I know that I work in a call center and all, and I really want to move into a different position, but I get to talk to so many different people. And there are some many ranges of emotions that we get. I got a call from a man today and all he needed was to get his contacts back on his phone. Early in the call I learned that he had H1N1 and even though I could tell he was really sick, he was so awesome to talk to. During times where there could have been silences, he talked about his kids and his dogs. The whole process took 40 mins and I am so glad I got his call. At the end he was like "Thank you so much for all your effort and taking all this time to help me out." I was actually really bummed that he wasn't feeling well. But we get some really mean people. One of my first calls was this guy yelling at me for an hour about nothing.

And today one of the other girls got a call from a lady who yelled at her for an hour and a half, and if finally got to the point where it had to go to the supervisor that was there and she was on the phone with her for an hour. You could her this lady screaming on the other side of the phone from across the room.

So yeah, interesting people call in and hopefully I won't have to deal with too many angry people (I've been lucky so far). Though I am the queen of long calls. I've had the most called that have lasted over 15 mins. And on the bright side, I'm the only one that hasn't disconnected any lines (go me!). I'm on the phone full time starting next week, so if you call in hope that I answer. =)

      That's my work update.

      Quick updates:

So, I got my car they other week, and it's amazing! No joke. I love the gas mileage, it runs so smoothly, and I didn't know how much I would love heated seats and a sunroof. I have been going up to see Matt.... A LOT. We saw Zombie Land and Surrogates this past weekend, and this weekend we are going to his dad's to pick up the car he is getting and we are going to have a BBQ there. Zombie Land.... AMAZING! I suggest it hard core.

Work is going well, training is almost over and though we have learned so much I feel as though I haven't learned anything. I guess it's just a matter of using the info on a regular basis to get comfortable with it. And though I need some help sometimes, there are people who I am training with who are completely not with it and I don't know how well they are going to be on the floor.

Yeah that's about it. Life is great and I couldn't ask for more. Until next time.

I put a deposit on a car today. Once I get a loan through my credit union I'm going to have my first car. It's a brand new 2010 Chrysler Sebring. I had my eyes on the Avenger, but every time I inquire about one it's either they don't have it in, they sold it, or they just loaned it out. So my dad took me down to take a look at other options and said that I should test drive some other cars and that he thought I would like the feel of the Sebring. He was right. It's a nice smallish car, gets good mileage, the price was in my range, and it drives very nicely. And I wasn't looking for something with a lot of extra features, but it also has a sun roof and heated seats. BONUS.

So, I'm extremely happy with my choice and it's something that fits my life style. I drive a total of 40 mins to and from work a day on the highway, I don't have kids, it will take me to and from where Matt is with no hassle, and I won't be driving many people around so I'm not too worried about leg room.

I am so glad to have the friends I do, and they are doing amazing things. Though it seems like I am saying goodbye to them more often now. I guess that is what happens when everyone you know is in the Army.

      With that...

Good luck, Kenny! Stay safe, stay warm in Alaska, and I can't wait for your return in three years.

My life finally finished its full change and I love it. I started the new job 3 weeks ago, and even though I am still in training and will be for a long time, the company is treating me very, very well (like zomg awesome well). And now that I am not in school, I have the freedom to do whatever whenever without having to worry about 20 papers being due all in one week. Though because I am not in school... I don't have anything to do. All my friends are gone or are extremely busy themselves (all 4 of them....). So, I can't wait to finally be up doing actual work because I would love over time, and there is a damned lot of it going around.

My car search has been put on halt for the time being. Not because I can't decide, or because of financial issues, but because all the lots in the vicinity have been picked dry of all new cars and I have to wait about 2 weeks for anyone to get something in. Though I have narrowed it down between the Dodge Avenger RT and the Dodge Caliber SXT.

Matt went back to school today, I'm glad he's out of the area and it's going to be able to do stuff without being bored all the time. Though, I'll admit.... I'm bored as hell now. I'm so hoping that my new job (which starts on Monday) will keep me busy. Maybe, I'll be able to do a lot of over time after training to keep me extra super busy. But, I do miss him. And, this is nothing new since we have been going away to school for years now, and I should be used to it by now but.... blah. It's never the same without him around.

Usually before I buy anything over $100 I spend a few months doing some major research. But, I have till tomorrow to decide between 3 cars that I would want to get and spend the next 6 to 10 years with.

The three that I have narrowed it down to are the 2009 Dodge Avenger, 2009 Saturn Aura, and the 2009 Ford Fusion. My dad has an Avenger and I have fallen in love wit it, the Fusion is supposed to be super safe and I love the Ford we have parked outside (even though it's super old and almost dead), and the Aura is supposed to be very reliable (my mom has had a Saturn Vue for a few years and I am pleased with how it handles and how little work she has had to get on it). I'm not very good with cars so I need some second opinions. All I am looking for is something with good MPG (all of the above have around 33 mpg on the highway), something that will last for awhile, something that handels well in A LOT of snow (I am a Pittsburgh girl after all), and something that is durable.

