So, I've been home for two days now, or maybie three. I can't remember. But, I've disocvered that on Monday I'm going camping! Again! So I was in Montana from the 16th of June to the 16th of July, then I left three days later for Oregon to pick up our little trailer. We were there for a little while then we came back home. I think we got to my house on the 1st of August. Dang I've been gone for a while now! (exept for the few day's between traveling)
So now I'm leaving again to go up to the woods for around a week but I love it up there. I know the place like the back of my hand and I just can't wait to get there! The only thing I don't like is the car ride. At least it's only two hours instead of three days.

    • Okay.. that was random.

So the power went out today around 1:52 PM. I was happily enjoying my computer when it happened and I was througly enraged. My sister, brother and I ended up washing the three cars in front of our garage to pass the time away and when we came back in, I was about to ask my brother if he wanted to play halo bur NO! The freakin power was out!
Other than that, I've had a fine Thursday. Oh, and on the way home from picking up our trailer, we stayed in this place called Weed California! I really wanted to get a hat that said, "I'm getting high in Weed California" or something like that but I had no money. Oh well. Next time (If I ever go there again) I'll get one.

    • FINALLY!

I'm home now, for who knows how long this time but I'm home.

I'm back at home now. No more vacations for me... No wait. After learning that my mom bought a new car while I was gone, somewhere around 2-3 weeks ago, I also learned that she was on the hunt for a trailer. No more luxurious fifth wheel for me.
So, this trailer happens to be up in Oregon, or Washington. That means I have to travel all the way up the coast (in a somewhat smaller car this time) to get the darn thing. It's a nice little trailer, a Prowler. It holds six people like the car, and isn't too big. It's only 21 feet long. So, we are leaving on the 1st of April to get it, all six of us in one little Eonvoy minus the dogs, to go up and retrieve the trailer. We are going to stay with my Grandma up there for a little while, visit my aunt, and maybie see our second cousins. We always have fun when we hang out with them.
But, other than relatives (my dad's side this time) and trailers, we are going to get to hike up Mount St. Helens! I'm exited. It was just opened to hikers a few days ago and we will get to be some of the first (maybie more like the two hundreth) people to get to go up there who were'nt connected to enviromentalists or something like that.
But, Since I am no longer anywhere near my uncle's laptop, I have no pisctures to show you of Yellowstone or my little white water rafting experience. I meant this to be a short journal but whatever.
Did you know that there was this 9 year old boy who fell into one of the hot springs in Yellowstone and his dad was going to jump in and save him, but the other people standing by him held onto his arms and told him not to go.
The kid was boiled to death in the 190 degrees water in a few minutes. It may have been hotter, I can't remember.
But, they only recovered eight pounds of the boy with a strainer, the rest was lost in the spring. Isn't that gross?

There was also this cook who nobody really liked that worked at Yellowstone in one of the hotels who died. He and some other employees decided to go soak in some of the cooler springs and have a few drinks. Well, no body noticed the cook was missing when they left to go back to their doorms, and the police figured someone had murdered him.
Like I said, he wasn't very well liked but they did send out a search party to try and find him. So this cook was missing for two days before they found him.
Now, imagine a nice hunk of meat that you put into a crock pot at 200 degrees and leave there for two days. This is what this guy was like when they found him. Turns out he got into the wrong hot spring and it boiled him to death but nobody really cared.

Another spring was named after this french dude who was watcing Old Faithful erupt when Grand Gyser began to go off so he ran towards to to take some pictures and fell into a hot spring on his way. He died, like the other two but not till after he'd crawled out of the spring. Iafter that it was called Belgum spring, after the french dude.

