, I will undergo the background/polygraph tests.

      :)

I've wanted to work in law enforcement since before I can remember... so now I'm ridiculously excited. And hey, if they don't take me this time around, I can always apply again... and again... and again, lol.

That's all I have to share, really. T'rah!

My friend and I were discussing this the other day, and I thought to myself: "Perhaps I should ask my RvB pals! They'll give me some good insight."

So... I would like your thoughts on the following:

Is Cybersex considered cheating, or just really low-grade porn? Lol. What about a 1-sided webcam (with the attached person viewing)? What if you know the person in real life? Please, your thoughts.

I have no idea how my friend and I got on this subject, but it made for an interesting debate. Ready? Set? Go!

I totally woke up this morning to my phone ringing....

In which the person on the other line wanted to set up a job interview on Friday.

      HECK YES!

I always nail interviews. ^___^ Apparently, I'm really bubbly/client service friendly. Heh.

      ::crosses fingers::

      I don't even care how much this pays (it's a receptionist gig at a busy chiropractic office). A job's a job's a job.

...When you have to sit on hold for long periods of time, putting your phone on speakerphone 'cause you're sick of holding it to your ear.

I think I've been on hold with the damn KS unemployment office for... oh, about 9 minutes now.

      UGH.

How hard is it to get through a 'high call volume' anyway? Do they only have two people working the phones? What the heck?!

It's not like I have a ton of cell phone minutes to burn. Ugh. >.<

So I've recently gotten into the show "Numb3rs", and have absolutely devoured it. Moving on from that, I started House and am halfway through the third season.

      My questions are:

What did you think of Numb3rs? Of House? (I know it's a popular one ::winks:: )

And do you have an recommendations as to what I should start Netflixing after I'm done with House? Unfortunately, all I have is the run-of-the-mill basic-basic cable, so I'm at Netflix's mercy.

      Thanks! <3

      Goes a long way.

Thanks, dreamingtree, for renewing my sponsorship. Really, it meant a lot.

      <3

Everyone should go mod that guy. Since I can only do it once. Heh. ^_^

Anywho. The job search has begun! I applied to a few places yesterday... ::fingers crossed:: Soon, I'll get up to the Douglas County police dept and ask 'em for an application. I'm a little nervous, mainly because of little things. Such as, I don't know what to wear. I don't know what to really say. I don't know how to not come across as too bubbly/girly. Hmm. Those things I have to work on first. I want them to take me seriously. I know I'm a small woman, but I can kick some ass when I need to. And I really want to join the dept. Sigh.

Any advice, Tony? I could use it. :)

Today, it's 65 degrees. In January. In Kansas. In the next three days, it's going to snow. Weird weather. >.<

Well, this week has been one of the worst weeks ever.

      EVER.

I mean, there's been a couple of good things, but for the most part... no, it's been awful.

I got laid off. Yup. The company's tanking. I filed for unemployment today, so... here's hoping. Maybe this will give me the push I need to go do what I really want to do... Hmm.

Oh hey, did I mention a drunk driver hit my parked car while I was at a bar two days after Christmas? Lol. And that he fled the scene, was picked up at home, and didn't have proof of insurance? And that I'd been calling the police records dept. and the municipal court, and the prosecutor's office for weeks, trying to find out if the report's been filed finally, and whether or not he has insurance? Yeah, I have. :P They didn't know. They told me to wait until he shows up for court in May. ::eyeroll:: So, that's what I was going to do... and then out of the blue, two days ago, Progressive Auto Insurance calls me... I don't have Progressive. Lol. So it was the dude's! Yay! They looked at my car and made me an offer, and I received the check today.

Which is good, since, as I said, I got laid off yesterday.

      >.<

I had to get (and, subsequently, pay for) a new phone yesterday, because my old plan with Sprint is finally over. Whoo hoo! I hated Sprint. Of course, the fact that I had to buy a new plan/phone on the day I got laid of... not cool, but whatevs.

Needless to say, I'm brooooke. Again. Ugh. Even with the insurance money... Ugh. I'll probably have to let my sponsorship run out this time, since it's up in.. a few days or so, I think. Sorry, RT, I just don't have $10 to spare. :\

Anyway.... how are the rest of you doing? What's been going on?? Telll meeeee!!

Edit: Ha. I just checked - it actually expires today. :P Ahhh well. Gooodbyeeeeee sponsorship! I wills miss youz!

      Anyone else seen Numb3rs?

Well you should. Because it's the bomb-diggity, yo. :P

I've become a little obsessed with it as of late. I started watching it on November 8th (renting the seasons via the video store and Netflix, with the exception to season 3, which I bought, because it was checked out and I was impatient), and I finished seasons 1, 2, 3, 4, and the first seven episodes of the current season, 5, on Nov. 21st.

Yeah. That's right. Two weeks. Four seasons. Heh. Needless to say, I didn't do much of anything else.

Don't know what it is? Well, I will tell you.

Numb3rs is a crime drama. I know, I know, like CSI, right? Wrong. Personally, CSI has never held a fascination for me like this show has. And it's mainly due to the characters themselves. Numb3rs has amazing characterization development. Spoiler tag comin' up for those who might whine.

