So far I'm liking it. It's different and its takeing me a while to figure out how it's it works. I'm looking forward to when it's 100% up and running as I think that alone will make a big difference.

I want to apologise to people if i have given them some down votes on the site. I normally use my ipad or iphone to view the site which means that i often down vote instead of an up vote due to my sausage fingers and small screen combination.

If i have given anyone a down vote and not corrected it i really meant to give you a positive response.

      Happy New Year Everyone

Last year was a fantastic year! It certainly had its ups and downs but I feel like I cam out on top.

It's amazing different my year would have been if I hadn't decided to go to RTX, because of it I decided that I should probably try and meet some other people who are going. That made me become a lot more active on the site and with community get togethers. I have to say that I don't regret any of it, all the people I have met have been awesome and I can't wait to see what happens this year.

RTX was the the best decision I ever made even if it cost me an arm and a leg to get there. I went only knowing a handful of people but left knowing more than I could possibly count. The event its self was unbelievable but it's the people that really make it special. I can't wait for this year.

Out side of the site my year was also brilliant. My little brother got married which was an amazing day even though it's lead to the really irritating question of "when are you two going to get married". then in September another one of my good friends from home got married and I don't think that reception or after party will be beaten any time soon. I haven't drank for 16 hrs since I was a stupid teenager at the beginning of uni.

Unfortunately not everything this year was good. We had two deaths in our family which have left holes that won't be filled for a long time. But where there is death there is also life. My friends managed to create life in the form of 3 lovely baby's and what made it even more special was that they where all born on the same day.

I hope that this year can live up to last year, let's see what it will throw at us.

      Love, Hugs and Kisses

      Books

So as well as playing a lot of video games i also like to read. I do most of my reading when i go away for work mainly because i can't bring my xbox with me.

In the 4 weeks away from home i have read 7 books and have just started my 8th. Now i freely admit that most of these books are quick reads lasting about 6hrs, (thats what the kindle app tells me) but that doesn't mean that they aren't good books.
The first book i read was "The Crow Road" by Iain Banks. Its a brilliant story (if not a little odd, but that just bank's style). this was my second time reading it and i was just as good as when i first read it.
2nd book was "The Martian" by Andy Weir. Now this book i can't recommend enough, its a brilliant story that had me laughing out loud all the time. Its only just been released and its already been picked up for a movie. I would say read it now so you can judge the move to be poor and nothing like how you pictured it in your head! lol
Books 3 and 4 where Orbs 1 and 2 by Nicholas Sansbury Smith. These are part of a trilogy but sadly the third book isn't due out till next year. Now they are now the best science fiction in the world but i really enjoyed them and couldn't put them down.
Book 5 was "The Hydrogen Sonata" by Iain M Banks. Its was a really good read which isn't surprising as he was a fantastic author.
Number 6 was "Halo, Broken Circle" by John Shirley. Now this book is all about the formation of the covenant between the prophets and elites and then continues from the events from Halo 1 and the during Halo 2. i love all the halo extended universe and this book helps to add a little bit more information in to the relationships between some of the alien species from the games.
Number 7 was "The Hobbit" by J.R.R. Tolkien. Which is my favourite book, i have read it almost every year since i was 15. Now it is a kids book and its a really quick ready but its just amazing and it sucks you in to this amazing world which i have been in love with for half of my life.
The final book or books that i have just started is "Lord Of The Rings" which is by no means a short book but i do love it. I have read it multiple times and every time i read it i find new things to fall in love with as well as everything i loved about it when i first read the book.

Now excuse me while i get back to my books.

      A Conversation with my Girlfriend

Gf: Why don't you just give your mum a text?

      Me: I can't text her

Gf: What do you mean you can't text her? You text me earlier.

Me: I sent you an iMessage.

      Gf: That is a text!

Me: No it's an iMessage, I don't have phone reception.

      Gf: Really?

Me: Yeh I'm in the middle of the ocean.

Gf: Oh right, guess I never really thought about it.

Now I know this paints her in a bad light, but she does know the difference between an iMessage and a normal text. This was late at night for her so she was a bit tired but I just thought it was brilliant and needed to be shared.

Edit: Also this is only a tiny part of our conversation but it was the only funny part. Normally if son thing silly is going to be said I'm the one to say it.

I recently wrote this book and I'm getting people's opinions on it. If you could check it out and give me your thoughts, I would greatly appreciate it:
