    • So, how about that new site?

      MAEJ

I have to admit I like the new site design quite a bit. It's a little minimalist .....and wow I just realized the oxymoron of those words. The only issues I've found are that some pages are still dead, like the careers page and that the video sections having the ad placed in a grey box that spans the page right above the video without any buffer is rather irritating and draws my eyes away from what I'm watching. Overall, good job Adam, good job Rooster Teeth and good job community for keeping this company alive so we could get to this point.

Edit: So as of renewing my sponsorship it seems that the site does not have ads for the videos right above them. I like this. I like this a lot. Although I wouldn't mind the ads being there if they were a little less obtrusive.

So what to say.... Howdy friends and countrymen! .....oh! and countrywomen!

Yeah, so I've been very busy trying to get a degree and other things that I've let my activity on RoosterTeeth fall to a lurker status and that is just not okay.

So, I've hit the point where I'm about to leave college and go into the real world and I've realized that I....well, I'm ready. I want to do awesome things with my degree, digital media and animation with a minor in computer science, and it's just about time I do. Heh, it's definitely going to be a fun next couple of months and I promise to keep everyone notified, because darnit, you guys are awesome!

Honestly, I find it to be an oddity that I obtained Featured User when I don't sign in. College has eaten my time up faster then I gain it and can't maintain a presence here. When you factor in that this happened three months ago as well it makes the overall happenings of this event odd to me.

Wowwwwww. I have not updated in forever. ...man,I update DeviantArt more then this page. Hm, well... I have nothing else then that. Oh no, wait, wait! I need everyone to go check out Brandon's profile imageredvsblue.com/members/images/image.php?id=3017789. and look at it while listening to this www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DC7ZUtsuP0, because it'll make you fall over laughing. One month left of this semester of college and still worrying about payments, but their is definitely something to college.

    • Red Vs Blue - The Movie, a concept

Okay, so with the latest episode, roosterteeth.com/archive/?id=1344, and seeing the motion capture and just the hilariousness of it all, I was wondering if anyone had come up with the idea of talking about an RvB movie. So, being the resourceful individual I think I am, I came to the forums. I found a series of five topics I believe, none in relation, where it had been mentioned. I couldn't hide my disbelief. I figured that someone along the line would have had an opinion and made a topic, but no, none.

Even a year ago this wouldn't have been applicable as they weren't really using motion capture like they're using with Monty, which limited them greatly. Nowadays, with their abilities to edit in new graphics as well as use said previously mentioned motion capture. They make epic episodes that get shown to the huge number of registered members and the most likely numerous non-members that come to see them.

I made this thread so the possibility of a Red Vs Blue movie can actually be discussed. Seeing as how a Halo live-action movie has been in discussion for years, with no real headway into production, why not make something better? I'll address whatever concerns I can think of right now down below. Add whatever you guys would think would help and figure out how to make this a possible reality.

Cost I can't really see an RvB movie costing as much as a full length cgi movie would now. Personally, I could see it going along the lines of a Toy Stroy 1 to Toy Story 2 budge. Toy Story 1 having a budget of $30 million and Toy Story 2 having a budget of $90 million. Add in having to not render a good deal of environments or models due to using the Xbox's and you have a huge cost decrease. With all the rights they'd have to get from Bungie, who may or may not still own part of the Halo name, not sure, Microsoft, the new studio Microsoft opened and all the small companies that may have helped it will be pretty costly, but I think some of them will be okay with a fair price for the rights to use the game and such. That will be the big issue. Personally, I think it could get done with just the $30 million Toy Story 1 had with the budget being made up of donations from the members.

Actors Well, does it matter? When it comes to actors, they have all the voice actors already, so they can stick with them. For the movements of the characters, you can use a trained person in a motion capture suit and then use the footage. So that's maybe 30 people at the biggest scene, the epic final battle of BloodGultch Outpost.

