      Here we go.

      Purdueohol's RvB Tournament Challenge.

Rule 1: Be cool and Attractive

That's about it on the rules... but it's safe to say that if you stumble upon this site, you satisfy the conditions.
I set it up with a scoring system that will make sure that your score in this bracket will leave the scores in all your other brackets in the dust. I multiplied everything by 100 scratch that 10,000(Go Big Baby). It's pretty safe to say that you'll be able to rack up points like a game of Pac-Man with only that first ghost chasing you the original Dream Team, in their prime, all on steroids playing against a team of cross-eyed 12-year-olds.... With a monkey at point guard.

To keep it competitive, you get 3 brackets if you so choose. Fill out one if you like, for if you treat the tournament as a one and done affair. But I want there to be a good swell of competition, so you're all welcome to fill out 3.

So invite some people and lets get some fun going.

      The password is: trogdor

      I haven't seen anyone make a tournament bracket match-up.

So here it goes, I'm going to make one.

Now the only real question I have for you guys is what do you prefer, ESPN or CBS?

Watch come noon, I'll have something up here.

Also, I realize it would have been better to check more than 3 people's journals before assuming that no one has done a bracket challenge, but that just wouldn't be how I roll.

I've been offline form here a lot.

You all have about 5-12 Journals I need to read.

I love Katie. That is something that everyone already knows.

I got a new job with the US Census Bureau. It pays really well, and will last a while.

That love statement above shouldn't look like a girlfriend asked me to put it in. ( she sees this and is now tickling me immensely.)

I think I win on that "Fight"

She cooks well too, but she doesn't do the dishes enough.

      :P
Guess what she is doing now?

      LOL's

      Seriously though.

Today he reversed America's ban on Government funding of Stem Cell Research. It has been a major issue to approve of the research because around half the country is against it. Now I am for the research in some ways and then against it for others. Unrestricted research is dangerous, and restrictions must be written and upheld if bans are going to be lifted. But that's not the Obama way.

Other than that, I feel sorry for those of you whose beliefs we trampled upon today. I know it's unfair to you that things happened the why they did and that now a percentage of your tax dollars are now going to things that you don't believe in and don't support. But that seems to be the way today's government works.

I also apologize to England for the outlandish abuse President Obama insulted you with today. You have always been our greatest ally and from the Americans that are not members of the current administration; I'm sure we know that you are worth more to us than what you are worth to President Obama... $250... (Also they can be returned to Walmart on your next trip to America, I'm sorry there is region encoding too)

I also apologize to Russia, I know Mrs. Clinton insulted you today. That joke of a gift was insulting and you should be upset. Take a breath, not all American's support Mrs. Clintons' decisions or herself. I really am sorry what she did you you, if I could send you a consolatory present, I would.

Foreign relations nightmares with our closest and most valued allies look to be common with this Administration. And I thought Biden was supposed to be a foreign relations genius... At least that is what the Democratic party told us... to strengthen Obama's shortcomings? ... I surely hope this isn't an indication of anything.

Edit: Just to clarify I'm talking about being against government funded stem cell research. Stem Cell research has gone on just fine in this country as privately funded field.

Total snow fall for our house was 1' 2"

      That's a ton of snow.

2 Days had 2+ hours of shoveling. The only way you could shovel was like scoop and throw. (I prefer the plow method)

I am sore, but I kicked that snows ass. I bet we have the best looking driveway in the state.

By moving over a foot of snow, it created mounds that range anywhere from 3-5.5 feet all along the driveway. This one near our door is as tall as my car. Maybe pics soon, but we lost the camera battery charger.

Other news, my box is shipping back, so maybe some more live soon. We'll see.

I don't support Democrats or Republicans, but thanks to their monopoly on political power I feel that I have to vote for one of them. If Hillary gets the Dem nomination I'm for sure voting 3rd party.

Nation v. country is just more semantics.

    • TheAlbacor

You seem determined to hate this country. I know it's not a perfect political system, but it does constantly improve and evolve.

Ahh, the "hate the country" semantics come out, eh? Wrong, I hate the leaders of this country and the big business interests they serve. I love the people who actually make a difference. I love the working people, I love the people in the public service sector. Hell, I even love plenty of white collar people. Many of these people have the best of intentions, but I believe that our leaders have become corrupt and only serve the corporate interests. We do improve, but the improvements are in causing wider ignorance and spreading apathy to what is happening politically. Have you ever seen any politicians actually trying to get more people to vote? I've only seen them trying to get current voters to switch sides... and yes, some of that is on the people.

Since when is wanting to view the reality of things a biased viewpoint for or against a country? The things we did are FACTUAL. There is no bias there.