Some features that I would want but don't need to have are: an embedded dashboard GPS system, a hook up for an iPod, a roomy trunk and back seat (my friends are extremely tall and I'm usually the driver), and... well, not much else because I'm not going to be too picky.

The reason why I have till tomorrow is because my dad took me out to look at cars yesterday, and the 4,500 for old gas guzzlers is going to end tomorrow and he wants to trade in our 12 year old Ford Expedition for me. I would have prepared more to make a decision, but I only knew that I might be getting a car this morning, when I thought I would be getting one next month when I start my new job (not that I am complaining).

This is a huge rant… But it has been my life for the past few months. You have been warned.

I hate it. I am through. Fuck this place. Whenever I am done I am never doing business there again, and if I do, it's because I know how to rip them off. I broke down because of how shitty my coworkers there treat me. I thought it was bad at my Johnstown store, Hell, I'd rather work for that fag manager down there then deal with the bullshit that is going on up here. I thought everything up here was all good, it was in the past, why should it change now? Well apparently something did change and everyone in my home store are ultra women haters now or something. I have been treated like shit ever since coming back.

The first incidence was when a sales associate that I knew from high school told me that I don't deserve to work at game stop because I come and go as a please (I transfer between stores for school) and that Greg, our store manager, only keeps me on because I am a girl. I kindly asked Greg to not schedule me with Chris anymore, because I refuse to deal with that bull shit. Then Dave, the asst. store manager, has been going on super power trips on me. He's always getting on my case about shit. I worked an 8 hour shift, and during that time I did ALL of their marketing while him and Chris stood around talking. So, I went behind the counter and started to lean my elbows on it to stretch my ankles and knees because they were acting up and the pain was killing me. And even though Dave was leaning against the counter himself, he yelled at me to not lean against it. I told him that I was stretching because I was hurting and to piss off (not in those exact words, but I was thinking about it). Right after, since I finished all of my work, there were no customers, and Dave and Chris were still talking, I stood behind the counter and started to swing my keys and was immediately told to stop. I put my keys down to go to the back and I come back out and Chris was standing there, with my keys in hand, swinging them. Dave is such a fucking hypocrite. After getting on my case and being all macho in front of Chris, Chris left, and automatically I was Dave's best friend in the whole entire world and he even hinted to me that he wanted me to drive him home (he takes the bus to and from work).

Then yesterday he was doing category counts on some games. So, I come in, everything was done for the day. The store was dead, so I started to get together the outbound shipping to other stores (RSBs from here on out). He says to me "What are you doing?" "I'm going to start on RSBs, there is nothing else to do right now." "No, I want to finish these cat counts that I am on." "Ok... well you can do that if you want (you can only do them one section at a time on one computer, otherwise I would have started the next section, but he was already in the middle of scanning used 360 games) in the mean time I am going to do RSBs." "Fine, whatever then." He would have rather that I stood around doing nothing then ship out the 200 games that needed to go to other stores and got so PISSED OF AT ME that I was being productive. So, I finished shipping, did 2 (out of the 3 left) category counts, and by that time it was time to close the store.

So today rolls around, I got into the store at 9:30 to open. I had some computer problems and couldn't clock in until 9:55. So I open the store. Finish all the price changes (all 100 of them), do the morning counts, clean up my papers and the desk, process all of the shipping, and by this time it was 12:45 (my shift ended at 1). And I saw that the 360 needed reworked from last week because some fuck off didn't do it. So, I'm doing that while Dave walks in. I told him all that was left to do was used ps2 counts. He didn't have to do anything for the rest of the day except for this. I made sure that he didn't have to do anything because I know it would take 1-2 hours to get everything done. He got angry with me, even though I couldn't help that I wasn't able to get the used counts done (even though it's only Tuesday and it usually takes them until Thursday to finish RSB's and Cat counts, so I put them ahead of schedule by 2 days). So, I tell him about this morning and I say that I need my clock in time changed to 9:30. And then he goes off on me saying, "You where here at 9:30?" "Yes... Why?" "Your shift started at 9" "What difference does it make?" "Your shift goes from 9-1, so you better be here from 9-1. You got that? You will be here at 9 tomorrow" "Greg always gets to work late. He gets here at 9:45 all the time." "Well, that's Greg. You will be here at 9." I have a few problems with this statement and I'll explain why.

Problem 1) If our store manager doesn't even get there when he is scheduled, why the Hell would he care if I got there at 9:30 instead of 9. And if Greg isn't hold a standard of when we clock in, then Dave can't get on anyone’s ass about being there on "time."

Problem 2) Greg doesn't care that I am there at 9:30, he has said so himself. Greg also leaves early everyday (and I am talking he will leave at 1 when he is scheduled till 5:30) and call off from work once a month.

