All is well and my unit is doing great. Well I guess I should go and look at all the stuff I've missed Huh?

Yo how ya'll been? Seem like me being in the desert would mean I would post more offten huh? Well not really I let a guy barrow my computer and he broke it so i get to use the wonderfull Military Communications Center. Yeah anyway the whole Sniper Thing Yeah I sorta got fucked and fucked myself all at once. I could have gone but pretty much just didn't. I was mostly talked/ordered/bribed out of it. Oh well Theres next year. I am now officialy the Platoon Radio oporator for 3rd Bn 4th Mar Weapons company assault Platoon. Yeah It's some experemental platoon. Im an 0311, the good old crunchy. There are usualy no 11's in wpns co but they had to pull so many 11's from the other 11's platoons that they decided to have there own 11's platoon. We were supposed to have trucks and be a dissmount but we left our trucks with 1/4 or 2/7 or someone and they got blown up so now we ain't got trucks any more. Oh well that's life. So thats a basic overview of whats gone down see ya'll around.

Ok I've adapted to the guard life, though it sucks it's not to bad. I've seen some pretty funny things and learned a little...key word little haha. We have a lot of free time that we either use for sleeping, watching various B rated movies and playing our PSP's. It was amazing to see how many people went out and bought a PSP the first week. these things are great but I was still surprised. When we picked up with guard the old guard said we might we messed with by Marines training for recon on this one particular route, R/T 3. I have finally been able to go on this route and have come to think is is little more than rabbits. These little guys are every where and when you alone in the dark woods you could be misled to thing there was someone out there. So my conclusion is, It's rabbits or really bad recon guys. The Officers here are awesome. They are nothing like the officers at MCRD. They tell you all kind of cool stuff like this one time when a guys was saying " I know an LAV is supposed to top out at 60MPH but I know for a fact that they go 82 down I-5. " Ha! It's great isn't it! These guys are not those guys you walk on the other side of the base just to avoid. they are actually really cool guys. Well I found out that I pick Up with my training Company this Thursday. I'll be in Bravo Company, or Bootcamp Bravo it's named. But Hey I'm here for a challenge so I'm not afraid. Well I'll catch you guys later!

      Wow it's getting really close.
That erie excited nourvousness is really starting to set in.
Im ready to go but wow. It's finaly here and real.
Today I go back to meps for final processing and stuff.
Im going to have my dad update this blog all throughout bootcamp
He will put my address at bootcamp here soon alos.
Feel free to write anytime and I'll try to keep you all updated as much as possable.

      And now for Pt 2006/08/31

We went out to the woodlands waterway for a little 2 mile run.
Then we did LOTS of uperbody work in the little park thing by Market street.
By lots I mean each recruter (all 9 of them) got to lead us in Marine corps push ups incrementing by ten each time. That was fallowed but an excurcise I forget whats called but its basicly benchpressing on you knees without anything in your hands. But that was too easy so they added some good old flutter kicks to give us a good workout.
After that we did a motavational run up and down the waterway singing some Cadences.
The People at Landrys got a good kick out of that.

I may or may not get to put up an update on saturdays Poolee Function so I figured I'd give you the just of what we are gonna do.
We are going bask to Galvaston for a 5 mile run, and IST Just like last time minus the buul in the ring and subing the 1.5 mile run for a 5 mile run.

Well thanks again and see ya friday or sunday.

      I'm Leaving!
September 11th is my new ship date. I think I'm finally "ready" to leave too.
Sure you can't ever really be ready for bootcamp but I am finally ready to go.
All mi life I have wanted to join the military but I never really planed on the Marines.
For years I wanted to go to the Air Force. I mean was dead set on it. But when I got to the recruiting station i saw this fat guy in a sweater sitting there eating some chips and chugging down a coke. I was like. What is this? This is not what I want. I want to be the best. So I went to the Marine Recruiting station and enlisted. Now I'm leaving to become the best of the best. A Marine.

