    • For the Love of our Furry Families!!!<3

      MoonFire77

A friend sent me this about 5 hours after my Am Canine"Excercise" ! Furry Families...Gotta Love Em!!!! xD

      A Dog's Purpose (from a 6-year-old).

Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a ten-year-old Irish Wolfhound named Belker. The dog's owners, Ron, his wife Lisa, and their little boy Shane, were all very attached to Belker, and they were hoping for a miracle.

I examined Belker and found he was dying of cancer. I told the family we couldn't do anything for Belker, and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home.

As we made arrangements, Ron and Lisa told me they thought it would be good for six-year-old Shane to observe the procedure. They felt as though Shane might learn something from the experience.

The next day, I felt the familiar catch in my throat as Belker 's family surrounded him. Shane seemed so calm, petting the old dog for the last time, that I wondered if he understood what was going on. Within a few minutes, Belker slipped peacefully away.

The little boy seemed to accept Belker's transition without any difficulty or confusion. We sat together for a while after Belker's Death, wondering aloud about the sad fact that animal lives are shorter than human lives. Shane, who had been listening quietly, piped up, 'I know why.'

Startled, we all turned to him. What came out of his mouth next stunned me. I'd never heard a more comforting explanation.

He said, 'People are born so that they can learn how to live a good Life -- like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?' The Six-year-old continued, 'Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long.'

      Live simply.

      Love generously.

      Care deeply.

      Speak kindly.

Remember, if a dog was the teacher you would learn things like:

When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.

Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure Ecstasy.

      Take naps.

      Stretch before rising.

      Run, romp, and play daily.

Thrive on attention and let people touch you.

Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.

On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.

On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.

When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.

Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.

      Be loyal.

Never pretend to be something you're not.

If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.

When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by, and nuzzle them gently.

ENJOY EVERY MOMENT OF EVERY DAY!

    • My Poor Westie.....

      MoonFire77

Recently, I've had to take my poor little Westie, Rebus, to the Vet,yet again, for an exam & meds, to find out what this Horrible skin problem is & fix it. They ruled out Mange,Fleas & mites...so we're waiting on the fungus test results & can't afford the Allergy scrape tests....anyway, they gave us 2 bottles of pills WE PAid for two bottles of pills, to ease the itching, smell, infection & the fur loss...1 of the pills is an antibiotic & the other is a Steroid & apparantly makes him Very thirsty! So it stands to reason that he drinks more water & potties more Frequently, right!?! He seems to be getting, somewhat, better & I just take him out more often.
The problem arose this morning...my Hubby, who takes both the Furries out in the early AM, had to be at work 3 hours earlier than usual. He didn't bother taking the furries out & didn't wake me. If he had taken them out they would've been the livingroom lounging, not locked up in thier kennels. When 7 am rolled around, I heard this strange noise(it's what woke me up) sounded like someone was trying to open my dresser drawer...then the smell hit me & I could make out poor Rebus' low frantic whining...I imediately got up, realizing what the noise was that woke me. My little guy was trying to get his kennel door open...he had the latch up & was
trying to move it out of the slot that holds it! Realizing what time it was & the fur babies were still locked up...the fact that Rebie was trying to get himself out...I knew he had to go Bad! What I hadn't realized was that it was already to late! My Poor Westie was straddlind his soaken wet kennel pad, had one paw out trying to open the damn thing...Mattie, our female, was running, in tight circles, in her kennel like a crazy person...when I opened the kennel doors it was like an explosion of fur...both running for the front door. I let them out onto the porch...had to force Rebus, as he was trying to dry himself on my freakin carpet...Gak! Got them out in the yard...was surprised Rebus still had anything to release. Got him cleaned up...then had to clean the carpet from the living room all the way back to the bedroom...than the stars our home is small! whooHoo! Went to get the kennel pad & clean up in the bedroom...OMG! I should've just moved the whole kennel to the laundry area...that pad was like a bucket full of holes & leaking Fast...Geeze...now I've got a trail of "you know what" from his kennel to the washer...the dog's ashamed now, worse than before & is trying to get between me & the washer to run & hide under my bed...the "stuff" is dripping all over...Argh...I finally get the mess into the washer...manage to close the bedroom door...poor puppy's hiding behind a chair...the female doesn't care....WhooHoo..,she has both food bowls to herself! I get the washer going, knowing I've got to run it twice to make sureall the urine is gone, then again, empty, with clorox(germ thing) & I still have to clean the kennel & reclean the capet in my room......0_0I'm done now...you have No Idea, How Done!!! I'm not upset with my Westie...it wasn't his fault he couldn't yell, "Get your Butt out of Bed & take me out, I Gotta Go!" or "Hey Dad, did you forget I can't get out of here & go outide by myself...Duh, like I can't reach the door knob, even if I could get ouT of this @#*% KENNEL!!!" No...I'm not mad at the Pooch...when ya gotta go ya gotta go...I'm upset with the Hubby...even if he didn't have time to take them out, he could've woke me up & told me that he hadn't taken them...THEN I COULD HAVE...instead of spending the last 2 hours cleaning up & a Pooch that is now very upset & in need of a bath!!!
Boy!!! Do I Love My Family!?! Gotta or I'd go Nuts!!!Hubby needs to bring home " I Sorry" Flowers...No...CHOCOLATE!!! lOl !
(my Westie is really Smart...I wouldn't be surprised if he figured that kennel latch out...real soon!)

