Well, as most of you have probably figured out, I don't come by here much anymore. I've been busy. Its been fun discussing / arguing everything from religion and politics to LOST, but I think its time for me to move on. I'm going to leave my account up, but I probably wont be checking it more than a few times a year. Peace.

      Refractor

I've noticed that over the past year it has become more and more fashionable in the Rooster Teeth community to actively bash Christians. I don't mean simply tastefully disagreeing (i.e. Tealwarrior and dragon77), or putting up images to see what kind of reaction you'll get (i.e. Trisket), I mean actively doing everything in your power to insult and belittle something that many people hold dear. The question of wether God exists or not aside, the basic argument seems to be that Christians are intolerant, conceitful and arrogant because they disaprove of such things like homosexuality and abortion. I guess its politicaly incorrect to have an opinion now days, unless of course it invloves the bashing of religion. Yet with posts such as "Fuck Jesus", "Not only is Jesus Hitler, he's also Lucifer!", and this wondeful image becomming more and more popular, it seems to me that Christians aren't the intolerant ones. In actuality I'm not a very religious person at all, there is a lot I don't like about it. I do, however, believe in God, and while we're all entitled to our opinions, this is rediculous. I come to these forums to have a good time, not to be insulted everywhere I turn.

EDIT: Im not trying to make myself out to be a victim, this is after all the internet, and I realise that in the real world Christianity is the most wide spread religion. I just felt that something needed to be said. I had no idea that I would get so many responses in such a short time.

Anyway, so recently some foreign exchange student posted this video on the school forums. Basically, it claims that the United States government was responsible for the 9/11 attacks. Needles to say, this makes me angry. In fact it makes me borderline furious.

The video is full of B.S. claims that range from the seemingly plausible to completely irrelevant. Two of my favorites go something like this: "The only two buildings in history to ever collapse from a supposed fire are the twin towers" and "satellite photos taken of the pentagon a few days before the attack show a white line painted on the ground that just happens to follow the supposed trajectory of the jet." What's really funny though (in a manner of speaking), is that they keep flip flopping between what "really happened" to the pentagon. They go from claiming that it was a military aircraft to a missile and back to a military aircraft. Yet while they make no attempt to explain what happend to the jet that my friend's father was traveling on that day, or much less what happened to him, they still having the audacity to dedicate the film to those that lost their lives.

I could go on and on about whats wrong with all the things in the video, but I won't. Rather, I will instead point you towards this article published by Popular Mechanics that attempts to explain away the stupidity.

Anyway, I'd love to discuss this. But be warned, watching the conspiracy video may very well make you mad. And for those of you who honestly believe that we would inflict such a tradgey upon ourselves, feel free to post here too, (especially if you want to be torn to shit) but be specific about what you think the video is correct on and give me the time stamp so I can watch it and make a "rebuttal," to put it nicely.

I found this intresting to watch.
Don't worry, its not long, its from ytmnd.com but it makes a good point.

It doesn't matter who you are or where your from. It doesn't matter if your a republican or a democrat. It doesn't matter who your president or prime minister is or what they do. It doesn't matter if your from the Americas, Europe, or Australia. It doesn't matter if you have troops in the Middle East or not. Fundamentalists will find a reason to hate you. Im surprised that Canada and Australia haven't been attacked, because as is painfully obvious, it only takes a few people to draw a few sketches, to make you fair game for killing......

We need to stop bickering about who's president and who's not, about why a city built below sea level flooded or who's fault it was, or about the prices of oil. We, the world community, need to open our eyes to the real threat, need to recongize that there are people out there who want us all dead so that they can have sex with 72 virgins when they die. People who want to kill us so they can have sex.

This is not a pro-war or anti-Islamic journal. This is a wake up call brought about because an author wanted to write a book about Islam. Because someone wanted to portray Muhammad in a good light. Its horrifiying that such a good intention could lead to this, but such are the fundamentalists.....

So my friend asked me if I wanted to go to this Microsoft seminar at my school about voice recognition and to see a demonstration of Windows Vista. There would also be free food and a free raffle. So I went. Anyway, I ented my name in the raffle for the chance to win various things. Halo PC, a keyboard and mouse, Microsoft Office and other stuff. They also had an orange ZEN MP3 player, which was the last thing to be raffled off. They reached into the box....and pulled out my name! Its sweet, I didnt have an MP3 player. It can hold something like 2500 songs, which is fine for me. Now I have to go through and convert all my iTunes files to MP3 (ugh, lots of burning and ripping). I dont really have a need for iTunes now, I dont have and iPod and they won't play on the ZEN unless converted. After I convert them I'll probably delete iTunes and go back to good ol' Media Player. Dont get me wrong, I like iTunes, but its counter productive now.......I won a ZEN!!

EDIT: I decided to keep iTunes, its a good program and I like the way it organizes my music. I'll just convert the files on an as needed basis if I want to play them in my player.

