Anybody have any clue who some dude with the gamertag of "i of Odin" is? They just shoot me a random friend request, saying they saw me on a Bungie group yesterday.

Funny thing about that, I haven't been on Bungie in a long time, and I checked their profile, we aren't in ANY of the same groups.

      It's Mech, OBVSLY!

Also, anyone from I4 feel like playing some zombies again for the hell of it? Or perhaps some Gears?

Is awesome. Saw them in concert last week. Amazing show, purely amazing. Also, the personalized, presale floor tickets from NIN.com were a nice touch.

For those of you who have not seen what their current tour is like. Check out that article from Wired.com. The pictures and video don't quite do it justice in my opinion. I really wished I could have gone backstage to see all of the technology behind the show and talk to some of the people from Moment Factory (company behind all the technology) and anyone else who had a hand in designing the show. The whole show was basically one giant video game, you could tell it wasn't pre-rendered because the drum beat machine that was being shown on the back screen, glitched out during Echoplex and it took the drummer a few tries to shut off two of the beats.

I have a new goal in life. Build a stealth screen.

      Also...

      I'M NOT DEAD YET!

I HAVE to say something where someone might possibly see it and save themselves embarrassment in the future.

A while back, I made a journal about a FIRST robotics competition, in it I mentioned how some of my teammates started making a little bit of a scene in the hotel and I went off on them about it. In the past week, I have had similar incidents occur with people representing different organizations coming around knocking on dorm doors...

Each time, they were all wearing shirts from their respective fraternity or sorority, collecting money or cans or something for a charity, whatever. I gave to some of them, but I can't give to all of them. I turned some of them away saying "Sorry, I really don't have anything I can donate." A few of the people were nice about it and simply said "Okay, thanks." Most were not so considerate. I just had two girls representing a sorority asking for change, when I said I didn't have anything, the one girl said "Okay, thanks." When she told the other girl she was with, as I closed my door, the other girl said "Liar..." loudly.

I do not appreciate that. I almost chewed them out right there, but I was not going to stoop to that petty level.

The point is, when you are representing a group, act accordingly. I am never going to remember who that girl was, or what she looked like, all I remember is the greek symbols on their shirts which corresponded with their sorority. In future, I will not be inclined to assist their group in any endeavor they may attempt. Should someone ask me for my opinion of their sorority, I will answer "I'm not impressed, they are rude, inconsiderate, and very unprofessional."

When you are on your own time, what you do will be linked to you, the second you put on a shirt or something that tells the world you are a representative of a group, that is the main thing people will see and remember. Act accordingly or take it off and be an idiot by yourself.

So yeah, Sunday was my birthday.

      Yay me!

Real journal possibly coming in near future, sometime, maybe, stuff.

Also, hang gliding was awesome. Pictures will be shown if school ever stops giving me more stuff to do. Ahhhh, college, I feel like I should be playing Taps in memory of my free time.

(Not that I've been active much on here, MSN, or LIVE...)

I'm leaving for the Outer Banks tomorrow with a bunch of friends. Be gone for a week. I have absolutely no idea of the internet situation down there, so you won't see me on LIVE (not taking my 360), and I probably won't be on here either. If all I have is dial-up, I won't even bother.

I'll post the pictures from the balloon rally when I get back (got some good ones), along with any pictures from my next trip. I want to try hang-gliding at Kitty Hawk (of all the places in the world to fly anything...) and we're supposed to be going deep-sea fishing.

Incidentally, I did buy that Audi. I went back and looked at it, and realized that I was an idiot for even considering passing it up. Thanks for all your input, too. I'll mention a little something about it later. It's got some interesting points to it that I hadn't noticed before.

Oh, and the newest and last Harry Potter book kicks ass.

Yep, another one, hey, I gotta make up for lost time! Plus I know people hate REALLY long journals, this is just one big journal broken up into two, which is totally better, right?

