This time last year I was in Austin with 500 great people that helped me have the greatest birthday party ever. This year RT has seen fit to give me a great present that I will cherish all through this season. I don't ask for a lot in life, this year my parents are paying for a tooth that I need pulled. Love and devotion is all I need, and that is what I receive from RT. The love of their work and devotion to bringing together some of the greatest minds in the entertainment world. Thanks Rooster Teeth, for another fantastic year and another amazing birthday.

I love cooking, but I don't do it often enough. Because I didn't work last night I had the chance to make dinner for my family. I don't do this often because I am usually not home at dinner. Reaching into my small know-how of cooking I decided to make pasta. Fast forward 1 head of garlic, 1 onion, 1 jalapeno, many small tomatoes and 3 large chicken breasts; me and my family ate like kings. While I was making dinner I decided to try some dessert. Baking is one of my better hobbies, but I only do it when I get in the mood (like my other hobbies). So I found a recipe for a pumpkin cheese cake in the America's Test Kitchen cookbook. I like ATK but the recipes are so complex that I often over look them, but cheese cakes are complex anyway so I decided to go for it and see what came out. After several hours of putting everything together and the right time, temperature, and quantity (meaning how much at one time, yes ATK is that picky) I put my cake in the oven. An hour and a half later I brought the cake out and realized that I needed to continue using the ATK cookbook because the cake was perfect. The perfect look, aroma, and the slightest of cracking. This is why I cook, smoke and drink. For those times where everything comes together in perfect harmony and suddenly the world is in balance. Would that I could live this way forever.
In other news I just purchased a piece of Cocobolo that I intend to turn into a very pretty cane with a black glass top, and a bunch of small Cocobolo pieces for a chess set I plan on carving. Pics will follow when the project actually starts.

It's been a long summer. After RTX I started living on my own, I loved it but it also drained my bank account and that leaves me in a bad spot. I've decided to continue on in college but may have chosen the wrong semester to get in to wood technology. Not only do I have to buy wood for the small projects that we're doing throughout the two classes, but I also have to buy a sample of exotic wood. I expect to spend as much on that small piece of wood as I do on an entire project. I am going to find that hard to do as I can't even buy books for any of my classes because I spent that money on tuition. On the up side I am really enjoying all my classes and am looking foreword to what I can learn this year. I'm branching into a new field and it might be the one for me. At least I hope, because I've been at this for four years and I have nothing even close to a degree. Oh well, I guess we'll always need doctors;)

      Fucking Tornadoes

So if you haven't heard, the worst tornado went through Joplin earlier this week, and let me just say: Thank God for Greyhound. My original plan had been to travel by air, but for financial reasons I decided to save a couple hundred dollars and go by bus. I thought that this was a great plan until my sister (who is smarter and more experienced than me) informed me that the bus is full of meth-heads and that I would be stabbed while riding it. Well all I can say now is that I would rather be traveling by bus than stuck in Pittsburg without a flight. Go Greyhound, it's eco-friendly and hopefully my bus has power outlets and wifi.

  • About Me

I am a student at Pittstate, one of two collages that offer a wood tech degree, and that is the program I participate in. I love making things and can't wait to work in a professional shop.
