After spending a little too much of my own money at Michael's today, I have what I need to make funny lookin' robot puppets for "Chadwick Perriwinkle" (yes...that is part of the title of the webseries!) There are a few pieces I bought that I can take back to the store tomorrow. I tend to over-buy frequently. All-in-all, I'm only really spending $10 of my own money because I needed more hot glue sticks and paint for myself anyways.

Over the course of today: glue gun burns, unintentional glue huffing, there is paint EVERYWHERE, a plastic sliver embedded in my hand, and I was jumped by a raccoon on my way back to my apartment.

Ok, he didn't really jump me. Poor little guy fell out of a bush and scared me half to death. When he heard my girly shriek, he looked up at me and whined. I felt bad. I know those little suckers can be MEANER THAN HELL...but this rolly-poly little dude was adorable. He had a look about his fuzy face that seemed to say "Sorry for scaring the shit out of you, crazy human lady." I let the little guy take the path first. He waddled off, climbed a tree, and looked me in the eye. I was on my way.

When I get excited about helping out with a project, I REALLY go all out. I want to help with as much as I can. I'm pretty easy to work with, I take direction well, and I love to be involved.

This leads to incredible experiences, life-long friendships on the personal and the professional level, learning new things, and...

the painful and heart attack-inducing realization that you have put too much on your plate.

I've never made puppets outside of something made from a paper bag or sock. I'm up for the challenge, but scared shitless that I'm essentially designing these lil' bastards myself with very little knowledge of the script and no fucking clue as to how to make their mouths work.

I am slightly saved. In the last hour, the director/writer/star sent out a wonderful email proclaiming that these robot puppets don't really need to have moving mouths (it's preffered, but he's cool with just bobbing the things around the set).

      RELIEF.

But I'm still nervous abotu doing a "good job". I'm making these 2 robot puppets out of found material (plastics, craft foam, model magic, latex, old computer parts, hot glue, duct tape, paint) with no reference art. I have some ideas breakdancing in my head that look terrific in my mind's eye...

I just hope I can make it happen in the physical realm.

I have til thursday night to make it happen. DOn't worry...my old friend ANXIETY is keeping close company while I pull a couple of all-nighters to make the Chadbots come to life.

      Wish me luck! ^_^

Not to say the the family I was born into doesn't rock...my parents are AMAZING.

My in-laws...let's just say that we are over there right now at the in-laws playing with computers. Chris is ghosting some computers, I'm reformatting my laptop, my sister-in-law (we call each other "Slaw") is running cables, mother-in-law is playing some games on her PC, father-in-law is cataloging his external hard drives...

We are all joking around and quoting Red vs Blue (my cousin-in-law's name is TUCKER).

      Life is geeky and good.

      No...not really...but a LAN party is happening...right now.

We are over at Phoenix and Tanya's with all of our computers playing WoW together. Rai has joined us and we are KICKING ASS. ^_^

Gaming with friends is the best way to spend a rainy saturday. As an added bonus, we will also be watching the UFC pay-per-view tonight as well.

Today will be filled with laughing, yelling, and BLOOD. smiley13.gif

Playing Bioshock after midnight always gives me this wonderfully ANXIOUS feeling. Every sound I hear in the apartment makes me think there's a damn splicers stealing food from my fridge or something like that.

I love this game. I haven't loved a first-person shooter this much since DOOM2...I see this game in my sleep...when I actually get to sleep...on the nights I'm not freaking myself out by playing Bioshock til the wee hours of the morning...

Tomorrow I'm meeting my folks in downtown Seattle for lunch. If I get up early enough, Chris and I will go out for breakfast! Man, I'm not gonna have to cook at all tomorrow!

Penny Arcade, PvP Online, and Wil Wheaton all get together and play D&D. (I'm listening to series 3)

If I had a group like this back in college this fucking awesome to play D&D with, I would not have quit.

I'm trying not to laugh too loud...I don't wanna wake up Chris XD

      Go over to Leo's journal.
The goal is to get a handicap playground built in Richmond, Kentucky. This is a marvelous idea! Even if you don't live in Kentucky or have kids...this is an important goal. If it works in Kentucky, we might get more handicap playgrounds in other places as well.

Rooster Teeth really knows their audience.
They came up with the brilliant idea to give awards and karma points on the site to the members who meet the criteria. They are feeding the ravenous gamers inside us all by promising little graphics that make us think we are special; little awards that mean nothing in the real world...you can't hold it in your hand or place it in a frame for the world to drool over...

And yet...We totally dig this shit, dude.

      Those diabolical bastards. smiley8.gif

      PS...no. I DON'T know how to properly use a semi-colon. I will NOT apologize. smiley8.gif