Problem is...the painting I was working on For my Friends Empty wall, isn't finished. I thought I could do it in time...forgot to ask the body permission...cuz it didn't cooperate!

Luckily my Friends know of my limitations...they'll be disappointed, but will love me anyway! Hopefully I'll have it (the Goddess Painting) finished next week, sometime! Which is probably a better time to present them with it (for me) than with Everybody at the BBQ watching us Hang it! That way no one will know it was me or think I was grand-standing or something, by giving it to them during the BBQ...Whoohoo!

My Friend, D, Has done so much for me & is so loving & level headed ( she keeps me grounded) I just wanted to give her something of myself...maybe sub-consciously that's why I wasn't able to finish it...the exchange is personal & should be done with just the two of us.

      ok...time to stop...I'm Phsyco analyzing myself! Wierd....^_o

Have a Fantastic Weekend Everyone, Enjoy Life to the fullest & Laugh Outloud...Alot!!!! xD

      MoonFire77

I LOVE THIS PROPOSAL & had to post it!!! Actually GoonieWench gave me the Idea...so When it was sent to me in an e-mail from my Niece...I thought...Why Not See what the RT Family Thinks!?! So Here Goes!!!

I'm against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG.

Instead, I'm in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in

      a We Deserve It Dividend.

To make the math simple, let's assume there are
      200,000,000

      bonafide adults in the U.S.

Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman

and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up..

So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billon that equals $425,000.00.

My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a

      We Deserve It Dividend.

Of course, it would NOT be tax free.

So let's assume a tax rate of 30%.

Every individual 18+ has t o pay $127,500.00 in taxes.

That sends $25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam.

But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their pocket.

A husband and wife has $595,000.00.

What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00 in your family?

Pay off your mortgage - housing crisis solved.

Repay college loans - what a great boost to new grads

Put away money for college - it'll be there

Save in a bank - create money to loan to entrepreneurs.

Buy a new car - create jobs

Invest in the market - capital drives growth

Pay for your parent's medical insurance - health care improves

Enable Deadbeat Dads to come clean - or else

Remember this is for every adult U S Citizen 18+ including the folks

who lost their jobs at Lehman Brothers and every other company

that is cutting back. And of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces.

If we're going to re-distribute wealth let's really do it...instead of trickling out

      a puny $1000.00 ( 'vote buy' ) economic incentive.

If we're going to do an $85 billion bailout, let's bail out every adult U S Citizen 18+!

As for AIG - liquidate it.

      Sell off its parts.

Let American General go back to being American General.

      Sell off the real estate.

Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up.

Here's my rationale. We deserve it and AIG doesn't. Sure it's a crazy idea that can 'never work.'

But can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party!

How do you spell Economic Boom?

I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 Billion

(We Deserve It )Dividend more than the geniuses at AIG or in Washington DC do.

And remember, The Birk plan only really costs $59.5 Billion because $25.5 Billion is returned

instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam.

