A welcome surprise. I was actually kind of blown away, I had my expectations set pretty low going into the theater, but when I left I couldn't stop talking about it. This was a really well done movie.

I just bought a new Ford Escape XLT. Im very pleased with it so far, the interior is very good quality and I love the electric blue paint job. It gets about 28 MPG on the highway and about 20 in the city. Virtually no road noise, awesom Sony sound system, ambient lighting and voice activated SYNC. Best 16k I ever spent.

Saw the new Harry Potter movie, must say that I was thoroughly impressed. Although it wasn't very accurate to the novel upon which it is based, the cinematography, acting, and soundtrack were top notch. The new director made this movie darker, grittier, and far more adult. Which only makes sense, in 1999 the Harry Potter fans were 12 and 13, now however they would be considerably older, so targeting older audiences only makes sense.

I've been watching the presidential campaign very closely the past few months. I must say that I'm very proud and satisfied with America's decision to elect Barack Obama. It proves that this truly is a land of opportunity and that that white supremacy is a dying thing. I look forward to seeing what this man can do within the next four years.

Anyway, off topic a little, I've been playing Fable II and Fallout 3

Fable II, though much more expansive than the first game, fails to deliver a completely fresh experience. It didn't live up to the hype, but it is a very enjoyable gaming experience, with great graphics, decent story and fun gameplay. So I'd recommend it to just about anyone.

Fallout 3 is absolutely amazing. I'd never played any of the games in the Fallout series before, so I dont know if this is how they all are. However, this game is just fantastic. The graphics are top notch, this game really makes you feel like your walking around in a post-apocolyptic wasteland. The sound and music is all great and fits in perfectly with the environment, making you long for the days when the trees were green and ants were only miniscule insects, unable to shoot flames from their mouths and giving the game a very lonely feel as you wander the Capital Wasteland. The storyline is pretty great. Essentially, 200 years after the world was wiped out in a nuclear war, you emerge from an underground vault that was established to guard people against the harsh nuclear winter, your goal is to find your father and unravel the mystery surrounding your birth. The gameplay is just like Elder Scrolls IV, but with a new feature, called V.A.T.S. Which allows you to target individual bodyparts and let me tell you, this is a lifesaver. Anyway, this game is definately worth a buy. Mad Max, eat your heart out.

I've started college. Took me long enough, right? Anyway, I'm going for Criminal Justice. Its a two year program and at the end of it I'm going to join the police academy. Thats right, I'm gonna be a cop. However, for now I'm just a student at Colorado Technical University. Honestly its pretty rough getting back into the swing of things, but I'm doing pretty good so far...but I havn't taken any math classes yet, that'll be the death of me I'm sure. Anyway, aside from that I'm still working at the Ford plant and courting a beautiful young lady named Kayla.

THE BEST MOVIE OF THE SUMMER

      Hands down.

Just an amazingly well done film. Christian Bale and Michael Cain did fabulous jobs and Morgan Freeman was as good as ever. Heath Ledger was the real star though. As the Joker, theres never been anyone to equal him. Hes funny, dark, evil and a complete anarchist. He's pretty creepy too. In any case, if you don't believe me, believe the numbers. In the first

"The Dark Knight" took in a record $155.34 million in its first weekend, topping the previous best of $151.1 million for "Spider-Man 3" in May 2007 and pacing Hollywood to its biggest weekend ever, according to studio estimates Sunday

Hollywood set an overall revenue record of $253 million for a three-day weekend, beating the $218.4 million haul over the weekend of July 7, 2006, according to box-office tracker Media By Numbers.

This is the underdog of the superhero movies coming out this summer. I think its rather unfortunate, the previews for it are absolutely awesome, it looks unbelievably cool. However with movies like Ironman, Hellboy 2, the Dark Knight and the Incredible Hulk coming out over the summer, Hancock may be overlooked. Anyway, if you havn't seen any trailers for it, you should definately google it.

So I have been gone for a very long time. I've been occupied however with work and with my most amazing of girlfriends, Kayla. I recently rented Dark Sector and Turok, both are good games, though I preferred Dark Sector more. It had a good storyline, good gameplay and decent graphics made for an interesting game, but really I didn't think either game was particularly innovative. I'm looking forward to playing Fable 2, hopefully they learned from their previous mistakes.

Anyway, Ill try to get on more often, until next time.....

