Today I downloaded RT vs Zombiens and reading some of the reviews got me thinking, so here's an article I wrote on the subject of Micro-transactions and the like.

So recently I've been looking for a new book to read to help add some inspiration for a piece that I'm working on and have a specific genre/style in mind, of course it's difficult to find stuff by the very specific parts...

So here's the idea; people post the things they're looking for in a book and others give them suggestions to read, so if someone was looking for a sci-fi book that's ridiculous one suggestion would be Hitchhiker's guide.

So to kick things off, I'm looking for an adventure book that focusses on a journey, similar I guess to the Hobbit. Suggestions?

See, my sister's getting married in February, which is super awesome and I'm very happy for the two of them. Only problem is that they are having one of those 'weekend away' marriages where the family stay away with them and people don't have to drive home and they have a shorter distance to stumble after the festivities.

Actually, scrap that, that's not the problem, that's awesome.

The problem is that when they asked me (over a year before the wedding I think) if I'd be bringing a plus one, I said, with all the cocksure attitude that is my way in front of my family, of course I would be.

Well now the dinner is being planned and they want my order and my plus one's.

      Spoiler; I don't have a plus one.

So my job at the bar is officially over, and I'm out on the hunt for a new vocation. The free time means I should be about a bit more, and I get to do all the things I actually like doing again. Hello vid'ya games.

So the main season at work is kind of over, but being in some sort of position of authority means I'm still working 6 nights a week. The only difference is that now I'm actually human in the mornings because we're finishing a lot earlier and we're not all so shattered.
What this means is that I'm actually getting stuff done early on in the day, like building a new set up for my consoles and getting around to archiving Axby (however slowly that's happening) and once that's all sorted, back onto the novel for the winter!

So a long time ago one of our dogs had puppies, two of them went to some friends of ours, a few went elsewhere and we kept one. Unfortunately our dog passed away a few years ago, but one of the two we gave to our friends is still going.

      Barely.

The thing is that she's incredibly overweight. She finds it hard to walk, and from the laboured breathing by my feet right now, she has trouble breathing. It's just so horrible, since every time she visits she gets larger and larger. We've talked to the owners and they laugh it off, saying 'oh well, yes she does love food'.

That's really not cool. They don't take her for walks because they don't like dragging her along, because they've let her get so fat that she has to stop every ten steps.

I guess I'm a little on edge about it because we've not seen our eldest cat in a few days, and it being holiday season means that the road near our house is busy. She's old, but it irks me that while my cat, who's had a lovely life, is really healthy for a cat who came to us with cat flu, may be dead that this fat ass dog is still going... Somehow.

      Rant over.

      Sort of.

      For me it is anyway.
I work 6 nights a week, and have Thursdays off, which makes that my weekend. Which makes Friday my Monday.

My week is messed up basically is what I'm trying to say.

It's really quite good, especially at peak season when you're nice and busy.

When I started, the bar was dead, I'd be home by 12 every night without fail, we had loads of time to keep stocked, clean and organised. Now, it's a little different; if I get home before half one then something's gone horribly wrong, we're so busy that we never have time to keep everything just the way that it should be, and that's not helped by the fact that we've lost a lot of staff.

Because we can't keep on top of everything, I tend to get it in the ear, considering I'm a supervisor now, it's what you get for being competent enough when everyone else decides to leave I guess. So all complaints end up at my desk, also my desk is non existent so I just get that stuff thrown at me.

But it's all worth it at the end of the night, when the tills are done, the place looks clean and the team has worked really hard and are drinking the drinks they've been bought and you can chill out and have a chat. Especially when your boss comes up to you on the next shift and compliments you on keeping everything, you know, not on fire.

Since I was last on the site for any length of time (see; long enough to post a journal) a lot's happened. Work and life stuff mostly, I got a new job and then got promoted, I started a journalism site with some people I know, and the Novel's first draft is finished.
All this means I don't have an awful lot of time to hang out in forums, or in real life. But I'm working on changing that.
In other news, how absolutely awesome is this new series of Rwby?

Also, the fact that it happened so much at Uni was worrying...