Ahhh...I feel so much better getting that off my chest.

    • RE: Comp Lawer visit...

      MoonFire77

Well...made it there & back...with only minor discomfort! By that, I mean...my feet were tingly, but still felt attached to my body & weren't swollen to bad. My back always screams & complains...so I just try & ignore it. *^_o*

Lawyer man said we pretty much have to start a new ball rolling again...as usual Comp. dropped it & won't admit it...Go Figure! So now I've got to make all new Appts. & get paperwork for any and all appointments & Treatment requests, date & time stamped & get it to the Lawyer after Doctor submits his requests...for the 14 day count down, that's how long Comp. has to respond, before Lawyerman can put the screws to them! Gosh...for some reason Comp. doesn't care for the phrase "Meet us in Court'!!!

Anyway...I start all over with the back treatments, physical therapy, r-knee & nerve treatments(after back is done) & Phsycological treatment for dealing with the frustrations of the "Mickey Mouse" runarounds, the pain, weight gain & lack of sleep! WooHoo!!! Hopefully treatment will be granted, I'll be able to start excersing again, lose the weight & gain some semblance of life...pre injury...now that we're...uuuungh...almost 7 years down the windy road! At least now I have some hope again...I just hope nobody drops my ball again...it's not bouncing to good anymore...LOL!!!

I'M HOPEFUL...AGAIN!!! XD *Smiles Really Big*

Well...Toaday i've got an appointment with the Lawyer handling my Disability case. I'm really worried about what he has to tell me...I hope that what ever it is, it's in my favor! We can't afford another $$$ cut...not to mention not getting less treatment than I'm getting right now...which is next to nothing.
All I want is to be kept informed & to alleviate some or all of the pain...so I can function better, help my Family more & Fully Enjoy the Time I have left in this World. ^_^

Will post outcome when I get back*crosses finger*...it will be after 5:30pm...gotta borrow Daughter #1's Digi Camera...mine Died...Hubby wants to fix it...I don't think it can be... be better to give it a decent burial & send it off to Photography heaven! LOL!!! ;D

We are back home from running errands, Murdock is such a love driving me around and we also shopped for goodies for the girls who are housesitting, Hubby also had to show them how to get the fire going, and keep it going. Poor guy is aching today after shovelling us out, as well as three of our neighbors who are old and disabled. God was smiling down on me the day I met this young man! He's the best thing that's ever happened to me and such a great dad too! I never thought I'd be this lucky!!!! Hope all is well with you and yours, we will hunker down for the evening and not worry about the snow for a bit! LOL Tomorrow we're supposed to have another storm move through with six more inches and high winds to boot. I moved here from Wisconsin to get away from this kind of weather!!!!! Oh well it's rare to see everyone so excited about snow! Happy Holidays!!!!!

Our duplex has propane stove, water heater and furnace. They continue to operate when the power goes out.
Water, gas and sewer are included in the rent---the gas tank is joined to all the units and kept full by the service provider. If we lose power---we still stay warm--are able to use the waer and have hot showers, as well as cook dinner, we also have an old fashioned coffee pot to make coffee on the stove! We're actually pretty contained but we won't have internet!!!! LOL The power has been flashing-threatening to go down! It makes the hubby's pc games go off-line and he has to restart.

My son is right on the front lines. He is a Captain in the 505 PIR (parachute infantry regiment). It is what he wanted and has trained for. I just pray that he, "keeps head down and powder dry." As for the ginger bread house, you should have seen the mess before the picture was taken. We were both wearing a lot of frosting. I had to literally chip it off the table. The most amazing part was that candy actually lasted long enough to be applied. There was a lot of sampling to make sure it was OK.

I know Tim Buckley can't take my soul, but it's really a way of saying "you've lost the game, mate" to him.

Ctrl Alt Del is a comic about the exploits of some gamers: Ethan, Lukas and Lilah, their room-mates Scott and Ted the penguin, their various friends, and some random people like the Players and Chef Brian. It's often funny, but sometimes insulting.

