      Hey guys,

I came on to write a few updates but also because we lost one of our 18 year olds in our church. She was born with a few health issues and it finally just took her. Please pray for her and her family. Thank you! smiley12.gif

Also, I recently moved into a new apartment. I got tired of waiting for a new job to move and just did it. My parents were furious and comical, but I needed to do this for myself.

Truthfully, that's the only real update I have! Hope you guys are doing well... I'm catching up on your lives!! You can always give me the cliffnotes version though. smiley12.gifsmiley12.gif

At least for the next week…

My parent's went to India for 3 WEEKS... I'm currently ending week two of their departure and have one more week of solitude left. It has been wonderful to say the least. I was scared to death the first couple days and had my friend Bobby come over to just settle some fears, after that I was fine! I'm getting use to being home by myself. My cat is a little super affectionate and has to sit in my lap all the time.

At Church we just finished our Regional Retreat! This is the two missions in our area (Dallas and Houston) come together and has a day of GOD! The kids planned it on Feb., 14th; Yes I had the best Valentine's day because I was at church celebrating GOD. Granted I did a lot of the organizing and was running around the whole day fixing all kinds little things. The only negative side was an uncle who was disapproving about the fact we had Marthoma speakers at a catholic event. He kept going on and on about to anyone that would hear and cause a ton of Drama. So I told him off on Sunday, not in a bad way, but in a stern way. He eventually apologized and said he appreciates everything I do for the church. It's a huge thing when an uncle at church apologizes!! So I see this as a win!

At work I'm still not happy, but I'm just doing what I need to in order to get through the day. I had a second interview for a job that I might enjoy. I found out 3 other people had a second interview, not great odds... I'll find out later this week about that. I've still been looking all kinds of places for positions, but as they say.. in this economy....

Personally I've been talking to someone since November and I feel like I should be in that "He's just not into you!" movie. We have had two dates (one which was 5 hours and one were 7 hours) and we had a ton of fun. He lives in Houston and we talk on the phone very rarely, most communication is done in text or chat form which I don't like. I try calling more often but he says he's busy and can't be on the phone. He hasn't made any advance as far as telling me this is heading in a relationship direction. I get bored easy when it comes to these situations and I'm getting into Friend Zone myself. He claimed he is an affectionate kind of person so maybe that was my hint!! hehe.

that's it for me. Obviously there's not too much going on!

      Hello Roostertooth Community,

I know I haven't written in a while and I planned on just catching up on everyone, but there is something in
our nation which I really believe needs to be addressed. there is a
new act going in to Legislation which would eliminate EVERY
      restrcition on abortion NATIONWIDE.

FOCA(Freedom of Choice Act) would do away with state laws on parental
involvement on partial birth abortion and on all otehr protections.
It will compel tax funding of abortions and worse of all faith based
hospitals and healthcare facilities to perform abortions. Catholic
hospitals have decided if they do pass this they will all be closing
      their doors.

Please visit the website and fight this http://www.fightfoca.com/

We can not let God's creation be killed without a fight! This is the
saddest thing I think we as humans have ever thought up.

      God Bless and Keep praying,

I was thinking about the time of year it was and I realized I completely missed my One Year Anniversary on the site (8.23.07). I joined in an effort to get to know my then boyfriend's friends and over a year later I'm still here with the complete feeling I have friends here!!! I wanted to say a Thank you for everyone who took the huge effort to reach out to me when I first joined and to the people who have stuck around! smiley0.gifsmiley0.gifsmiley0.gifsmiley12.gifsmiley0.gifsmiley0.gifsmiley0.gif .

Nothing new has been happening with me. Still living at home, at the same job, and same single life! smiley3.gif I'm working on my resume because it was crap and luckily I'm having people help me. Currently, looking to possibly move out of Dallas; thinking of going to Houston, Chicago, New York, or back to Austin. If you notice I'm all over the place. smiley1.gif

I'm catching up on everyone's journals and stuff. Good to know collectively everyone is doing well!

smiley9.gif If you are a doctor YOU CAN NOT and WILL NOT talk to a doctor directly if he is seeing patients!

smiley9.gif If you wouldn't want your doctor to leave your exam room to answer a call then don't ask them to do it for you!

My Fatherhas since returned to work and even though he is legally blind he has recieved permission to continue driving! Scary thought huh? He only drives to and from work. I have to do all the other driving.
Luckily, my mom is getting her cast off Tomorrow and it couldn't be better. She has grown increasingly crazy over the past 5 weeks, to the point I got in trouble for being a Sunday school teacher. Don't ask.
My older sister, brother-in-law, and baby will be coming in next weekend which makes me happy. I get to babysit all day Saturday while they are at the wedding! I love my baby!
My little sister and I have been playing phone tag and have no time to talk it's wierd. This is the person I used to talk to everyday and now I get maybe once a week.. That sucks smiley2.gif

      best_job_lg.jpg

I'm still at the same dead end job I've been at and since I have just been keeping a low profile it's been tolerable. I spend most of the day dealing with annoying people and watch Hulu.com(great site if you don't kow about it).
I went through a WHAT DO I REALLY WANT TO DO WITH MY LIFE issue yesterday and took a career assessment test. The results were Education first and tie for second, Business and healthcare. Which is exactly what I have been looking for. I love community outreach and prevention programs, I guess I'm on the right track I just need a job!

      The_Single_Girls_Guide-300.jpg

Beyond some of my friends wishes I'm still single and very happy about it. I think I really just want to take care of me! Plus, between my best friend and an ex-boyfriend that reentered my life I have to say I have the parts of a relationship I like taken care of. My parents have been on my back and are completely pissed at thinking I would have been married in three months if it wasn't for my own stupidity as they say. Oh well, I full confidence in God that things will work out for the best! I will enjoy my last ______ as a single girl!

Okay this was long enough for me!

This was something sent to me by one of Jenga's Cousins actually. I found it quite distrubing. I thought as a Indian Christian we were mostly left alone. We only make up 3% of the population so the Hindu population didn't really care about us. Apparently, now they do.

One of friend's uncle was brutal murdered by these people and it needs to be known that this is happening.

      September 24 at 10:03pm
      Reply Brothers&Sisters,

There is a lot of religious persecution of Christians in India. The India government has stood by as priest have been killed, nuns raped, the reigious Churches burned, and the people and their families killed or tormented. Fundamental Hindu groups are leading this packet as the government offers no response to this incredibile genocide.

Please pray for or religious freedom. THIS IS NOT AN INDIVIUAL INCIDEN--IT IS OCCURRING IN ORISSA, JANSHEDPUR,JHARKAND, UTTERR PRADESH,UTTARKHAND, AND ACROSS INDIAN. There are devastating things going on and I beg of you all to pray that God's message of love will sound loud and clear. Religious freedom will ring in India, I pray.

    • My Week!

      Mavs_girl

      Sleep.jpg

This is what I need after this week.
      Monday
      EdMolMoving.jpg
I'm offically back in with my parents, I'm still cleaning everything and getting settled.

      Tuesday
      van_crash-1.jpg
My parents got into a car accident! They are okay so don't worry. My dad has two fractured ribs and he's being great. My mom broke her wrist and bumped her knee, but she's being intolerable. I knew she was okay to begin with because we were in the ER and she yelled at me at least 3 times. That lady is a piece of work. The were driving in the far left lane and someone rammed them on the right side. This sent my mom going into the median and Totalled the van. Not their fault but the lady didn't have insurance so our insurance is covering things.

      Wednesday
      Smurfs_Color_Pictures_Nurse_Smurfette.jp
I was running around doing EVERYTHING for my mom.. She kept heat on her knee and messed it up more. She also had my dad running around which isn't good for him. Let's just say it wasn't the best day. I was taking care of insurance, and a million other things to do.

      Thursday & Friday
      working_moms_mothers_day_1.jpg
I actually looked forward to getting back to work after a week like this. I hate it here, but I hate it at home to... I should really think about my life when I say things like this..

Either way I'm tired and need rest, but that won't happen for a while! smiley12.gif
      Went back to work!!!

Yeah. I remember what that was like. It was a bit of a miracle every month when all bills were paid and I had money enough to eat and go see a movie. I remember being really lonely too. That's a huge part of why I ended up getting a cat.

Part of my difficulty is that I'm trying to completely change careers. I'm looking for something in HR or training or really any support function within a company. I have excellent computer skills, am a very good communicator, I LOVE organizing data, things and people and every where I go I make it more efficient. I am an incredibly fast learner so even if I don't know anything when I walk in I will pick it up and rapidly with little guidance. I've always had a small learning curve. The difficulty is conveying that to prospective employers. I know I'm awesome, but the person reviewing my resume and application only has my word to go on.

Oh no I wasn't offended. I just thought I'd let you know why it was as long as it was. The issue is really complicated.

Of course, the harder thing about stuff in India is that none of the sources of information are trustworthy. All you ever hear are the missionaries on one side and the Shiv Sainaks on the other and the government is too corrupt to actually give a balanced story.

I was actually going to make a thread on whether there should be any limits to freedom of expression when it specifically stirs up trouble and was planning on using the case of Pentecostal missions in India and Latin America as the case study.
I have been doing research on the issue for the past week or so to try to get an unbiased sense of what's going on. And then I saw Jenga's journal, so I decided I would just spew forth all the stuff I had learned about it.
