over the past week, sometimes when i boot up Windows XP, my computer will stay at the windows XP screen, before you get to log on to the computer. I will then have to force restart it and select "Last good configuration", and windows will load fine.
This failing to load dilemma usually happens after i have left my computer on overnight, and say turned it off when i woke up. And when i come back later in the day to turn it back on, this will happen.
But its not 100% i will get this error everytime i leave it on overnight.
My rig has top-end everything, and i built it myself a little under a year ago. It has 4 fans + CPU fan(not stock fan), so i wouldnt think heating would be an issue. I have 3 harddrives, 2 for storage and 1 GB of memory, 3700+ CPU.
Edit: I have Windows XP SP2, with updates all installed, and recently replaced my Zonealarm security with AVG, which i am having problems with, it wont update.
Any ideas? Thanks
