      Really, how juvenile can one get? "I won't talk to Person B." No burying the hatchet, and yet name-calling on both sides. Seriously, graduation cannot come fast enough. When it happens BOTH people I am removing from my life. Neither wants me to associate with the other, or talk to the other. Both are in "leadership" roles. Both want to "visit" and "be friends" after graduation.

      NO.

      Been down this road (kinda) before. I know one road which not to take: take it personally, and/or try to get them to sort it out. Just two weeks.... two weeks.... Hopefully Person A hasn't burnt so many bridges he can't keep the (only) veterans group on campus alive another year. It's really not that hard, but does take a group effort. His enemy: "group" or "teamwork". Person A's enemy: "leadership" and "direction."

      Ug. Both as bull-headed as meteors.

      I can't wait to be rid of these two toxic people.

      If I can't get a job in engineering, I'll be doing projects at home probably doing a security job. But at least the bills will be paid and the employer already said I could take small projects to work as long as it doesn't interfere with work (Some take gaming consoles to work so I don't think a small Arduino will be distracting.....) I'd rather take a pay cut and be happy with my job than a pay raise and be miserable.

      Was up until 2am studying and reviewing notes for upcoming tests. Got woken up by Kaida about 8:30 or so... which was when Jerrod got in from work and went to bed - he woke me up too while calling his boss saying he'd be in tonight for work at 3pm (initially we had agreed he take comp time tonight so I could study). Now while reviewing Operating Systems and First Aid (I'm still surprised at how much has changed and how some of it hasn't)... I start on my set of chores (dishes, floors, fish, cat, and dusting) just to get back-talked by Kaida then proceeded into an argument with her over a decision I made: no more TV/movies/etc for the rest of the day due to her not listening. I go to give her a little pat on the bottom (I clap in applause harder), she went to block with her hands and jarred her fingers - ran of yelling "I hate mommy." I just want to leave. I'm tired of fighting.

      * I should be looking for jobs
      Resume is a POS, and Cover Letter is a failure too. "Too long of an employment gap for a 28yr old." "Not enough time active duty." "GPA is not high enough."

      * I should be focusing on senior design... and all the issues with the camera processing
      Damn Pixy. Good idea, but it's a pain in the ass to work with. Lighting has to be right, sensitivity needs to be right, and object's coloration needs to be right. Needless to say I'm working my butt off trying to figure out how to get the thing to track colored LEDs and not colored objects. That was before the professor changed the lighting from home-based to industrial. Tech specs aside, that changes frequencies, colorations, and sensitivity needed for the sensors.

      * I should be able to figure out how to get two friends to talk to each other again
      * I should be able to save the veterans group on campus from splitting
      Going hand in hand. I found out one friend violated a signed agreement for university functions (he signed it without reading it). The other friend was non-objective and instantly took the side of another person and the whole situation is a clusterfuck. If this is what CO's have to do with, send me down to security.

      * I should be able to figure out Kaida's future education (home-school vs public vs private)
      Fucking Common Core. Did you know there are now 4 primary colors? I didn't. And she's supposed to be able to count to 100 before Kindergarten. Plus with all the drugs, cheating, and bullying in the upper tier of the nation (plus one of the lowest rates to go to college or graduate)... other options must exist.

      * I should be working out
      There is no moto/mojo/determination. Is this what defeated feels like?

      * I should be practicing for my upcoming Krav Maga test
      Why? Been taking classes for years and yet to graduate anything beyond level 0.

      * I should be the good wife of doing lessons with Kaida, and holding the house together.
      Instead I'm doing engineering courses and work as dishes pile up, laundry doesn't get done until there is nothing more clean... Then getting ridiculed at home for not holding up my end, and the same at school. Is this 4yr boot camp?

      * I should be more active in the organizations I'm a lead officer in
      I should be doing events beyond meetings and phone calls.

      * I should be able to figure out a simple assignment
      One program... can't figure out what language or file extension the end-result is to have.

      * I should not be so sick (Pneumonia 2x in 45 days)
      ...though I am with a few new things. VA isn't trustworthy enough to take me seriously when I say something is wrong. It's always the cold/flue/unknown.

