These are tips for quick and easy leveling that I discovered while playing Skyrim. Enjoy!

Tip 1: Easy Smith Training - During the opening scene, when trying to flee from the dragon, you will have the option of going with the Storm Cloaks, or the Imperial Legion for an escape route. I personally recomend escaping with the empire, as the soldier's uncle owns the Smithy in the first town you come to. As thanks for saving his nephew, he will give you free reign to his house. Fortunately, this also includes part of his forge outside which has a constantly spawning collection of 5 steel bars, and 5 iron bars, which can be taken for free without being counted as stealing. Check in every few days and they'll have respawned. They can be used to easily level up your smithing by upgrading or crafting weapons and armor.

Tip 2: Free Training - Certain companions in the game will be able to offer you training for a price. Usually, this requires gold, but if you ask to see their inventory to trade items, you can take the gold back again. By paying them for training, and taking it back, you can rapidly increase certain skills for free. The first person you can do this with is Faendal, a wood elf in Riverwood, who will follow you if you side with him in the romance quest he offers. He trains you in Archery, and can train you up to as high as level 50 Archery.

Tip 3: Easy Conjuration Training - Get a spell to summon a bound, one handed weapon. Bound Sword will do nicely. Almost every time you cast this spell while in the middle of combat, you will level up 1 rank in Conjuration. If you cast the spell with both hands (not dual casting) and summon two weapons at once, you'll gain 2 levels. Your companions can't die unless you personally kill them, but they will be reduced to crouching on the ground. So if you get into battle with a long range enemy, such as an archer or a mage and have your companion 'die' in the hall while you hide around the corner. If you do this correctly, the enemy will keep firing at your companion, who will be unable to die, but will pretty much act like a meat shield to draw the enemy's attention. While you're hiding around the corner, keep casting Bound Sword over and over again for a rapid increase in levels. I managed to get around level 50 conjuration before the enemy got bored and decided to rush us.

I don't think I'll have enough room to finish the review in just 2 parts. Let me start by saying that the game is in some ways better than my previous experience with Budokai, but in many other ways, its actually worse. First of all, if you're looking to buy the game strictly because of the customization option, don't bother. The character creation option was grievously exaggerated, the most variety you get is choosing the colors. As for uniforms and hair styles, you're extremely limited. You start off with only 4 outfits and 3 hair styles, and through playing hero mode, you can unlock the following of Turtle Hermit clothing 1 and 2, Saiyan armor 1 and 2, Tien Clothing 1 and 2, Android 16's clothes, android 17's clothes, demon outfit (piccolo's clothing) capeless and with the cape, Trunks clothing 1 and 2, Fusion Warrior Outfit, and assortment of logos including turtle, crane, red ribbon, Ginyu Force, Kami, Goku, Capsule Corp. Majin, and Demon. The Hair Styles you get are Bed Hair, Mohawk, Bald, Wild, Bardock, Long, Short, Turban, and Trunks.

You are also limited to only 3 custom characters, each of which suits a different play style. Average hero can unlock the most moves, but has pretty low stats, over all. Light Heroes have a limited range of special moves, but they are exceptionally skilled with energy attacks, but do poor in melee. Heavy Hero also has limited range of techniques they can unlock, but they excel at melee, and do poor at energy combat.

Android 18 is the only playable female in the entire game, as the developers apparently "scripted the hero mode specifically for a male saiyan, so females wouldn't work." which is the biggest load of lazy ass bull crap I've ever heard from a game developer. The character roster also seems to be quite badly put together. You can play as the following characters in total: Goku, Piccolo, young Gohan, Teen Gohan, Ultimate Gohan, Vegeta, Future Trunks, Nappa, Raditz, Bardock, Saibamen, Cell Jr. Cell, Frieza, Broly, Cui, Omega Shenron, SSJ Gogeta, SSJ4 Gogeta (oddly enough, they're separate characters), Gotenks in SSJ and SSJ3 forms, SSJ Vegito, Fat Buu, Super Buu, Kid Buu, Android 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, Jeice, Burter, Ginyu, Recoome, Zarbon, Dodoria, Cui, Janemba second form, and 3 custom characters.

They also, in an effort to make the roster seem bigger than it actually is, made some transformations pop up as additional character slots, so you can start the battle already in that form, rather than needing to activate it manually. Vegeta, for example, can transform into Majin Vegeta in battle, but yet Majin Vegeta also takes up a slot on the character selection roster, a spot that could have gone to adding another character, and not wasted space. Also, while Gotenks in his super forms is playable, his normal form is not, neither is kid Trunks, nor Goten. Why they decided to make SSJ Gogeta and SSJ4 Gogeta two separate playable characters, instead of making them transformations, I have no idea, and why they didn't allow Goku or Vegeta to become SSJ4 without fusing is also another mystery to me. Android 18, the one female in the whole game, screams like a little bitch when she's hit, apparently any of the male characters being too strong for her girly body to handle a single punch without wailing in pain.

The graphics for the game are also appalling for a next generation console. The lip syncing, as I said in part A, is just god awful. It doesn't even try matching the words correctly. Also, I saw some graphical glitches on several occasions, such as the clothing turning a darker color after certain events, and one time, Android 20's eye lasers actually got stuck in a cut scene in battle, so it looked like he shot them in two different directions when he was supposed to be doing a sweep attack with them. As well as some shadow spiking in the background during the opening cut scene to most battles. This just further proves my point that this was a very lazy attempt at making a game. I don't know if they were rushed, or if the game developers are new to the stage, but looking at the hype this game received, and the excitement of the fans before it was released, it could have done so much better than whatI've seen from it so far.

