    • Just making it "official."

      Not1337

Like how my ex-girlfriend and i ended it last week, i am ending my term here. You could pretty much see it from a mile away, but it needs to be official.

I'll be deleting the bookmark to this site, and the password from Firefox. I simply cannot keep up with anything here any more.

You all shall be remembered. Especially atwa because some kid at my school looks just like him. Posting here just gets harder because it's hard enough to keep in contact with all my IRL friends, let alone all youse on the interbutts.

It's been fun, and rather life-changing, actually. Hueg thanks go to Cloud/Kyle for introducing me into metal. Without that, i wouldn't be who i am today.

Have a nice life, i wish you the best. <3

    • Superbad.

      Not1337

      Was actually super bad.

I disliked it, but it was actually a decent movie. The reason why i disliked it is because i've always had a problem with (myself or other people) being socially inept and/or unable to be a strong individual.

It's likely bad for me to say, but it downright irritates me when someone cannot fend for their self, or are too weak of a person to do something (like ask a girl on a date type shit).

Is goddamn amazing. If you have any inclination towards musicals, or just plain orchestral music, you should see Wicked.

It was so goddamn beautiful, i was holding back my tears, and they were still running down my face. God, i could see that over and over and still wouldn't cry any less.

      Fuckin bullshit.

Psyopus' van's trans got fucked and didn't make it. Didn't get to see Behold The Arctopus because the 4 other shitty local bands made me want to kill myself, and Dysrhythmia's set took long enough that Kyle and i had to leave because of Kyle's parents.

Also, not to mention the fact that it wasn't until AFTER i got home that i was told of a curfew, which was 10.30, though i was home at 9.30

Did i mention that the local bands here all suck huge cock? One band was the screamo type. They not only had one singer screaming indecipherable shit, but they had A SECOND SINGER DOING THE EXACT SAME PART, NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL.

Shall be a rockin' good time, depending on one thing.

      That thing is time.

Wednesday. Psyopus. Behold... The Arctopus. Dysrythmia.

      FUKKKEN WIN.

Here's hoping my parents aren't overprotective and say "Home by 9 o'clock!"

FUCK YES. 5PM show. Now just to find out whether for sure or not my ride can go. METAL!

Alright, so i lied. There is/was one thing that could/did stop me from seeing 300.

I'm sick as a dog. 100.4 temperature. Fell asleep last night at around midnight, and i didn't wake up until around 10. I tried getting up, but i felt so weak, i could barely drag myself to the bathroom. Around 12-ish, my mother was nice enough to make some food for me, and i was hardly able to eat. At about 2.30, i actually had enough strength to get up out of bed. Still just layed on the couch and watched some Comedy Central, but at least i was out of bed.

It really sucks, too, because i was going to take the girlfriend to go see it. Hopefully i'll be better tomorrow. Until then, Tylenol and nasal decongestant, ho!

I disagree with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. However kickass a show as it was, too many scene kids ALREADY are like "ZOMG TMNT ZOMG I CAME" and it would only worsen if reruns started showing.

if I hung out with scene kids, I'd actually be worried about that.

Definitely worth it, especially for 12 bucks. Lol Best Buy. The only thing that has been overused is the usual 7/4 time signature, and it's a little predictable, having listened to a lot of Dream Theater, but this doesn't take away from it being pretty enjoyable.

lol DT isn't getting any of my $12 unless it's for the earlier stuff.

      Isohunt, here I come.

The new Dream Theater album actually isn't the horrible, reused shit i was thinking it was going to be. IMO, as of track 5, it's better than Octavarium, ToT, and SDoIT.

God, I never understood why so many classically trained musicians have such a disdain for jazz. It really doesn't make sense.

Anyway, I was/am a jazz band person. I'm actually playing in my old high school band in a few weeks for a big 30th anniversary celebration of the band in the new auditorium dedicated to our old director who started the band and died of colon cancer during my junior year there.

I'm assuming you got that legally. How different is it from CS2?

      Of course it's legal.

I didnt' have CS2, I went from the original CS. So far, the GUI is somewhat different, but I haven't really gotten to use it so I don't know anything other than what they tell you on the website. I'll let you know when I've used it a little more. Of course there is a DVD with training and I'll watch that likely this weekend.

How does it compare to Pretty Hate Machine? That's pretty much the only album i really like by NIN.

In most respects, it doesn't. They are completely different albums. It does, however, compare in relation to how far ahead of its time they both are.

I still don't understand what it is about Arizonian's and being naked. Can you explain? I'm one for being naked, but at the right times. Shower, sex, typical times.

Technically, Kyle and I both aren't really Arizonans, or at least I am moreso than he is. I've lived in AZ for about 9 years, whereas I lived in Connecticut for about 15 years. Kyle has lived out here for about 3 years, and before that, he was in Illinois and several other places.

For one, though, it's really fucking hot in this state (though not as much in Flagstaff, so I can't say much about that), so lack of clothes is usually warranted. Otherwise, nekkidness is nice when you're just kinda at home by yourself ... or if, say, you're about to go to bed, as I was in these pictures.

      Does that help? XD

I'm pretty white as is, but not quite like that, thankfully ... but the makeup is doable (and was done for the picture, even though I took it in black and white instead of color). :-)

I wouldn't say I can "easily" tell intervals. I've never had to think about them much until I started playing guitar. I do think I used them a little bit when I played flute when I was learning more difficult pieces, particularly ones with a lot of jumps between notes. I was also top chair, but part of that came from so much practice, my ear for music, and my ear for myself, and I was very hypercritical and aware of my own sound to the point of refining it as much as was within my ability at the time. That meant a lot of work on breath control, tone, tonguing, and technique (aside from other things like dynamics and different ways of playing -legato, staccato, etc.). In my experiences, being top chair and knowing people of that position in high school usually came for the people that a) practiced a lot, b) did know a fair amount of music theory (all scales -major and hopefully minor- at the very least), c) took their instruments seriously, d) had a knack for listening to themselves and everyone else, etc. Things like that. I wouldn't say knowing intervals necessarily helped me or helped me a lot, but I didn't really need that knowledge with my particular instrument. Still, the more you know, the better, and you can connect your knowledge across different aspects of music theory to gain understanding and appreciation further for the music you're making and listening to. smiley1.gif

It's completely different from Photoshop. The main difference being Photoshop is raster based and Illustrator is vector based.

Random question; in your learning stages of music, were you ever taugh intervals, or have you ever learned to read intervals?

Yes, I have ... what do you need to know? It helps to know your scales, also.

I work for a small production company. I film and edit commercials and TV shows. I also compose a lot of commercial music for them. I had several spots to get out this week, so not being able to get here really sucks because I still have the same amount of work to do.

I think it's funny that you say that; I've been getting the *hot librarian look* comment from a lot of people within the last year. It's odd. At least, it's odd comparing with how life was before that, as I never had so many descriptions of that light applied to me.
