      Polar bears like ribs too.

Polar bears are the best bears.

In India, people use elephants to tow logs through the jungle.

      Ice rainbows exist.

Polar bears don't give a fuck 'bout nothin'.

You know what? As dead as this site is, you have all still been good people to talk to and everything else, so I may as well give you a quick journal.

I graduate high school this sunday. I already have had my last ever of a few classes with the last of them coming tomorrow. It's kind of a sad feeling, all of the people in my class have been with me literally since preschool save for about 10 of them and I'm only going to the same college as one of them. I've known all of these people since I can remember and in four days I'll probably never see most of them again in my life. We'll see how this goes, I guess.

I got a new computer a couple nights ago. MacBook Pro, 15.4". Why? 100% for Garageband. I love this program so much it's unreal. I can literally sit for hours on end and just mess with effects and have a better time than I've ever had in Halo or anything else.

So Nicole's coming out here to Wisconsin, which is pretty shocking considering that most people that live here wouldn't come here if they had the option. I suppose it's about time though, since I've already been out there three times (and don't read into that as a passive-aggressive "ABOUT TIME"). It's going to be a great time, I'm excited already.

A couple weeks ago our art class visited a museum in downtown Madison, and during lunch we were allowed to wander around the city for about two hours. I ended up wandering into a record/CD shop with a few friends and it was a really amazing coincidence. Firstly, on my end, I found a copy of Ugly Casanova's Sharpen Your Teeth, an album that I had believed to be out of print. It's a half-folk, half-experimental album made by a sub-supergroup headed by Isaac Brock, the singer from Modest Mouse. This is great for two reasons: Firstly, the song Hotcha Girls off this album has to be the most awe-inspiringly beautiful song I've ever heard, and secondly, I now own every album Isaac's been a part of that is still available today (there are a few old MM EPs that I'll probably never find, but I've already given up on those). Secondly, to my friends' benefits, that day just happened to be the same day that the metal band Mastodon was making an appearance at that same store. True, it was about four hours after we were there, but since they bought an album of theirs they got priority to be in the front of the line that night if they made it. And they did. Grant got his cymbal signed by the whole band and Eric got his bass signed as well, and the next day they had me project the Mastodon logo (pretty much just a font, but who's counting?) onto each of their objects before they clear-coated it, so it's kind of nice to know that I'll be a part of that memory even though I wasn't there when they met the band.

Lastly, I've been watching Mighty Boosh nearly non-stop since I bought the whole series in one collection. This is seriously the greatest show in history, bar none. I can't nearly give it enough praise; it's surrealist British humor alongside music, but they let the music be a main pillar of the show instead of just an afterthought and it really makes the whole show better for it.

Well, that's pretty much all that's going on with me. Sup with you?

      Well now I know that.

I'm still gonna have to be sneaky about playing it when I first get it. My parent's frown upon any sort of media during the week.

I actually started playing a few weeks ago with a friend, because we have so much free time in school. We were playing Uno a lot, but it got quite boring. So we picked Pokemon back up.

Such a shame, given all we've been through. Nicole, Morgan, other people's names, Chad's quiz, a comic that was never made, videos that were never made, Markov chains, Cambodia... Good times. We should reminisce over coffee some time. Care to meet me in Medford around 2:00 on Sunday?

i can tell--she's one of those incredible, wildly insane/brilliant people that brings out the best in others, whether she means to or not.

it really would be something else if it WERE Loryn or me.

    • _blackrose

that and their description of the Nicole in question is pretty dead on. i can't say that it was me personally, though she definitely has that impact on my life--that happens when you know a person for 17 years.
maybe it was Loryn, or maybe it's not even our Nicole at all.

      it certainly is interesting though.

In case you are not aware, there has been a shift in "management", and I am pursuing ideas to make the group more dynamic and member-involved.

Currently, we are working on the "Cool wall." More information is available on the most current TGFC News entry. However, if you have more ideas, be sure to let me know.