I have been playing for about 4.5 years now. I began seriously with my Imperial Guard, and then Moved on to Tau. Got sick of them and sold em. Now, I am working on a Space Marine army with a side of Daemonhunters. It's neat because I can use my Daemonhunters with my Guard or Marines. I have roughly 2,000 pts of Guard, 1,500 of Spacemarines, and a little less than 500 of Daemonhunters.

Evolution fits under number 2 and number 3, therefore it also fits under number 1.

      Really?

2 a : a department of systematized knowledge as an object of study <the science of theology> b : something (as a sport or technique) that may be studied or learned like systematized knowledge <have it down to a science>

Evolution is not knowledge, look up the word, Knowlege is beyond a reasonable doubt, and there is a reasonable doubt in the case of evolution. Therefore, I must protest, there is not enough to say that evolution is based on knowlege, rather upon educated guesses(and who could do better, no one will know), which still require some amount of faith. When taking a test, you believe that you have selected the right answer when using an educated guess, but you still may be wrong. All of the pieces are not there for the theory of evolution, and therefore I choose to place my faith in my interepretation of God. If there were more less controversial proof to support evolution, I may believe that it is true, but the fact of the matter is that no one knows, or will know for a long time(if at all while alive), if the assumptions made about evolution, both whether it is true or not, are correct. I think that as a Christian you would understand that you there are some things that you will never know, and rather than get pissed off about it, state your opinion, but then realise that the likely hood of being correct is the same as the person who belives to the contrary, and move on.

PLEASE READ THIS WHOLE POST. IT'S SO DANG TRUE* 1. At least 2 people
in this world love you so much they would die for you. 2. At least 15 people
in this world love you in some way. 3. The only reason anyone would ever
hate you is because they want to be just like you. 4. A smile from you can
bring happiness to anyone, even if they don't like you. 5. Every night,
SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep. 6. You mean the world to
someone. 7. If not for you, someone may not be living. 8. You are special
and unique. 9. Someone that you don't even know exists loves you. 10. When
you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from it. 11. When
you think the world has turned its back on you, take a look: you most likely
turned your back on the world. 12. When you think you have no chance of
getting what you want, you probably won't get it, but if you believe in
yourself, probably, sooner or later, you will get it. 13. Always remember
the compliments you received. Forget about the rude remarks. 14. Always tell
someone how you feel about them; you will feel much better when they know.
      15. If you have a great friend, take the time to let them know that they are
great. Add this as a comment to ten of your friends tonight and at midnight
your true love will find you. Something good will happen to you at 2:25
tomorrow. Get ready for the biggest shock of your life. Whoever breaks this
chain letter will be cursed with 10 relationship problems for the next ten
years tag ur it!! this is so scary!!! send this to 15 ppl in the next 143

About the STi gauges: show me show me! Waiting for a pic....

Oh and I got mine to 95, with my mud and snow tires still on. It's the handling I love. We have this wicked 15 mph serpentine thing going on down town with a tight 90 degree turn to the left followed by a tight 90 degree to the right, followed by a smooth 45 to the left down an incline. Only they threw in a couple of cement islands in there which makes the 90's less than 90. Did that make sense? I took it in the rain at 35. Thank God 35 was the speed limit so the cop that was watching me take the turns couldn't pull me over. He was stunned, especially when I stuck in my lane. That baby hugs....

I think a good majority of modern Christians forget the church was founded for spiritual, not material gain.

We're in danger of becoming Christianity: Incorporated, just like the BSA. smiley3.gif
The corportization of the BSA is something I'm personally concerned with. We'll stop thinking about morals and building character and instead focus on money and boosting numbers (for the sake of numbers). smiley3.gif

    • ShirtGuyDom

You missed the point in both pics. You just automatically assumed all this stuff from my Darwin picture, like that i think that if you believe in God you can't believe in science and evolution...but I never said any of that. I said that you can believe what you want to, I guess for you I'd just have to post every combination of things that you could believe in...

The anti-Bush/anti-America pic is saying that they aren't mutually exclusive. Did you miss out on Algebra? An equation sign with a slash through it means the two things on both sides of the equation are not equal.

True that on the cpu speed. mine runs at 266 fsb, but i wat to get the the athlonxp 3200+ (2.2ghz) 400mhz fsb which also doubles the fsb to 800mhz. my laptop has the hypertransport technology, but my desktop doesnt. If i get that 3200+ cpu for my board it will be the best processor this board can handle. i have 1.5gb ram and that works for me cuz it speeds the system up quite nicely.

Her attitude, mostly. She's very disrespectful. And the fact that while Bush, Cheney, and Rummy have all been taken to task for Iraq, she's avoided the criticism. And, finally, because she replaced the only one in this administration who actually had brains (in my opinion): Colin Powell.