Ever since Hitler tiptoed his way to taking half of Europe, the American policy with threats to security is not appeasement. Negotiation and diplomacy don't work against dictators, and it never has. Give me a time when negotiation and diplomacy has solved a problem with a dictator and I'm sure you can find 5 instances of where it didn't (and criticisms for not taking action earlier).

You must not have read what I had said... the leaders I mentioned (besides Saddam) were not human rights violators. They stuck up for their people and took their resources out of the hands of our corporations, who were exploiting their people (think America in the late 1800s/early 1900s).

They were, besides Torrijos, DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED, and not dictators... I hope that's the last time I have to state that.

    • TheAlbacor

Well, I would defend that this country had also done a lot of good in the world. The government gives away research grants, school grants, donations, welfare, social security, aid to foreign countries in need, ect. Which is a much better list of positives than countries like Nazi Germany, or Stalin's USSR, and

This government gives more money away to the rich in other countries so that they can bribe the military and subjegate the poor to produce consumer goods that will be shipped to us. We fund many propoganda campaigns toting newly created electrical facilities as progress to these countries, when in actuality the rich leaders are really the only ones who benefit from it. Brazil and Chile are great examples of this. The money often comes from our government to pay for these things, but who do you think is building them? Our corporations.

So, not only are we helping the elites in other countries, companies like Halliburton and Bechtel are essentially receiving all of our tax money and the said country's petrodollars (or whatever they offer). The same thing is happening in Iraq. The only difference is that the elite (Saddam) in Iraq was ready to stop complying with us, just like Omar Torrijos (Leader of Panama who we had killed via bomb on plane and replaced by Manuel Noriega, a renowned CIA pawn turned double agent for Cuba), Salvador Allende (Socialist president of Chile who we had killed and replaced by ruthless dictator Pinochet), or Mohammed Mossdegh (president of Iran before the CIA had him killed and supported the ruthless dictator shah)

if you would rather live in a country that takes no responsibility to what other countries are doing and live in isolation, the you can live in Switzerland and build up walls around your cities like Calvinists.

No, I'm saying that instead of simply resolving that every issue can be solved by violence, why can't we try diplomacy. And people wonder why this country has the highest rate of violent crime amongst industrialized non-Third World countries... Why the hell should our people try to reason with each other when our government doesn't try to reason with other governments?

    • TheAlbacor

Prove that Iraq didn't have them. I really didn't want to go to war with them, but just because we didn't find them doesn't mean they didn't exist at some point.

So, now we should start attacking people just because they MIGHT do something? Well, based on that advice I'm going to go across the street and murder my neighbor because he MIGHT have a high-powered rifle aimed at my house... I'll warn him about searching the house first, and if he doesn't let me, I'll slit his throat. Then when I don't find anything I'll still feel justified, even though I'll be watching his house the whole time to make sure nothing gets out.

If Saddam had any semblance of intelligence, he would have been selling off and moving those missiles while the US was justifying to people like you and the UN of going to war with him.

If the U.S. has some semblance of intelligence we'd have monitored his exports... which I have no doubt in my mind that we did. Do I need to remind you that Rumsfeld said he KNEW exactly where some were AFTER the war had started? We had the places surrounded that supposedly had weapons, but we still didn't find anything, even though we KNEW they were there.

Keeping our hands out of things that happen in other countries is the same way Hitler strengthened Germany and started WWII and it took us until the fight was on our home front to actually fight. Do you call that good policy?

There's a big difference here. We supported and aided Saddam up until he stopped playing our game. We gave him the chemical weapons and the ability to use them even AFTER he attacked the Kurds. If Saddam's a bad guy for doing all this stuff, what does that make us for increasing his capability for mass murder?

Do you want Saddam to kill people from other countries until someone steps in and tries and stop him? He was already killing his own people, and so was Stalin and Hitler. I would rather stop him now, before something worse happened.

You're right, it's good he was stopped before we could give him more advanced weapons. Also, our military has killed nearly as many Iraqis as Saddam did. And actually, if you want to talk about indirect murder, the U.S. has killed nearly all the Iraqis who have died from violence in the last 20 years.

God forbid we look at the realities behind what happened and who we supported and how long we supported them. It would be horrendous if Americans actually took a look at how many democratically elected leaders we've had killed simply because they kicked our mining/oil companies out and made their country's resources public...

We might just realize that the most violent, most hated, most ignorant country in the world is us. Then what?

Yeah, Orange Box kinda rekindled my interest in PC gaming. I am a TF2 addict at the moment. And Portal is one of the greatest games I've ever played.

And I'd say it is much better to get OB on PC, because so much of the entertainment in Portal and TF2 comes from user created content, unavailable on the 360.