Technical Aspects Then what about all the previously mentioned rendering and work that get's done on the computers for each episode? The latest took at least two weeks. Well, that's why they would need a good sized crew. Since RoosterTeeth is in all truth of it, about nine guys who work on the actual episodes on a consistent basis, I want to say they need at least an additional 10 guys and it would be a bit overkill, but a group of 27 would be able to slam it out. If they made a 7min episode in about two weeks time of that quality, think of what they would have if they had an entire team working for them. Then again, having to factor in cost, most likely a team of an additional guy to work alongside each RoosterTeeth employee would be best.

Story Well, they already have a story as well. If RoosterTeeth is the group making the movie, which hopefully is what would happen, then there would be no concern for huge inconsistencies in between the series and movie. I think if they were done as a series of films it would be the most successful.

Success The most crucial aspect, what would be the success rate of the movie? I can see just about every RvB-nut out there buying this movie or going out to see it if it were made into a theatrical release and not torrenting it out of respect for the RoosterTeeth crew. Then you have to add in the Halo junkies who are most likely in the tens of millions, the parents of some of them who are to young to go to the movies alone and just the general populace who this movie may entertain.

I think it'd be an interesting idea and I'm willing to put down a hundred dollars when I have it to make it go through. How about you guys? Just post any ideas you have concerning an RvB movie, things to discuss, plots, effects, whatever below.

    • Dante's Inferno=Creepy *spoilers*

in Forums > Dante's Inferno=Creepy *spoilers* | Follow this topic

Okay, first off, I have read the Divine Comedy. I know it's all about suicide and Dante's epiphany to not commit suicide due to his journeys in Hell, Purgatory and Paradise. Dante's Inferno the game throws that right our the window. They fill the game with creepy imagery that's bizarre beyond belief and I'm quite sure is not in the Divine Comedy.

So, I feel that aspects of this needs to be discussed. Aspects like demon babies, Aligherio as the leader of greed and the Cleopatra mouth nipples. To me, the most disturbing thing in the game was Cleopatra. She was meant to be this personification of lust, but perverted by Hell's influence. I don't mind the succubus like quality of her or anything, but the mouth nipples, really? When you first face her you have to put up with the demon babies popping out of her puss spewing breasts and coming to attack you. ...that's just sick and wrong. I suppose I should have seen it coming, seeing as how her demonic minions grow tentacle c*cks, but whatever.

I don't know, but something tells me the Dante's Inferno crew were doing some pretty strong stuff. Not even on my most determined to draw a monster days would I come up with 1/10 of the stuff they did. So, post whatever you feel was creepy, interesting or whatever.

Also, I question why they claim there will be no sequels, or to quote some articles, "direct sequels", when the game ends with the devil escaping hell through Dante's tapestry cross/tattoo. While questioning this, I found this this forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/15/402086.page, on the EA forums. This guy has a damn good idea and they should run with it.

I know there's already a Mass Effect 2 topic but I wanted to start one that specifically deals with the toughest parts of the game for people. The so called horror stories.
Mine is attempting to beat Pinnacle Station on Insanity mode with a technician. I spent a good couple of hours just trying to beat the Volcanic areas. Any time I would come close enough to killing enough enemies in survival or the like, WAM! Ran out of time. I've already figured out my solution but if anyone wants to post their moments of terror or just general WTF/anger moments, feel free to.

I think that the last time someone signed in ought to be somewhere in the mitigating algorithm used to determine Featured User. Why feature people who don't come back for months on a time?

      • Daneja2002 TACTIKILL

Yeah, but it's one thing when someone signs in once or twice a week versus once or twice every couple of months. Not to negate your reasoning for absence. And I wasn't upset, just think it's weird that there isn't something to weed out inactive folks.

      • MAEJ

Actually, I have been scrounging around the site. It's more along the lines of I haven't been active at all on the world wide interwebs so I haven't felt the need to sign in. I find it a little odd though as I believe you have to be a sponsor to obtain featured user status and my sponsorship ended a while ago when I was unable to keep on paying due to college absorbing most of my monetary hoardings. I do agree that it's odd that users who haven't been on forever are featured, but it's a nice gesture as well and makes everyone a bit more equal and not have it be a race to see who can be the featured user most due to activity.