My aunt bought a book called Death in Yellowstone, and that's where I got these stroies from. The last one I will tell is about this guy who put his dog in his car, but it got out and ran into one of the hot springs. This one was mesured at around 202 degreese farenhieght, did I spell that right? So, a lady looks over after hearing the dog's screams and says, "Oh look! the poor thing!" and the dogs owner see'd his pet drowining in the boiling water. So he runs over and does what some of the spectaters called, a "swan dive" into the pool. His buddied tried to stop him but they were too late. So this guy swims over to the dog and grabs it then begins to swim back to the edge. He was doing fine for a few seconds, then he realised how stupid he was and let go of the dog. It was probably dead by then so it didn't matter. Well, this guy begins to panic, and his friends rush over and drag him out. One guy got third degree burns from the water, and he only touched it for a few seconds. The rescuer helped the dummy walk back to their car and he suddenly realized that his buddy couldn't see. The man said, "That was stupid." and his friend said it was like walking next to a corpse because of the skin that had begun to peel off the boiled man in long strips. This one lady was a doctor and she tried to help by telling people what to do. They got a blanket and laid the man down, but he dies shortly afterwards in a hospital.
a couple park rangers who had been called to the scene found what they called two hand shaped piece s of flesh. The man's hands had fallen off due to the hot water.

Before I'd read this book, I was really curiouse as to how hot that water really was. I was tempted to reach down and touch it, (I did once at a small stream but it was only as warm as bath water) but after this book, I was a bit more reluctant. I came really close to toching one of the blue pools, and all the signs said if it wasn't boiling but it was blue, it could reach temperatures of 192-209 degrees. I might have had a half-boiled finger as a souvenier but I came back unscathed.

Well, that's all for now. When I get the pictures, (If ever) I'll oost some for you guy's to see.

    • PLANES!

A couple days ago while I was still in Columbia Falls, I read in the news paper that two WW2 bombers would be flying into town the next day. So, I asked my grandpa and my grandpa-in-law is we could go, and we did! We watched the B-24 make a couple big circles before it landed, then watched as the B-17 came in behind it. There was a yellow T-8 following the two and it landed shortly after the bombers. My camera broke so we had to go back to the campers to get my grandpa's then we went back.
We were there for about an hour, looking at the planes and exploring the inside. I'd never been in either bomber before so it was a blast! I just love those old planes.
I'll post a few pics of them so you guy's can see.

Slightly tilted due to my poor handling of the camera.

Not as close as I'd wanted, but it wasn't my camera so I have to get used to it.

So, now I'm in Yellowstone now. We saw some bison, a couple elk, a few of those pronghorn things and a bear but no wolves. That's what I really want to see.

So, how was everyone's 4th of July? I got to launch off some fireworks for the first time, and I had a lot of fun. There was this guy who spends $10,000 on fireworks every year so we drove out to watch. All the locals said his show ws better than any of the city's, and it turned out to be a realy good show. The next day there were a few of those small tanker planes flying around. I guess they were putting out the fires caused by stupid people.

I really wanted to walk up to him and ask some questions or talk, but we were leaving soon so I didn't. It got me all ecited cause it was my first time seeing a rooster teeth shirt. Well, it's Friday night, and this is my final farewell to the RvB community, untill my three week trip is over then I'll get back inot my daily routene of spending too much time on this site.
So. I have resolved my issue of entertainment, and have found several books that seem interesting to keep me from going crazy on that 1,200+ mile drive to get to Glacier Falls. If you have no clue what I'm talking about, read my previous journal, it should clear things up a bit.
After nearly destroying my computer with an external flobby drive, I finally got all my movies and music onto my troublesome ipod, Karl. The darn this is so mean at times.

Well, I'll stop babling and make this a short one. I hope you guy's have fun while I'm gone, and that I have fun as well on my vacation.

I'll see you (not really) in three weeks! Bye RvB!

    • The Great Journey, sort of.

      Messershmitt

This upcoming Saturday, I'm going to Montana with my grandpa, uncle and two younger cousins. This is going to be my first really long road trip so I have to decide what I want to take with me. First I've got to cover the entertainment section for the countless hours I will be spending in the cab of a truck with my grandpa, so here goes.

I've got my ipod, and I'm busy filling it up with movies and music, but it's only got 2 hours of video playback before I have to charge it again so I've got to somehow find a way to make some money in six days so I can buy a car charger for it.
Now my uncle has a portable DVD player that I might be able to "borrow" from him since he's got several in his gigantic mobile manor, and I don't think he will be needing that while he's driving it. So now I've got to find a couple movies or TV shows that I can take with me, even if I don't get the DVD player.
Books I'm okay with, cause my mom is constantly getting them from my grandparents.

I need to learn how to fall asleep in a moving vehicle in broad daylight.... 0.o

I hear there's a lot of fishing up there so I've got my fishing pole and tackle crap, but no licence so I've got to find some more money to get one of those just in case someone asks me if I have one or not.
Clothes aren't an issue here, and I'm not going to risk taking any kind of firearm or large knife with me, I like my weapons.

I am really going to miss playing Halo 2. My uncle has an x-box but no Halo! I mean, I'm an outdoorsey kind of person, but I've got to play Halo at least once a week or I just feel like breaking something. I'm going to have to find an alternate form of expelling that urge.

So, the stuff that's going with me in the truck is my ipod, DVD player (If I can get it), books, paper and pens, hat (I have to have a hat), small knife just in case I have to cut something, camera and extra batteries, carabineer, backpack, sunglasses, an extra pair of socks and the little B-17 my grandma gave to me for my 17th b-day. (Figures) Oh, and my relatives have CB radios, I think, installed in the truck and RV so we can talk to each other so that?s something else I can go.

The crap going in the trailer behind the truck is my clothes, fishing junk, other books for the ride home, extra DVD's, more hats, more batteries, random things from my room and some duct tape. You never know when you might need some duct tape.

So I went onto mapquest (I hate that site but whatever) and I typed in Arizona to Montana, and I got this:
      CAMR27IH.gif

So It looks like I'll be going from Arizona, to Nevada, to Utah, to Idaho then on to Montana! That's 1287.08 miles! That is a lot of milage to cover in a car!
According to mapquest, it says it'll take 21 hours, 14 minutes to get there but you have to factor in the weather, traffic, bathroom breaks, breakfast lunch dinner and stuff that might go wrong with the truck/trailer or the mobile manor. So I'm thinking it's going to be a little over a day of actual time in the truck.

To tell you the truth, this wasn't really my decision to go to Montana. First, my grandpa was in need to a travel buddy, so I said I'd think about it. Next, word gets out to my uncle that I'm "going" so he thinks it's a good Idea if I come too, to watch his kids when he's out having fun. Then, my mom suddenly decided I was going. She said it's beautiful up there, and I believe her. So here I am, typed out this long, boring list for you people to read.
I guess the reasons I am going are:
1: Because my grandpa was short one travel buddy.
2: Because my uncle needed a "baby sitter"
3: Because I think my mom would like a three week break from me.
And 4: Because it's an opportunity for me to get out of my house and see a little more of the wonderful U.S. of A.!

I'm going to try and find all the parts to our $300 video camera so I can take that with me. If I end up recording anything cool, stupid or fun stuff, I can post it on the net so you guy's can see. I should also have some pics of me and my B-17!
      MemphisBell.jpg

So, now that I can?t think of much else to say, other than I never really said what part of Montana I?m going to. Have you ever heard of Glacier National Park? I haven?t really, but that?s where I?m off to.
Well, other than listening to music, reading, drawing, taking pictures, watching movies or annoying my uncle by saying stupid things over the radio, I can?t think of anything else I can do while driving the 1,2-somewhat miles to Glacier Park.

Oh, another thing. My grandma, aunt and her parents aren?t driving up with the rest of us. They are going to completely bypass sitting in the same position for countless hours and fly up after we?ve arrived in Montana. How fair is that? I think they are cheating, and if this were x-box live I?d report them.

Wow, that was a lot to say, but I haven?t typed much in a while so it felt good.
I think this trip is going to be really fun and worth the long trip up to Montana, that?s why I call it my Great Journey, and because it sounded good. Thanks for taking the time to read this, if you did, and feel free to give me any advice on what I could do to kill time on the ride up. o_0

Hey, if you think U-571 is a good movie, watch Das Boot. It'll blow you away! It's German and older than you are, but despite subtitles or dubbing, it's far and away one of the best war movies ever made.