Problem 3) Last night Dave told Dave S (aka cool Dave from now on. He's an associate and the only person that is left that I like) to leave 30 mins early and for me to close at 9:15 last night instead of 9:30 to cut back on hours. So why is he getting all high and mighty today when he was telling us to leave early last night.

Problem 4) I have been coming in at 9:30 from work instead of 9 for the past 4 years. He has never said anything in the past about it. Nor should he because that's not his damned job. I can open the store by 10, have everything that I need done by 10 to let customers in, and it only takes my a half an hour to do so. So, why sit around and do fuck nothing for 30 mins and waste "precious company hours" that we are always short on.

      Continued in comments.

It's been awhile since I updated/kept in touch, but I have been living life... even if it has been a bit dull, I am enjoying it bunches. Matt came home from Airborne and we spent a lot of time hanging out. This past weekend, my friend moved back up to PA after 3 years of being gone. And, tonight, I FINISHED MY DIPLOMA. I celebrated by eating a warm dinner at a local restaurant with my friends (aka I was hungry and they wanted to get food too).

Right now I'm just waiting for the real job to start, so I am going to lay back and wait for Aug. 31st to roll around. Probably going to go on a few trips (oh I am really hoping that I am going to go on a few trips), and I am going to hang out with Matt lots (when he gets back from his week long family vacation), and I am going to watch lots of shows/movies on netflix (which is what I mostly do on XBL anymore; I need this break from video games).

And I am tired... Night all.

Matt's been gone for 3 weeks now and will be home Friday night. I'm so glad he was able to go down and train, but it has been a very long 3 weeks. I have been so bored, but I'm just saying that out of being selfish and wanting him home. But soon enough, he'll be home.

Most of my friends are moving to/ back to Pittsburgh. It's going to be awesome. Especially when Bry gets back up here he's been gone for 3-4 years now. Tennessee doesn't need him anymore. And Melanie wants to move up from Johnstown which is super cool.

Mel has an interview for a job up here on Friday. And depending on how Matt feels we are going to see Harry Potter. And we are going to be super nerds and dress up for it. Hopefully we can get pictures. =)

You should and will go thanks to my master plan.

      You shop, I explain:
      1 cardboard, 4' x 7'
      1 set of paints
      1 artist
      1 motion-electronics kit
      1 robotics kit
      3 change of clothes
      1 towel

We take the cardboard and bring it to the artist (I know a couple that owe me favors). Have them do it up so it is a virtual lifelike copy of you. Next I take the motion-electronics kit to wire together a motion detection system that clicks on a Nextel device linked to a unit you will have. The robotics kit will move it around the store and apply liberal doses of karate chops to any customers it encounters, then it takes the bodies and stocks them for deportation to my slave camp luxury estate off the coast of a non-extradition nation. Then if a manager or coworker asks something, you can use the Nextel to chirp back a reply. If they ask what that weird chirp is, you just say you have that new superswine flu, for which they'll give you the rest of the weekend off with pay (at least they will when Robo-Majo starts to simulate coughing all over the store). Now that you have three days off you are fully covered for the weekend we'll be there, hence three days of clothes. The towel, well, you should always have a towel at the read, that goes without saying.

You not going makes me sad, like going to Radio Shack and finding out the circuit writing pens aren't in stock. And trust me, I love those f'ing circuit writing pens. =(

Can't really complain about that these days. I'm starting my second job in just over a week and it sounds like it'll be pretty good, I'll be able to pay off stuff while having some left over, but the fact that it's only a summer job has got me worried. Hopefully an opportunity will present itself in that time to stay on longer.

Well I guess not enjoying them is acceptable ... for now. smiley8.gif I do have to agree with you, I feel like I'm going to fall out of the Jack Rabbit every time I ride it. Yeah the water rides are fun. Last time I was there, I managed the impossible: half my shirt was bone dry after getting off the Raging Rapids; I had the Two-Face thing going for me. I jokingly walked up to the employee working the beginning of the ride and complained that I only got half wet. She proceed to dump her water bottle on the dry part. Ahh fond memories.

That's the best time to go to Kennywood; you can date yourself by reminding the damn little kids that you rode the original Steel Phantom, back when it had loops and guaranteed neck strain! Or remind them of times when we could actually get into Kennywood without paying an entrance fee and had to buy those tickets for rides. I'm going to be such a horrible curmudgeon. Anywho, enjoy it tomorrow!

Rambo dreams are never demented, unless they star Frank Stallone, then they're just disturbing. You should learn to take control of your dreams like Butters in the Imaginationland episode of South Park. You'll always have happy dreams once you can bring Jesus with an M80 in to watch your back.

At least they're not like my dreams. Ever since I babysat Dan's scorpions for a summer I have the most intense scorpion dreams now and again where they get lose and take on superzombie characteristics.

There's a reason I'm an Emperor, I'm the reigning Heavyweight Interwebbing Champion of the World. That and it has something to do with my next journal post, so it was not all posting in vain. In vanity, yes, but in vain, no. All will be revealed as soon as I get 8 more hours of sleep.
