Ive been thinking of startin a weekly sketch thing. Like on a monday someone will throw out a topic, like say, robot pirates. Then we have one week to draw a picture. It could be any topic though, like hands, or 1 point perspective. Would anyone be interested?

Whats going on everyone, Ive decided to post a TON of my art. The way Im going to do it is this. I will post 2-3 pages of my sketchbook everyday or so.Also I need some ideas of things to draw. Make a list, make it random but keep it mature. (check past entries)

Did this last night. First every try at animation, Done on 3x5 notecards FbF then scanned into flash.

Last night I got to meet the band Pillar at the Until my heart caves in tour. It was awesome. I got all their autographs and talked with them a bit...I also found this other really great band...Kids in the way. Those guys were really nice..definatly look em up. I was a little dissapointed with the headlining band Audio Adrenilin..I had never heard them before cause I wasnt a big fan of Christian rock , they put on a good show but I just didnt like the music so much.

hmmm.. I think the arm would be a better place... or your back... but back tats... in the rights places... it can hurt a lot. When I got mine I kept in mind that I would have to be employed with it - some places don't like visable tats, but if you never plan on working at a place like that - nothing to worry about.

I guess the chest/rib cage area would look good too, though, it really depends on how big you want it and how much you want to spend.

    • dolphinpoet

That would be a cool tat. Where would you get it? Meaning...where at on your body?

    • dolphinpoet

I have a small one on the back of my left shoulder - a heart with a cross behind it and flames behind them both. It's symbolizes, Love, Faith and Passion. I want to get another one behind my right ear, but I want to design it myself, something celestial, but not just a moon or some stars. I want there to be some kind of infinity symbol, and spirals - not sure exactly what I want it to symbolize, something about music and life and how we are all connected eternally... I'm kinda spiritual.... but not religious.

I might get a buddha on the back of my right shoulder... or worked into my existing tat somehow. smiley1.gif A tat should have meaning. Not just some cartoon character like Mickey Mouse... though... an RvB related tat would rock!

    • dolphinpoet

Seemingly off topic... do you have any tats?

    • dolphinpoet

I was just making a journal entry about GBT, laying some marketing foundation, promising mods and the like, thinking of idea for your gummitar... lol... oh that's good... or I really need to get some sleep. I'm thinking I might post up the pictures for you to look at then I'll word it myself so it's more personal - something like an inside joke so no one except me and you will know what it means! Mwah ha ha ha!

That is an EXCELLENT idea. I always wanted to do a choose your own web comic adventure, but it was a lot of work just with HTML. Flash would be better, but I don't have that, nor do I know how to use it, but this...
Gummi Bear Theater doesn't need flash --- atleast not the program, just my camera flash...

You get co-producer credit now! smiley0.gif

I should. It's really funny. I especially like their expressions. lol

HEY! I could do it like StrongBad and have people email to suggest ideas for comics then choose the best one each week or something!

You got it! When I have them ready, I'll put them up on a page of my website - then you can just download the one you want - or download them all - it's good to have options to suit your mood. smiley1.gif

      Don't mind at all... smiley0.gif
I drew on their faces with a black, fine point Sharpie marker. Then I cut off the heads of those that would be beheaded with a pair of scissors. Next, I broke apart some toothpicks and shoved them through the severed heads. (God, this sounds morbid...). Next, I shoved the sharp ends of the broken tooth picks through the "hands" of the headhunters (notice all the small ones are white...going after the coloreds... I'm making a statement too)!.

Next, I created the backdrop by putting white computer paper against one of my windows, then I put down white computer paper on my window sill so everything would be on a white background. I had to stick in a few more pieces here and there to cover up bare spots behind everything.

Then, I started playing around with positions. I had to poke the ends of the toothpicks into the paper for the small headhunters because they wouldn't stand up on their own. I photographed the first image first, then placed the headhunters there to use later. Then I just started putting everyone into position.

I took some non-story related pics too to use as avatars. :) I made extras for my fans too. lol

I got into MySpace for boy... he has girlfriend... he's 20 years old...
      smiley1.gif I'm tragic.
      But I still like MySpace.

    • dolphinpoet

That's true. MySpace is MUCH more customizable. It took me awhile to get mine the way I liked it, but after 7 months I finally got the hang of it.

    • dolphinpoet

      I like it. It's a good name.
I'm sure you'd get more comments here, though, rather than MySpace, but I would do both. The more your work is seen, the better.
And eventually, you can get your own website - that's what mine is for - it's a glorified portfolio and resume.

    • dolphinpoet

You should do that. I go back and read some of the stuff I wrote back after I graduated high school and it's, like, whoa... do you have anything you could show me?

maybe it is... and MAYBE IT IS...

      but.
my sister's best friend Leia has Ben's home phone number.
I'd say that pretty damn elite.

    • dolphinpoet

Oh yeah - I know it doesn't seem possible. It was the never-ending "I'm more elite and hardcore than you because I have XX album that Ben recorded with XX back in XXXX that's only available in this format in this country" and blah blah blah. It was just stupid.

Because none of them were as elite as my sister and i's little circle of fan friends. None of them! Mwah ha ha ha ha.
I think our Benvention thread is actually still up on there somewhere, in which we proclaim that we are so elite that we LIKE Brick. LOL

    • dolphinpoet

I can tell. I used to be real into the BenFolds.Org message boards and man... it got real vicious in there. Usually about stupid stuff. I finally just dropped it because it was so ridiculous. It was fun for awhile, being mouthy and obnoxious along with those that were being the same way, but... that's just not my style.

I'm all about the love, baby.

    • dolphinpoet

Neither do I... it sounds kinda silly, but ... ... ... okay I'll just say it.
This place is really cozy, like home, it's nice.
I feel like I'm connected to something important.
      It's a good feeling.
No matter how corny that sounds.

I will totally take you up on that. Another reason I signed up here was to meet people that I can work with on projects, artits, writers, animators, etc. I like to surround myself with talented, interesting, awesome people with a good sense of humour - what better place this beautiful RvB community?

    • dolphinpoet

I haven't actually written any of them yet so I haven't sold any, but... if you can write a good screenplay that one of the major production companies wants to buy - BIG MONEY - I've just got a lot of ideas in my head, including a web series that I think could do very well... I just need collaboraters to help me focus my ideas.

    • dolphinpoet

I need to seriously upgrade my computer - and it's been awhile since I've been outta this state - I'm getting cabin fever. ... And if I'm gonna have a ps3 with blu-ray and all that - I want a crispy new flat screen HD TV.
I need to get on those screenplays I've been wanting to write so I can make some real cash.

    • dolphinpoet

Oh... I'm sure it's kickass, but $650 and it doesn't even come with a game? That's a lot of money because you figure a couple games, another controller, misc crap and you're up to about $800. I'm sure it's worth every penny, though. I just won't be able to afford one until they are year a old.
