I'll start with a story how this happened.
I was just using my laptop for MSN Messenger/Windows Live Messenger, when I noticed the desktop background was flashing/flickering in what seemed to be a lower colour bit depth (If thats what it's called - basically the background had been reduced to alot less colours). MSN however, was fine in the foreground. About 10 seconds later the system blue screened, and I shut it off; thinking a restart would solve the issue.
Now, When I turn the laptop on, the screen displays a bright white image, which fades to a kind of 'dirty' grey. The HD light flashes, as it would with a normal startup, and the power light remains on. It then stays like this, untill I power it off.
I have tried connecting an external monitor to check if it was the screen, and the external monitor did not receive a signal. I have checked the RAM with no results also.
The Laptop is a Philips Freevents X57 (which I suspect is a rebadged other brand, as Philips don't admit to making laptops (good sign...)). It's running Windows Vista, on a Core 2 Duo T5500 processor, with 2GB of RAM, and a NVidia Geforce Go 7400.
I'm a bit unsure, but my guess is that its a motherboard/graphics problem?
