I am extremely excited for a new business venture that I am starting this year. I cannot emphasize enough how much of an exhilarating feeling it is creating things that make people happy/solve problems in the world. Are any of you currently business owners/creators, and if so, please share your links and photos of your work. I'd love to network and help create a community marketplace of awesomeness!

Well, I have been hesitant to utilize this journal, as it feels sort of like a post in the void, but here we go. 2018 has been a really interesting year thus far to say the least.

I'm currently working in the Financial Tech industry, at a high paying salaried job. I am making the most money I have ever made in my life so far, and also feel the most miserable I have ever been in my life. I can honestly say firsthand that money does not, nor could it ever buy happiness. This realization has motivated me to pursue my dreams full force this year.

I have set up my LinkedIn account, revamped my resume, built a new PC, put together a portfolio website and have been steadily filming and editing new videos.

I started making films with my friends at age 15, and it has always brought a deep sense of joy and excitement into my life. When I turned 18, I left Austin and moved to Maryland where I attended UMBC as a Film Major. After financial hardships I was sadly unable to keep up with the out of state tuition costs and resigned to moving back home and working full-time at various jobs. For the last 8 years I have been picking up my camera off and on, but entering adulthood truly pulled my focus into making money over pursuing what truly makes me happy.

I've been working in the Tech industry for the last 5 years straight, and have climbed my way up a ladder that I truly have no interest in being on. Most days are spent daydreaming and taking deep breaths (to avoid bouts of anxiety), and paychecks have become irrelevant to my happiness. For the first time in my life I feel like I have a clear plan of action. I will follow my dreams and continue to create films and content and hopefully inspire others to do the same.

Don't let your golden handcuffs keep you away from the things that bring you the most joy and empower you to be most like yourself. Rooster Teeth has opened my eyes to the magic that can unfold whenever you are free to be your true self and make others smile in the process.

I've applied for the Production Coordinator position with Achievement Hunter, and even if I don't hear back or get to the interview process with Trevor and the gang, I feel happy taking baby steps towards the desires of my heart.

I really hope that each of you follow your dreams today. If anyone actually reads this, please feel free to share your hopes and aspirations in the comments.