      Today was great.
We started the day with a nice little mile run.
Then we ran another mile doing various endurance exercises.
Then we did a mile relay in which my team came in around the middle.
Then came the bear crawl down 50 meters and back 50 meters.
And then the last exercises was the crab walk 50 meters and 20 push-ups and sprint back.
Well, When I say that was the last exercises It was, but that wasn't the end of it.
Because some of the people didn't finish we had to do 60 push-ups.
Football! To top it all off we played a game of Ultimate Football. Its like Ultimate Frisbee.

Now one thing you have to keep in mind when reading these post is that Pt starts a mile away from where we do all this stuff. So we have to march double time a mile to and from the Station.

      that's all,
      Simper Fi!

Yeah Its Pugle Time! But you can't do pugles all fresh and rested now can you. We started the day with the new recruters choice warm-ups (since we now have 7-10 it works). We ran through the good ol' sidestratle hop, hello dollys, Marine Corps push-ups, six-inches, Mountain Climbers, Lunges, and Cherry Pickers. Following that was a good mile sprint and some form of the shuttle run. We were on a football field so they had us sprint to the fifteen yard line and do twenty and run back and then do the thirty and so on and so forth.

Then we got a three minute break and we were split into weight classes and did the pugle. Where my turn ended with a quick blow to the head and a simultaneous blow to his chest. They missed mine and I lost. But Eah it was all good.

Next week we are not having the Thursday PT because we are going to Galviston to run a PFT on the beach...fun...After that The Gunny is going to show us the new "Ears Open Eye Balls Click" Video (For those who don't know its about bootcamp).

Alright Ill post about the PFT later that night unless Im too dog tired.

Once again if you would please sign my petition. Details Here

Once again I asked for your help. I know this isn't MySpace but most of you probobly have one. Because as an American company things like that just shouldn't be alowed. We are at times when the world is full of uncertainty and darkness. We find ourselves blaming eachother for things we do not do. I ask for your help. I ask to support those brave and Honorable young men and women who unselfishly join in such a time as this. It doesn't matter if you are for the war or against it, it doesn't matter if you like Bush or not, Our Troops deserve much better.

Danger Close is a great book, though I think some people will be disappointed when it doesn't get into great details about Michael Yon's various opertions and actions in SF as much as it talks about his journey as a person. So I'm guessing you've been checking out his blog, right? Best "reporting" I've seen out of the GWOT yet. I list Michael Yon as one of those role models who, both as a Soldier and a civilian, has inspired me.

Hey, thanks for the compliment bro. All I want right now is a chance to get back to walking the walk instead of talking it. The waiting is sooooo frustrating.

Well, I never could make any of the pictures work with what was there already. I tunred it in a couple days before the grading period ended, bu t I dont know if I actulay got conted. Wether it did or not, I got a near unheardof final grade in the class, 18/20 (Here, 20=100, but you NEVER get 100 in art class. So yeah, I did REALLY well, and I'm very pleased)

Heres how it turned out in the end.

Sorry I couldnt get them to work with what I had, but thanks for finding them, and thanks for asking about the project.

Since this was the my first time on this bike, I just did 20 miles, i took an hour and 16 minutes. Soon I'll start doing some rides around 50-70. On my moutain bike, I've done 75 at most, tand normally I do about 40, in 2 hours.

Not in the least. It was a concept for an advanced version of my take-down gun. It woyld have barrels for both long and shot bands, and a place to store the unused barrle on the gun, aswell as a flashlight. Due to lack of nesecary tools, its dieing.

The relief effort was one of the worst in history. ANd having a former (kicked out) horse show runner as the director of FEMA? Come on, how could that have NOT been avoided. WHile it was a combination of idiots with political control, which resulted in such a catastophe. Even if the leeve break couldn't have been avoided (which the could have), with proper planning, and EXECUTION of the plans, things would have gone ALOT smoother.