      * But I'm not any of the above.
      ... so I was thinking. Does this make me less of a Marine? Less of a Mom? Less of a Wife? I don't know, and I don't know where I am anymore. Sane? Insane? Depressed? Stressed? Anxious? Panic?

      Megan327

      Going to school full-time, plus martial arts, volunteer work, officer work, and family... life is so busy it should be renamed "life in the Agoge system." Why? Here's the to-do list

      Before Monday morning:
      * finish getting a meeting going of all new club members and when we're going to be held accountable for our PT standards
      * laundry
      * finish disinfecting from the flooded bathroom (toilet over-flowed)
      * do all the dishes
      * take out last week's trash
      * finish formula sheet for balanced 3 way voltage sources (Circuits II)
      * finish 2 sections of 30 problems each of Calculus III
      * finish 2 chapters worth of problems for Circuits I (yes, I'm re-doing Circuits I)
      * try to understand what's going on in Physics II (quiz Monday morning)
      * cook dinner tonight
      * finish dusting the apartment

      For Tuesday:
      * start Circuits Lab presentation slides

      Within in the week:
      * practice A,B,C's with Kaida and 1-20
      * practice katas up to 2nd degree yellow belt
      * dry-run all taught material in Krav Maga
      * finish maps for D&D campaign (yes, I'm a Dungeon Master)
      * laminate PT cards
      * re-schedule (equestrian) dressage lesson
      * compile grocery list & gather coupons for Thursday

      Before May:
      * purchase a new pair of shoes (mine has holes in the rubber soles)
      * maybe purchase a pair of riding boots
      * type up and finish camping checklist
      * complete June, July, and August monthly financial budgets
      * finish July family schedules
      * get Kaida enrolled in the Russellville Child Development program for toddlers (she's not wanting to learn from Mom or Dad)
      * purchase Kaida's swimwear for this year.

      Before August:
      * get suit tailored
      * get FASFA done
      * buy a pair of dress shoes for suit
      * get club official and recruitment statements out to Department Heads
      * contact Lieutenant
      * get to first major battle of Part 3 of "Black", and finish it
      * Find $40 bucks for IEEE student fees
      * Pay $250 for all officer fees for new club
      * loose 20lbs
      * phone in update of GPA and phyical activity level to Lieutenant Maits.
      * get a physical done stating nothing is wrong with me for Lieutenant Maits.

      And I'm sure somewhere in there, I'm suppose to either re-build Rome or Sparta with a Monastery within the society.

      Jerrod got me a headset with a microphone. So now, comrades, when we play, you can hear me and I can voice my opinion on what we do, etc. Be warned, the last time anyone heard my voice on Live was back in early 2006. Phone call, well, there's one person on Live who has heard it back in 2008, but still... voices change.

      Of my grades, and everyone else's.

      For Electronic Circuits 1 at least, the highest I'm aware of anyone getting is a 74%. Majority of the class is in the low D's range, with mine being a 58%. So I'm right where I normally am in the large picture of results, but the ending digits are no where near where they normally are (B's range). Took my Differential Equations test on Friday, and got Physics tomorrow morning with a Krav Maga pseudo test tomorrow night with my instructor's instructor coming in for it.

      And ontop of all of that, I'm sick. Don't know what I got, feels somewhere between a cold and pneumonia.

      Where no matter how optimistic you are when you wake up, or how much you try to see the bright side of things... you end up feeling alone, used, dumb, and unwanted.

      It's been that way for the past week or so. Grandfather-in law's health is no longer spiraling downhill... he's at a complete free-fall from orbit. So been trying to keep Jerrod's spirits up and Kaida aware of what's going on, though comprehension will come later. Meanwhile Jerrod's work has just been audited and after 2/8 employees were fired last Tuesday, a few others are on review for failing to do their duties when the "higher ups" came in and did their own audit. Thus, he's worked 30+hours overtime this past week alone. As for school... I've given up. Not going to fight it anymore. I've accepted the fact that I tried my best this semester, and failed 3/4 of the classes. I'm not a genius, despite what some say... they're grasping the material faster and better than I... and getting internships where I apply they say "no" due to relocation of family (there are none in the area for two hours drive radius). Maybe I should give up school and the ESAP concept and just work with horses as an exercise rider. Not good pay, and lousy working conditions, and variable hours... but it's the only thing I can mildly do proficiently.

