Wow um, so it's been 8 months since I posted anything. Clearly making the most of my membership! How are you guys doing?

I've had a lot of changes in the last 8 months. I have no idea where that time has gone. Our wee boy is growing up so much and I can't believe he is already 10 months old. And he crawled (only a short way) for the first time today. Luckily I was there to see it having been at work all day.

Speaking of work, I have also changed jobs. Until the beginning of July, I was working for Edinburgh Council. But I had kind of hit a wall on where I could go with the job, didn't feel I was getting enough of a challenge and was getting very frustrated and dishearted.

In February a job came up in Forestry Commission Scotland, so I applied, and got invited to interview in March, but was unsuccessful. However, at the end of May, I got a call from them saying that a job had now become available and asking if I wanted to accept it. So I jumped on it. It's a little step up pay wise but is different to the job I was doing. So since the 4th July I have been doing that job instead, as a Finance and Administration Officer.

I must admit the prospect scared me, but I have been relishing this new job and its refreshing having this new challenge.

My wife has also gone back to work now part time, so our wee boy is in nursery 3 days a week. so that's been hard to leave him there those days. Bu I know he enjoys himself there and it'll help him with social skills.

I hope you've all had an awesome few months.

      Have a good weekend all.

      Much love, M

    • Hello again old friend(s)

Hi everyone,'s been 4 months since I last posted a journal...or anything much really, so I thought I'd try and get back into this.

Part of the reason (more recently anyway) is that my wife and I recently became parents in October (see my journal announcing in April if you missed it) to a gorgeous wee (small for my non-Scottish friends) baby boy who we have named Adam (I'd love to tell you it's after Messrs Baird, Ellis or Kovic but it's actually from part of my wife's maiden name). I was worried at first that I'd be terrible at it and that I wouldn't adjust, but the first time I held him, I felt completely natural. He's nearly 8 weeks old now, and he's starting to get cheeky wee smiles and things.

What's funniest is the noises he makes sometimes. There was one night, in his sleep, he made a noise like a Wookiee. It was impressive and odd at the same time.

I'll stick a picture of him in my photos so you can all see how gorgeous he is (I am be biased, but I think he's the best looking baby ever)

In other news, I also had a job interview yesterday for a Licensing Assistant for Edinburgh Council (where I work at the moment, so that was fun trying to make sure I don't bump into anyone I work with!) I feel it went well, but I'm not due to find out till next week, so I'll let you know what the outcome is.

Hope you're all having a good time of things at the moment and you're all set for the holidays. enjoy the rest of your week and have a great weekend it comes

      Much love, M

Hi guys, How're you all doing?

I can't believe it's almost August already. This year has been flying past so far. It's fair to say the last month or so has probably been because we've been so busy. We were decorating the 2nd bedroom, building furniture, took a holiday to Tenerife, working and then more furniture building. We also had a 4d scan for the baby. It was incredible to see my wee boy's little face. He definitely looks like his mummy. I'm so excited to meet my baby boy.

I'm also getting very nervous about it. I think it's the not knowing what to do which is causing it. I've never really been in a situation where I've had to look after a small child before, and especially seeing as its my own child and I want to protect them and my actions as they grow up will reflect what kind of person they become. I just want to make sure I do everything right. Did anyone else who's got kids ever had these same worries? I'd be interested to hear about other people's experience when it comes to this.

I think that's all the update I have at the moment. I've not been particularly active here recently but I've still been watching content and coming back and forth onto the site. I hope to come back and update more often.

Have a good rest of the week everyone. Stay awesome. M

Damn, I've been gone a long time. Well I've been on the website but I haven't done much commenting and journal writing, so sorry about that.

So in my last post I announced my wife and I are having a baby. It's been a busy couple of months, trying to get things sorted for the baby. We found out that we are having a little boy and I've even started to feel kicks from the baby (including to the face when I laid my head on my wife's belly) I'm getting excited. I can't wait for October to meet my son.

I hope you're all doing okay. It's been a few months and I'll hopefully be back on more often to catch up.. Hope you enjoy the rest of your week, and have a good weekend all!

    • So that good news that I mentioned...

So on Saturday I mentioned in my journal that I might have some good news...when in fact I already knew what the news was, its just I've not been able to share it yet.

So on 1st April 2013, my wife and I got married. It was an incredible day and I will remember it always. On 1st April 2015, an equally special event took place, which you can probably guess from the picture below

That's right...We went to the hospital for a scan, as my wife, as of today, is 13 weeks pregnant. And I wanted to share the awesome news with you, my RoosterTeeth family and friends.

Hope you're all having a great day smiley0.gif

We'll the past few days have been...interesting to say the least. I got my new broadband installed which was exciting, but then the clutch went on the car, which is pretty crap as we're going away tomorrow. We've managed to hire a car for the trip but its very frustrating that I can't take my own car. Hopefully the repair is covered by the guarantee, but I won't find out until tomorrow when the car goes in to be inspected.

Work has been so frustrating the past couple of days but at least I have a long weekend to look forward to and plenty of fun and excitement on the way. Have a great rest of the week people! smiley9.gif

    • So it's been a while...

Hi everyone. How're you all doing? So I've not posted a journal for a while. It's just been a very very busy couple of weeks.

I have applied for a couple of jobs recently, neither of which I got an interview for, which kinda sucks but at the end of the day, I haven't lost anything by trying (and one had a starting wage £9,000 more than what I'm on at the moment, so I knew that was a long shot.) I'm still reasonably happy in my job at the moment, but it would be nice to progress a bit further.

I have a new broadband/tv/phone provider now! its just been fitted and its already working beautifully.

I'm hoping to get some good news next week but I need to wait and see what's happening. It's also our 2nd wedding anniversary on Wednesday, so my wife and I are having a night away out at Loch Lomond. Here's hoping the weather's nice!

I hope you all have an awesome weekend. Cheers. M

    • Five facts

So I've seen a lot of people doing this, and @caleb is encouraging it, so I thought, hey, I'm all for sharing. So here are my five facts:

      1. I was rather gullible as a kid, when I was 2 or 3, my older brother and sister and me were playing with a ball in my grandparents garden, and it went in the pond. They convinced me I could walk on water to go and get it...My dad had to borrow a pair of my grandad's trousers after he waded in to get me out after I fell in. Luckily my mum had spare clothes for me.

      2. My wife and I met online on a social media site in July 2004 when we were 16 years old. We started dating long distance in the October of that year, (I lived in the South of England and she in the lowlands of Scotland) moved in together in May 2010 and got married in April 2013. We've been together now for 10 and a half years nearly. It takes a lot of work and a lot of patience, but long distance relationships do work.

      3. I once missed a 3 pointer in a basketball game for my school in the 2nd quarter. We lost by 2 points. That still haunts me from time to time.

      4. I currently work for City Of Edinburgh as a Customer Service and Finance Advisor. I started my career as a Modern Apprentice in the Finance Team within Housing for Bournemouth Council...but, I wasn't first pick. Another person was selected before me but left after a week. Instead of re-interviewing, they asked me if I wanted the job as the second choice. I made sure I worked my butt off to justify their decision.

      5. One of my favourite films was, and still is, Love Actually, despite some of the others being Die Hard, Batman (Dark Knight series) and Sweeney Todd. It just a film that warms your heart and makes you feel good.

Hope you enjoy them! And hope you've had a great weekend