Finally got some air time the other night. The wind didn't die down in time for us to get a full flight in, so we just hung around the airport, and my dad did some instructional tether time. (A tether is when the balloon is held to the ground by a couple of ropes, controlled by the crew who sometimes make a game out of swinging the balloon around in the air...). I got some burner time in, and my dad's friend did also. I must say that I did better than I thought I was going to. I guess watching so many balloon pilots all these years paid off, or maybe I'm just that good. XD

It was fun, but I really want to fly an actual flight soon, tethering just isn't the same.

And apparently sponsorshipless, I shall have to remedy that this afternoon. I like that little gold star too much to let it go.

I took a break from all things electronic for a few weeks. Finals, projects, and just general exhaustion from everything. I tend to do that every year. I usually have two major crashes. One around Mother's Day weekend (I usually end up getting sick because I push myself too hard and kill my immune system) and one at the end of the year. I was trying to avoid that this time around (and finish up my senior year of high school on a high note). I sort of succeeded. I still feel a little exhausted, it's been really hard to get up in the morning; no matter if I've gotten 6 or 12 hours of sleep.

From what I did get to play of the Halo 3 Beta (not much, only a few hours), I like it. Plus, it felt like old times with everyone on Halo 2. Mech getting mad at the other team, Ruby seeming to be everywhere at the same time, Me basically sucking but pulling off a few cool surprises, Squee starting at a lower rank than me and then surpassing me in less than an hour... ya know, the usual stuff.

Anyways, now I'm officially (well, I don't have the diploma yet) gradumacated from big kid school. The last day was, memorable I guess. My senior class was going to continue a tradition started last year, and have a picnic out in the parking lot during the last day. Unfortunately, some idiots from my class broke into the school to play a class prank and got us restricted to our classrooms during the day. Plus some stupid sophomore decided that it would be a good idea to waltz into school in the morning, and pour vegetable oil down the hallways. As a result of all of that, we had police in the building, and outside "supervising" everyone as they left so that no water balloon fights happened or any sort of celebration. People were pissed, but most of us were pissed at the people responsible, not our principal who made the decision to cancel all festivities.

I'm kind of disappointed that I haven't found the right vehicle for me yet. I have to register it with my college by August 1st, and the clock is ticking. I'm picky and that's the problem. I'm looking for a 1999 (or newer) Audi A4 Quattro, with the Sport Package (since that means it has the trim and such of an S4, and I love those). I'm leaning more towards the Tiptronic transmission than the Standard, I'm not really used to having to shift (the last standard car we owned was the Corvette, and that went bye-bye a few years ago). I'd probably get the hang of it easily enough, but I'm just thinking that I might get pissed off by having to shift while driving, and a Tiptronic would offer some of the same functionality of a standard transmission. Still, I'm not sure. If any of you have a preference, thought, or comment on transmissions, please don't hesitate to share!

Now, on to my watchlist, it's kind of big. For any of you who watch CrazyPotatoes( ; P ), even he wrote a journal in my absence, that gives you an idea of how long I've been ignoring my watchlist for.

      Suck...

      So far, thanks to this stupid thing, I've missed;

A 4 day weekend of the Halo 3 Beta (not that I would spend all 4 days on it mind you)

Several car auctions (I'm shopping around for one, probably checked all of the possible dealers in the area and online, so far I haven't found the one I want. Yes, I'm picky, but hey, nothing says I have to write the check until I'm satisfied with the product).

Several days I could have gone shooting.

A couple of balloon flights. (I want to get my sport pilot's license as soon as I can, that takes air-time though).

Ugh, a few more weeks of this... just a few more... then summer, at which time I shall catch up on my watchlist (probably by hitting Clear Alerts on everyone except for people I actually converse with). So if I haven't gotten to your journals or anything, it's because I'm a bit busy at the moment.

Oh, and Scrag, if you read this, you're a sneaky bastard!

...about the TV Studio that makes people act crazy?

Today, one of my friends decided that it'd be cool if his life was a musical. His reason? Everytime something happened, he'd get up and dance, sing, everyone around him would join in, and life would be great! Sooo... he suddenly burst into song and dances around the studio.