      In reply to Megan327, #133:

      You never seem that way to me. You've always got a level head and full of answers.

      That's because I'm almost nearly always ready to put shit away & help out someone else - gets my mind off shit, if nothing else.

      But, when I'm sitting around in an empty house with no one to talk to or look at but my own dumb reflection... Well...

      We all have problems, and we all have to deal with them. We get knocked on our ass, we need to stand up and get back to work. That's the way the cosmic soap opera works. But you have to be willing to let others help carry the load sometimes. That's when you find out who your friends are, right?

      So, last night, I had a couple beers with my one friend from work whom I've told all about it, and he got the chance to pay me back a bunch of the mentoring I've given him the last couple of years, and that's greatly appreciated (John, from the letter)

      So, intellectually, I know it's gonna be better down the road - it's just right this instant that it seems pretty bleak. Especially when you have to go through stuff without a real support structure. But it'll get better, and hopefully, in a couple of years, I'll be in a better place. Doors are always opening and closing, and while they don't always open & close at the same time, fuck, my metaphor just croaked.

      Anyway, we'll both get through our current problems, and in the end, we'll both be fine. Or dead. Both are inevitable. God keeps a certain care of those that do their best, and best I can tell, he doesn't give us more than we can actually handle. It's just up to us to learn how to handle it.

      But you're tomii. Things always work out for you.

      You'd like to think that, maybe... I've had my share of manure - that's how this got to be one of the prettiest flowers you've ever seen.

      ...

      And I have my moments - my brain always runs down the road to one of the worst possible outcomes, no matter what happens. However, I usually stand right up & do my best to make the most of it.

      That don't mean I don't get down-right emo every now & then, though.

      ...

      Ain't nobody literally shootin' at me, so it ain't that bad. Sure feels like it right now, though.

      And I gave 'em the bullets.

      I figure I have a pretty high pain tolerance in general and in situations of extreme pain, I've always been of the mindset "this feeling sucks, but it is inevitable. bitching about it won't help. I just need to muscle through and it will be over soon." So, I'm hoping that that mentality will serve me well. Even if it doesn't and I am a complete baby about the situation, it's unavoidable at this point in time, so I still have to just deal with it. And, I am so excited to meet my little girl that I really don't think that the pain will matter for long anyway. :)

      Is it my fault if you don't read all my journals, ma'am.

      But seriously, it was sort of a last minute thing when I was finalizing my plans for August. I found I had a couple of days to kill before NYC, and an airforce fellow I know from the comic book movies thread (colonelmcmuf by name) said he lived in Hampton and if I wanted to stop there he'd get some leave and we could drive his car up to New York and I'd have a buddy to see the sights with. And when I realized Ren and Spiderwolve (a navy guy from that same thread) also lived around there, I couldn't pass it up. I totally did not realize you were around there as well. I'm only there for a day, but I assume we're going to get some people together and see a movie or play some games or something. So, if you're interested in spending a little time with some random crazy Internet folks, I'll keep you in the loop.

      Well when i was there it was nicknamed "Ghetto" barracks for NCOs and OICs never went there to check on things. Until two months before I left and then we vacated it for 601 over at what used to be Naval OCS. (Up by the podiatry clinic and officer's club). That's where all men in I- strand went while us women stayed at J. Ghetto was turned over to the Air Force/Army who were there in the other side of the schoolhouse.

In between activities I'm in charge of making sure they are entertained with songs and games. It's a very tiring job (way more than I ever thought), but so far I'm enjoying it. Then set the sights at 8/3 and place the zeroing target at 36yds. The balistics intersect at 36 and 300yds. The staring/fighting with the glare will definitely put you off. Use some shade and sight black.
