So, in my spare time I've sort of been writing a Zombie novel, and having a really good time doing it. Thanks to Rooster Teeth, I've signed up for Audible, and downloaded a bunch of stuff (I can't pass up the buy three credits at a time deal every time I see it.) My latest purchase is Zombie Fallout, by Mark Tufo....his style is totally the way I went, even some of his premises about the main character secretly hoping for the Apocalypse, and his reasons behind it. That's sort of disheartening because if I finish it, and let anyone read it...or; as I was hoping to be able to publish it for some walking around money people will compare the two. I guess I'll have to go back and change some stuff; which is a shame because I really liked where I was going.

      That's how Fridays should sound.

I work for a large, Fortune 100 company with employees in every zip code in the US. Of these employees, I have 19,000 who I have the responsibility of communicating certain Human Resourcy things to. I'm getting ready to ramp up into my busy season, my first trip just got set for October to Anchorage. Never been there before, but looking forward to it.

I've downloaded 6 books to date through Audible.com since I signed up thanks to the shameless plugs on the podcast (yo, Gus...earn a paycheck, bro.) Two of the books I downloaded were the Day By Day Armageddon series by J.L Bourne. They are fantastic.

I am a fan of the Zombie Apocalypse, but really, who here isn't? These books follow the written account of an Air Force officer, and tells the story as journal entries. It is a very well written series, by an active duty military man. He gets his terminology right and he's an excellent story teller. I'm not going to go into great detail here, it would spoil the book. Just go out and buy them.

So I just spent yesterday playing Minecraft and streaming RvB via Amazon Prime. Had to buy season 6, and will have to buy 8 (and I'll also probably end up buying them again on Blue Ray or DVD, since I like to have complete sets of things. I have to say...

Watching the entire thing in one long view makes more sense. TBH, I didn't like the Freelancer stuff all that much until I was able to run it all together. Burnie...great story telling, bro.

Ok, So the wife is home and doing much better. The kid is now 9 weeks old and eating 4oz every 4 hrs, and crying, and pooping...but now she's talking in her little 9 week old way. I am a college educated man, having a conversation with a 9 week old. Parents are weird.

It has been a hard few days. Friday I had to take my wife to the ER, she was having severe abdominal pain. They did a few tests and determined that she had a bad gallbladder, and it had thrown a stone into the bile duct that connected it, the liver, and the pancreas. her pancreas was swelling, as was her liver. They admitted her nearly immediately...and she is still there. Doubt she'll be out of the hospital until the end of this week optimistically, realistically I think we're looking at a week from today.

All of this, plus a 6 week old...it's not been an easy few days.

Newborns don't sleep; they just lay still for ten minutes at a time. The Kid is a Month old, its hard to believe it's been this long.

A week ago today and after a 23 hour labor and delivery, my daughter Reagan Ryan entered the world, weighing 7lbs 13 oz, and measuring 19.5 in long.

      Now it begins.

Late night feedings, all night fussiness, hormonal wife...so goes life. I wouldn't trade it for anything, but I do have to admit that I am looking forward to the point, 3-9 months from now, when she can self soothe and tell us what she wants a little better. But here I go, this is an adventure, and I'm ready