This young man's father has a blood condition, too much iron which has compounded the infection problem, they operated initially on the neck but ended up opening his chest as well trying to remove infection from his body. When the mother called for a housesitter, she told my daughter it doesn't look like he'll survive but we are all praying for him. They plan on operating again today and possibly tmorrow to keep cleaning out his system of the two viral infections in his body. The snow storm here makes it seem surreal, and I can't imagine how this will turn out for them. This family has been so good to this group of teenagers- always welcoming the kids into their home as a gathering place which here in the boondocks is non existent publicly. They need all the good Karma we can muster! Keep them in your prayers, and thank you for that.

Way too much sugar! Fantasy fudge - uses marshmallow fluff - recipe used to be on the jar. My son learned how to make it with the microwave directions - and it became 'his' contribution to the holiday sweets!

      haha, yeah.
Kids will never learn or just can't comprehend that we were once kids too and even though the circumstances might be different, the mind in all it's new found glory, will come up with something to learn from, lol.

      Oh yeah, me too! lol
Kids will be kids and that's why we need parents these days, lol. A lot these days are doing God knows what and don't have the discipline we had when we were young. And it's kinda too late after a certain time period to try to instill it later.

But yeah, I did some wacky stuff too.... without thinking of the consequences, lol.

      Ditto:
Old school rubber band shooting and when in a pinch (like class) we had our fingers in place of twigs or what-not.

Ooh, don't get me started on automated phone services!
"If you'd like to kill the person who invented these things, press the hash key."

Well, it all starts with the mesopotamians: they recorded all sorts of things on those clay tablets, and most of it was practical information, but I, for one, blame the Romans for inventing beurocrats: it wasn't until much later that the dreaded Beurocracy came into power and began this scurge of the modern formal document!

      Those darn Romans!

      And yes, health is imprortant.

Loved the gif! I'm 'relaxing' right now with a glass of wine (not my first either! smiley8.gif Next weekend this house becomes cookie central! I'm planning on producint 10 dozen chocolate chip cookies, and several dozen 'snowball' shortbread cookies, and possibly some fudge.... Too much sugar for 3 people who don't normally eat sugar! The cookies are for 'work' gifts. I love the snowball cookies - a childhood family favorite - it wouldn't be Christmas without them. The fudge is my son's favorite - he even knows how to make it and does - microwave directions!

Snowing? Only in Scotland, down here in the southerly New Forest it's simply wet and windy, and dark.

Born on the same day you say? Ah, so there was an accident with a time-machine there like Zaphod Beeblebrox, and his father after him, and his grandfather after him, and his great grandfather after him smiley4.gif .
Sorry, little bit of Douglas Adams humour there.

      Anyway

Well, I thank you for taking my mistake well, and hope to converse on more occasions. smiley1.gif

      Best wishes

Isn't that a "heavy" set of lyrics for a song? Quite moving indeed. I remember listening to that whole album, each and every song, taking it all in... back in a time which was very shaky for me.... plus I was much younger then, lol. But listening to it and getting something out of it back then, compared to 33 years later... I find it compelling and even more appealing in contrast.

Oh don't worry second mama things are slowing down a little bit. Had quite a few moments where we were going to take my dad back to the hospital but things seem okay right now. He says he feels better but I'm so paranoid about that darn nausea I'm expecting it to come back but gravy do I hope it doesn't. I'm perfectly fine with taking my turn at being sick but he's so frail now :/ these last couple of years it's been a constant wonder of: how much more can he take?

But my health is fine! smiley12.gifsmiley12.gif please don't worry, you guys have enough stuff going on smiley12.gif I'm really okay smiley1.gif My crazy asthma started when I was 7 I'm pretty good at handling it and knowing how bad it is and (Thankfully) this time it's not bad. I'm taking some emerg-c to boost up my immune system, try to fight it a bit. Taking some medicine for the fever and coughing and I got plenty of tissues for the sneezin'. I'm good to go. smiley8.gif really though, I'm good. My mom kind of got the hint yesterday that I'm not feeling too hot so she 's been helping smiley1.gif

smiley12.gifsmiley12.gifsmiley12.gif Thank you though, big hugs and kisses for you guys, your so sweet to me smiley12.gifsmiley12.gifsmiley12.gif