      8 Handheld DV Camcorders
2 HD DV Studio quality Cameras
      6 Digital Cameras
      Miles of DV Tape
      Terabytes worth of harddrive space
At least 6 cellphones capable of taking pictures and/or video

And nobody gets so much as a snapshot...

We all froze with our mouths hanging open, and then laughing our heads off, as my friend went through this whole seemingly choreographed routine. All the while, singing this hilarious song he made up about the TV Studio class.

Seriously, I swear he practiced it, but he says he didn't. The sad part is? All I had to do was just tap the Spacebar on the keyboard in front of me to cue the main Studio camera and I could have recorded the whole thing.

Oh, and "Mr. Blue" (the jerk of a teacher I mentioned in my really long rant journal prior to this one) hasn't been in since Tuesday, and we've put together some of our best shows yet while he's been gone. Hopefully the school will put the episodes on the district website soon, then I'll post a link to a good one.

I've been seeing quite a few people freaking out about the supposed virus that freezes your computer and then kills it if you restart it or hit Ctrl + Alt + Del

Relax people... it's a hoax... it's not new either. I would have thought that people would have caught on by now, but I saw several people in the Tech Forum warning someone about it the other day. Doesn't anybody ever bother to check these things? Apparently not.

      It was confirmed by Symantec.

So if any of you see someone spreading news of this virus around, tell them to knock it off and give 'em this link if they tell you to shut up.

Eventually I'll post an actual journal, once I have the time. I'm kinda busy at the moment.

I tried using the charge kit too lol. I think the only way to use a wirelss 360 controller is by buying that little thing they made for it. You can get a wired controller pretty cheap though.

I have halo2 vista now, I find it to be a real blast despite the scaled down graphics from the xbox version. The biggest complaint I have is how vehicles handle with a mouse, DAAAAAMN thats a slow reaction when turning. I'm going try playing with a controller when I get back home.

    • Elce_R

You didn't have any bug problems or anything with it? And yeah the game sounds like it was developed with controller in mind (being it is a GFWL product). I might get it from my brother next time I see him as he never uses his, and I don't trust 360 emulation software.

The laptops are Gateway E475M, 15.4 inch display (1650 x 1050 I think?), mid level Radeon Graphics, 2.2 ghz core 2 duo, 2 gigs of ram, 80 HD, DVD burner, card reader. Laptops come with a 4 year warranty with accidental damage protection and a top loading laptop case. Laptops also come with the COMPLETE office 2007 suite (include Visio and Project). All that for about $1500. Sound good?

Yeah, the Cherokees came with a strait six, the grands came with the I6 and two V8 choices (4.8 and a 5.7 hemi). They are cramped, but they go like a raped ape.

It was daylight when you woke up in your ditch. You looked up at your sky. That made blue be your
color. You had your knife there with you, too. When you stood up, there was goo all over your
clothes. Your hands were sticky. You wiped them on your grass, so now your color was green. Oh,
lord, why did everything have to keep changing like this. You were already getting nervous again. Your
head hurt, and it rang when you stood up. Your head was amost empty. It always hurt you when you
woke up like this. You crawled up out of your ditch, onto your gravel road, and you began to walk,
waiting for the rest of your mind to come back to you. You could see the car parked far down the
road, and you walked toward it. If god is our father, you thought, then Satan must be our cousin. Why
didn't anyone else understand these important things. When you got to your car, you tried all the doors.
They were locked. It was a red car, and it was new. There was an expensive leather camera case
laying on the seat. Out across your field you could see two tiny people walking by your woods. You
began to walk towards them. Now red was your color. And of course, those little people out there
      were yours, too.

Couldn't find a price for CA, and nobody would call us with one either. So we told 'em to get bent and purchased BitDefender. It has a very easy to use network deployment ability and it does spyware/adware/malware/greyware/whateverware. Has a pretty small footprint as well, and the price wasn't bad (about $5500 for 300 licenses...or so if I remember correctly. I'll get a better price tomorrow for ya).