That isn't to say it doesn't have its perks, however, the combat, although difficult to get used to at first, is easier to play for people who aren't used to complex button sequences and fast thinking in a fighting game, although sometimes, the controls seem to be either 1 second too early, or 1 second too late in its activation. If you rapidly mash the attack button, you character will cue up moves, which there is no way to break out of them from what I've seen until you're interrupted by being hit, or you cycle through them all. The fact using super or ultimate moves automatically puts your enemy directly in harm's way makes it much easier to nuke them into oblivion, but when you're on the receiving end, it gets very frustrating when your enemy turns the tables on you with an aim bot in a fighting game, and you actually need to keep an eye on your focus meter to be able to guard against these super moves, or they get an auto hit with a super charged attack.

After beating hero mode, there really isn't anything left to do, except grind until you max out your stats. You can replay all the hero mode major battles for some extra EXP, but they lose their impact after a while. Also, after your first defeat of Omega Shenron in hero mode, you mysteriously lose your ability to become a super saiyan at will in regular hero mode battles with no explanation as to why. You can transform during key story points, or during training with your masters, but after you beat him the first time, you can only transform during battle (dual) mode. Whether this is due to a glitch, or something else, I have no idea. I seem to have run out of room, so I'll stop here.

Well haven't done this in a long, long while, another video game review. This time, its Ultimate Tenkaichi, which just came out 2 days ago. Its a Dragon Ball fighting game, and one which people are either very psyched about, or utterly despise, because almost the entire game is centered around timed events and button tapping, rather than complex skill and strategy. One of the shining features in the game is the Hero Mode, which allows players to customize a male saiyan from uniforms (most of which need to be unlocked), and even training under many of the canon characters and learning their moves so you can assign a custom character with some of your favorite techniques from multiple different characters. I've heard rumors that in Ultimate Tenkaichi 2, they may allow female characters, and in 3, they may allow you to make other races, but I have seen little evidence to support this besides youtube comments.

Admittedly, the control system did take me some time to get used to, but once you get the feel of it, its fairly simple. Now I will say that before this, the only other DBZ fighting game I played was Budokai 1 for the gamecube, so I have no idea how UT holds up against Raging Blast, Tenkaichi, or the later Budokai games. The graphics are not cell shaded, at least not from what I can tell, and the lip syncing is god awful. The characters even have a tendency to keep their mouths wide open after finishing dialog, as if they're in an episode of Speed Racer, but I'm not nit picky about that.

The super and ultimate moves can no longer be done at will, but instead, you need to build up spirit through various methods. Spirit is not the same thing as your Ki meter, which is used for something completely different. One of the easiest is to do knock back combos, where you then press up or down on the right analog stick, and depending if you are in Blast or Melee range, you'll do a different special. Ultimate moves can only be done with a full spirit meter, and only when you're in critical health, which makes them very difficult to pull off, but they're also very powerful as a result.

Instead of super moves, Ki is now used to activated transformations, which you can also de-activate so you don't have to get knocked down. Your super and ultimate moves even change as you transform, sometimes becoming enhanced versions, and other times becoming completely different techniques. It is also slightly harder to avoid getting hit by these moves, as it automatically throws the character in the way of an oncoming super. If your Ki meter is around 25% full you can block the attack for half damage, at around 50% enter a timed event to try dodging it all together, and with an almost full Ki meter, you can enter a beam struggle to send the attack back at the enemy.

Battle is done in two versions, which are Melee Range, and Blast Range. During Blast range, you fire off ki blasts as your standard attack, and during Melee range, you perform punches and kicks. You no longer get to do both simultaneously, as you could in Budokai.

Battle controls take reference to the Naruto games in that one button is your standard attack, another is block, and another is your strong attack, which can smash through enemy guards, but can't be rapid fired, and takes a while to launch. In fact, many people are bitching that some of the giant boss battles refer to the Naruto summon battles in that you don't actually fight them normally, but instead they are now in the background, tossing shit at you, and you have to duck and weave until they get close enough to whittle down their health.

Although a couple GT characters such as Baby Ape Vegeta, or Omega Shenron are in this, and Shenron seems playable, I have heard that thankfully, much of GT is not included in this game. I say thankfully, because I despise GT to the core, and don't want its poisoning my Dragon Ball experience. I just got the game yesterday, and am still in just the beginning stages of playing it, so I don't have much other details at present. Maybe in a few days or even weeks, I can finish this review.

While it is unfortunate that I have to admit this. Personal life issues in the household look like a very real possibility of me having to temporarily, or even permanently leave the site, depending on the outcome. I'll try to get on as much as I can, but if things go sour, I may not be around to RP or write stories on here anymore. Just a heads up to all my friends, in case I suddenly stop coming here.

Yesterday we had to put Smokey to sleep. I was hoping we could help her, but she refused to even so much as lick any food for five whole days. I didn't want to see her starve herself to death, so we just put her down. We tried helping her with IV's to keep her hydrated, but it was obvious there wasn't any more we could do for her when she flat out refused any food, wet or dry we put out before her.

I will miss her, she's been with us for a very long time. So long, in fact, I can't even remember when exactly we first got her.

      Good bye, Smokey, R.I.P

My cat, Smokey, who we've had for probably 15 to 18 years now, has just been diagnosed with failing kidneys. One of them has atrophied while the other has about 6 months left.

We've had her for as long as I can remember, I pretty much grew up with her, and seeing as we're currently having financial problems, we can't afford any long term treatments, so I don't have my hopes of over more than 6 months.

We got prescription food for her, and we'll need to spend the next week feeding her liquid from an IV hook up and see if that helps her get hydrated.
