It hadn't been but a few days, the morning passed as the noon suns began to draw into the sky. The dessert town placed seemingly in the middle of nowhere. There was a long bridge to the north crossing a canoyon and a sign on all four corners of the town that read as you entered:
The town seemed to be peaceful for the most part, even for one that was so largely populated by slaves. Of course that only begged the question as to why there was a young blind boy sitting in a cell in the guards tower.
The guards tower was placed just on the inside of the town near the entrance gate that headed north. It had several floors to it, the 5th floor even connecting to the outer wall -making for easy access when they went on patrol around the wall. The first set of floors were nothing special, mostly for the public. The upper levels were where the cells were kept, the higher the level, the more dangerous the criminal.
Down the long hallway on the seventh floor were kept those that fate had yet to decide on, were six cells, three lining each side. The young blind boy who, despite looking as if he had recently been in some sort of struggle, looked particularly filled with poise and tranquility. For someone who was in jail, at least.
On either side of the blind boy were two kenomi - Tanooki to be precise. Both men had rich, dark skin, long dreaded hair and tawny eyes which seemed to pierce the soul of whom so ever they settled upon. While they looked extraordinarily alike, there were a few significant differences between the two such as their level of hygiene, and all the way down to the way they carried themselves. The calmer one had a harmonica -the guards surprisingly allowing him to have it, unknowing what he was capable of with it- and was whittling out a sharp, tinny tune. The other was restless, pacing back and forth in his cell, practically growling, like a beast on the hunt.
The argonian man sitting in the far cell on the right didn't appear to be any sort of criminal, other than the fact he wasn't fully human, he seemed innocent in most every way.
In the middle cell across from the blind boy sat a surprising find, a face anyone native to the town would easily recognize; the middle child of a nobleman. Even more unexpected was the state she was in, having a... bit of a mishap recently. Replacing smooth, ivory skin came solid, yet flexible scales on her arms and legs. Tiny, leathery wings protruded from her back, and her eyes...they were slitted, rather like the lizard-man next to her.
And in the first cell to the right was another man, irate and convinced he was heading for the hangman's noose the next day if he didn't escape soon. He was becoming very determined as the morning wore on.
The pirate siblings bickering over how to get Ichi out, Sam -after insuring her cousins were safe- deciding to help. Rae wanting nothing more than to explode something, sending it up in a fiery ball of death. Roy, understanding that would cause too much attention and that the escape needed to have a subtle touch if they were going to leave the town unnoticed. Rae was pouting about all this by the way.
Sarie, Light and Lily were held up at an inn, finally over the shock of the loss of their home and other mother. The three now left abandoned to the world, that thought alone was enough to make any young person depressed.
Rachel -our dark haired beauty- sat in the middle of the town near a fountain, manipulating the water.