Actually, no where in that verse does it say to kill them. It says they will be put to death and their blood will be on their own hands. So they will die, eventually, but they won't be blameless upon entering the kingdom of god, they will be guilty of commiting an abomination in the eyes of God.

considering that i was being completely honest with you there, i'm surprised that your "holier-than-thou" standing didn't figure that out.
you should be finding all the good in people, rather than picking them apart and calling them
      "arrogant" or "belligerent asshole"
      good Christians try at least.
      isn't it in the Bible?

in fact, i see your entire last comment as an attack "on a personal level".
a decent conversation requires the sensible logic of both parties, not just one. in this case, seeing as you not only are backtracking already, but are now telling me that you'll shut up if you "feel its valid."
you said so yourself: "..self-righteous, believing that your right and everyone else is wrong. "
you spelled "you're" wrong, by the way.
it seems to ME (and apparently most other people i talk to who you've had these so-called "conversations" with) that you are in fact, self-righteous and believe that you're the only one correct here.
you say you're willing to "change your opinion" if i state my claim and if you "feel its valid"
but would you ever feel that i was utterly right, hypothetically, and change all your views forever? like most people like you, i'd say not. you're far too biased.

i'd like to hear what "several points" i've made that you've conceded to.
and i'd also like to know where you feel that you were wrong.

wow. men rule over angels, eh? right, right. so in exchange for believing in him and being miserable for your whole live on earth, when you die, he gives you a bunch of angels to rule over tyrannically. fun for you, i bet!
"hey, let's go play Biblical Empire!!"

i never specifically said that i was the better person, just that i hated you.
but yes, if i'm being honest, i do think so.
i figured that with a different, less calm approach, i might just get through to you a little.
      guess not.
whatever. no use going back now.

gee whiz, sure took you long enough, didn't it?

so you can only become "truly human" once you die?
don't you become an angel then? angels are not humans. they're a completely different species.

      but you know what?
i just don't even care anymore.
if you even dare to read the rest, oh feeble-minded one, you will soon discover my BLATANT dislike of you.
if your small brain is capable of free thinking-- and thus inferring that i hate you via context clues-- then you MIGHT be able to comprehend the rest without short-circuiting.

i just thought i'd give you fair warning.

i can see that arguing with someone as ignorant as you is pointless and, quite frankly, boring. so i'm gonna put this right out there and end this pathetic "debate". if you can call it that.
are all the comments you get from other people another side of this "debate"?
what are you trying to accomplish?
i think you're just showing the world just how big of an hypocritical ass you are.
and yes, the word "an" is being used correctly.

      i'm not Christian.
      i admit it.
      lots of my friends are.
i have friends who are Buddhist, Shinto, Seik, Catholic, Christian, Jewish, Jehovah's Witness, Atheist, Agnostic, you name it.
and no matter what any of them have said about their religions, NONE of them have been quite so, well, moronic.
      you're contradicting everything.
even my Christian friends agree with me there. they've even said outright: "wow, what an hypocritical ass. it's insulting."

but i can see that i'm just prattling on, talking at you rather than to you, but as i've said before: i just. don't. care.
i can't just let you sit there and think you've won.
      but that's just me.

but no, it's not my pride. it's merely my informing you that you're wrong. or at least stupid.
      a mere statement of fact.

sure, if you believe in God and the afterlife. cool. go you.
i just don't see why you have to be so hellbent on punishing yourself-- your real self: all your wants and hopes, dreams and desires; so that you can die and go to some theorized-- and not scientifically proven, i might add-- place where you become another species and live forever and ever.
      let's be realistic.
i know it's hard for you, bear with me and try not to burst a blood vessel trying to think more than you're capable of: i.e. on a normal level.

first of all, nothing lives forever. everything DIES. you will die, your mom will die, i will die, in a few billion years, the Sun will implode and obliterate the solar system, including Earth.

secondly, since people are physically and mentally unable to come back from the grave to tell everyone else "oh yeah, heaven's totally real, man" it's impossible to know for sure that it is, in fact, real.

i'm thinking: why give up the life you've got just so you can die and supposedly live another one?
for all anyone really knows, when you're dead, you're D-E-A-D dead. so... why waste the life that you KNOW is real?
      why punish yourself for nothing?

if God made us, why wouldn't he want us to live the lives he gave us? he "made us in his own image", correct? why wouldn't he care about our happiness?
"oh no, i gave you this life with the option of happiness! if you're truly happy in this life, you get to go to fun-time Hell! but if you punish yourself your entire life and live like a miserable drone then when you die, you come up to hang with me, in Heaven! "sinners" can have fun sinning in hell while you "good people" get changed into flying things that *gasp* live the same miserable life you did on Earth! foolish creations of mine! *chuckles* ah, humans. they just to the darndest things."

      and what about feral animals?
he created them too, didn't he?
why don't they go to heaven? man's best friend dies and is gone forever, but God's best man lives on in a parallel universe of milk and honey! see? it all works out!

      yeah. right.

if everyone is descended from Adam and Eve, we'd all be inbred retarded people and shit, you could be my brother!
imagine how ingenious a race we'd be if we descended from monkeys and mated with others who weren't part of the good 'ol immediate family! wowzers.

no waaayy, God totally hid fossils in the dirt to throw us off his trail even when apparently everyone should know he's real and exactly where he is every. waking. moment!