Charlie (the always awesome David Krumholtz, who was in Harold and Kumar, Big Shot, 10 Things I Hate About You, Serenity (he played Mr. Universe, haha), and Undeclared) is a genius. A world-renowned mathematician. Graduated high school at 12 or 13 years of age, in the same class as his normal older brother, (played by Rob Morrow, from Northern Exposure) Don (who was 17 or 18 at the time). Went to Princeton at 13, then MIT. Has multiple doctorates and teaches at a prestigious, made-up California University called CalSci (California Institution of Science, molded after CalTech, which is real. Heh). His brother, Don, was briefly a minor-league baseball player, but quit after he realized his career was going nowhere. He then became involved in Fugitive Recovery, which then led him to the FBI. Their mother is dead, their father is played by Judd Hirsch (yeah, that guy from Taxi). In the first episode, Don and his team (a pretty girl named Terry who doesn't last very long, and an African-American newbie agent named David, played by Alimi Ballard) try to stop a serial rapist/killer. Unfortunately, they can't figure out how to find him... this is where Charlie comes in. That's right. The professor uses *math* to pinpoint probable areas in which the killer might reside. Heck yeah! It's awesome. Backed by his own team of eccentric friends (his mentor turned colleague, Larry Fleinhardt, (Peter MacNicol!!! HELL YES!!!) a crazy cosmologist (that's planets, not makeup, yo), and a pretty yet sort of boring grad student chick named Amita (Navi Rawat... I never really liked her.)), he solves the crime and saves the day.

Which, you know, happens a lot in this show. Except when it doesn't. Except when we get to see Charlie break down when he fails, and we get to see Larry become more and more out there, eccentric, etc. We get to see Don and his inability to hold down a stable relationship, even though he has more than enough chances. David has remained largely untouched, something I hope the rectify. In the second season, we get two new characters to play with, Meghan (Diane Farr) and Colby (Dylan Bruno), whom are awesome, and the twist that Colby's character embarks on at the end of season 3 is breathtaking and hair raising.

My point in all of this?

You should watch it. Because it fuckin' rules.

Also, so that I have someone to discuss it with. :P

If you *have* seen it, by all means, tell me what you think!!!

In other news, Happy (early) Thanksgiving!! I mean, for all you Americans out there. Enjoy *not* having a four-day-weekend, the rest of you. XP :D

Marriage life is going fine thus far. Thank you for all the well-wishes. It means a lot.

Oh, and I've seen Twilight four times. And I'm so not ashamed. You see, I fully expected to hate the movie. I'd seen the trailers and thought it was going to suck eggs. Boy, was I wrong. I came out of it on Friday completely blown away. I went back to see it on Saturday morning with a friend who had bailed the night before, and he liked it. And then my husband and I went on Sunday night, and he *loved* it. Which is weird, because John doesn't like those kinds of movies. At all. And now, he's reading the freakin' book. Yeah. Awesome. The fourth time, I went with my cousin, Bridget. Now, let me explain something about her. This girl has never *voluntarily* read a book in her life. I guarantee it. I know this because I read all the time and she gives me shit about it. Well, she saw the movie and loved it so much that she also ran out and picked up the book. And two days later is 290 pages into it. Which is *amazing* for her. I was so proud.

So you should go see that too, if only just to form your own opinions about it.

Kay, I'm done. This has been a ridiculous post, and kudos to whoever got through the whole damn thing.

      T'rah.

      Slow down, I'm scared.
      Guy: No, this is fun.
Girl: No it's not. Please it's too scary!
Guy: Then tell me you love me.
Girl: Fine I love you. Slow down!
Guy: Now give me a BIG hug.
      Girl hugs him
Guy: Can you take my helmet off and put it on yourself? It's bugging me.
(in the paper the next day): A motorcycle had crashed into a building because of brake failure. Two people were on it, but only 1 had survived. The truth was that halfway down the road, the guy realized that his brakes broke, but he didn't want to let the girl know. Instead, he had her say she loved him and felt her hug one last time, then he had her wear his helmet so that she would live even though it meant that he would die.

If u love any one this much...let them know...before its too late... I love you 4 ever.....and always 2 the end....i cant live without ya.....b-cuz ur my friend..... Send this to 10 ppl in the next 5 min....and....u will get kissed on friday by the love of your life.... DONT BREAK THIS . 2morow will be the best day of your life.
However, if u don t send this 2 @ least 10 ppl by at least 12:00 2nite u will have bad luck in your love life 4 the rest of your life

      Anyway, here's another.

The release party for "Sgt. Pepper". Everyone is laughing, drinking and having a good time. You stop and pick up a copy of the album, studying the cover. You look at all of the famous cutouts behind the Beatles and the wild and vibrant colors of the bands' uniforms. But the thing that really catches your eye is the doll on the right side of the cover. The words written on its shirt are interesting. What does it say? Who are the famous people on the cover, and who were two people slated to appear, but were removed?

    • Kabuse

Interesting. The answer I have is...

Stuart Sutcliffe, the others were drummers, Stuart played bass, Paul took over bass playing after he left the band. Paul also played drums for the group when there wasn't another drummer available.

But then again, it's a very open-ended question, I mean I'm sure you could find lots of reasons for making either of them the odd man out.

Nice work. My buddy who's a huge Beatles fan and got me into all of their stuff always used to say "6 bullets and not one could hit Yoko, there's something wrong in the world." Hope that's not offensive.

But yeah, my favorites are those that regular people have no idea about. Like Helter Skelter, My Guitar Gently Weeps, Happiness is a Warm Gun, and Maxwell's Silver Hammer. We used to listen to the anthologies straight through when they first came out. So I ended up liking the other versions than the actual album versions because of all the little extras the guys threw in.

Like "Paul's broken a glass, broken a glass, a glass he broke today."