and now that THAT's out of my system, not that ANY of it got through to you, or even started you thinking a teeny bit for yourself, i think i'll hit "submit" and never speak to you again.

      ahh. feels good.

you take everything in the bible literally right?
so here are a few questions i must ask:

do you believe the earth is flat?(it says the earth is effectively a flat plain iside of a sphere[as in at the equator])

why does god have to be male? are all fundy christians that chauvinistic?

do you believe the bible is infallible because it says it is or because 1/3rd of its prophecies came true?

do you think its just great for a diety to come back and slaughter all heathens?
      ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
what has creationism done to help human civilization?(i know what ill do...do you?)

do you believe every animal on earth that isnt a human is inferior?

      how chauvinistic are you?

do you believe women are inferior(i personally believe they are superior)

      that is all...please answer...

      first thing's first.
i'd love to point out to you that humans ARE animals.
we have organs and blood, and *gasp* ANIMAL CELLS. we humans just glorify our existence because we assume that we're the only sentient life form on the planet. the only dominant one, at least.
      human instinct is animalistic, obviously.

the term "human nature" can refer to two things: the first being our true animalistic nature that is survival of the fittest, and the second being the moral values naturally instilled in our minds.
i'll let you take a shot at which one i'm referring to.
actually, no, i'll set it right out there for ya. make it real clear-like.
i happen to be referring to the second meaning behind the term "human nature"

these certain "moral laws", as you so aptly put them, can be taken in a variety of ways. just like any law, there are logical loopholes.
      for instance:
an argument for what you and i consider "murder"; the killing of one sentient being by another, can be that, well since we are animals after all, it might be survival of the fittest that we kill another person for something. granted, there have to be very specific reasons as to why, and it's a hard argument to win, but regular old animals do it every day. kill each other for food, to gain better shelter, anthing. the bottom line is survival. who's to say that if Jimmy didn't kill Bobby that Jimmy and his family would be alive today?
that's the excuse "good" people use when they murder a murderer with the death penalty.
how can it be wrong to kill if letting killers live either a) kills off more people or b) depletes our resources that could go to other "good" people, and if they don't these "good" people will die.

lying, cheating, stealing; some people have to if they want to live. doesn't everyone want to live?
what if they can't get an education to help them through life? if they don't steal/cheat/lie, they'll perish in the back alleys of, say, New York or Los Angeles.

humans' will to survive bypasses most moral laws because let's face it: who wants to die?

when a person gets in trouble, their first instinct is to avoid pain because pain is connected to death in every way. be it physical or mental pain.
wouldn't YOU fight back if someone randomly attacked you? or would you just stand there and take it? even YOU'RE first instinct is to defend yourself. after all, why should YOU die at the mere age of 21? you have so much left to do in life. get a steady, well-paying job. become a famous writer. get married. have kids of your own. have grandkids.

the entire point of being "godlike" is that not everyone is. only GODS are. humans can try to be more than humans, but what will you be in the end? a human. a dead, twenty-one-year-old human. who never became the writer he aspired to be. who never had a wife to grow old with or children to watch flourish.

or would you rather be some anonymous victim in the news, whose only claim to fame was not that he became a great author on his own merits, but was just a random nobody who happened to get killed by a deranged man with a bright orange flock of seagulls haircut?

    • Panda_One

i know what a doctrine is, but thanks just the same.

it sounds to me that you really have no faith in people or human nature.
it's human. nature. to want to better oneself and move up in life.
you don't need religion to want to become a better person.

what you're saying sounds like people say to themselves: "well, gee, you know what? i feel like being a lazy, murderous, rapist of small children. but i can't do that if i'm Christian. so i think i'll be agnostic. after all, i'm just 'misguided'."

belonging to a religion doesn't automatically mean that you're not a pedophile if you like to have sex with little children.

while i do agree partially to that, again there is the argument that not all atheists are "dangerous." i don't really group anyone together, truthfully. if that is what they are, that is what said person believes. if they're false in any religion or belief, then that is their choice. i don't look at things as a whole group anymore because that leaves us open as well. i mean, look at our congregation. its become something of purest intent and God's love into something about money and fame. but does that mean all Christians are full of it? absolutely not.

I didn't say that it is Christian to do what he did, but that he did it in the mindset that it was a Christian thing to do. Even if you strip all that away, he was at least an agnostic, and singled out people of a single faith for being wrong. The point I'm trying to make is that it doesn't matter what side your on, you have people committing atrocities no matter what they believe in. Which makes it not a matter of what they believe in, but how devoutly they believe in it.

as for the second comment: if you dont like a "kingdom"(aka super-corrupt power-hungry leader) people ususally move from there...and there are different levels of disloyalty, not believing your "king/god" exists is very low on that scale...especially if there is no evidence to show "he/she/it" exists...apparently you dont get the justice system very well...
