I knew it would take something exceptional for myself to return to the RT site and posting journals, but RTX London was that and more.

When announced, I immediately grabbed tickets without a thought,  with RTX Austin always just out of reach. You can't plan for the unexpected and this stopped many trips over countless years. I had no friends within the RT community and was going down as a loner, I enjoy my own company but was willing to be a bit more social to guarantee a productive trip. I shared a hotel room with 2 members of the RTUK community, lovely folk who were always friendly and conversational. I know their real names but none of the details on the site!

The weekend was a blast, yes lots of queuing, but much fun talking to other con-goers, guardians and staff to pass the time. I saw many panels: Writers block, Ladies of RT, Off Topic, RT podcast, Voice acting. Saw the RT staff from a distance, but that's fine, I missed out on autographs but that's not really my thing anyway. Same with photos and merch, I have zero from the event, but that doesn't mean the event didn't happen or the memories and conversations at the con don't exist.

All in all a successful trip, looking forward to next year with a determination to be a better part of this community and expand horizons even further!

Shout out to the RTUK Facebook group who kept us updated and in contact with other attendees.

Been playing Pokemon Revolution Online, a fan-made Pokemon MMO. Sister looks over and says "You're still playing Pokemon?" pretty condescendingly.

This is a girl who would say "I'm doing pretty well for a girl" whilst beating the pants off of anyone at driving games or call of duty, and loves playing single player stuff when I bring the console home. No confidence, it's still a boys hobby after all, I'm still trying to drive that idea out of her head.

I get the feeling the family still think it's a phase, so I'll grow out of it eventually. Boy, they'll be waiting a long time.

Well to be honest its been rather crap, family deaths, illness, and a project that's going nowhere quickly to it off. Now I can't even drown my sorrows to some bangin' tunes on a Friday night on RT Radio? Abhorrent.

I'm ending my Masters in a month and with everything that's occurred, I haven't had time to contemplate about the future, so I'm really bent over with my pants around my ankles ready for whatever the future's packing.

So in it's absence, I thought I'd give you a glimpse of what's in my RT Radio playlist, a personal favourite live performance of mine.

With everyone hesitant to post on the new site, hope you're all doing well! :)

I lost my journal regarding the death of Jules Bianchi, I was proud of that :(

And I lost my name change to boot as well :(

EDIT: Thanks to whomever got my journal back!

Jules Bianchi entered the world of motorsport from a young age through the karting scene, in which he rapidly achieved success and quickly graduated to the Formula Renault championship. He achieved victory in his first year and established himself as one to watch for this generation of motorsport drivers.

Now signed on to the Ferrari young drivers programme, it seemed that Ferrari had a grand plan for this protege, which included gaining relevant experience in F1 through the lower ranking teams including Marussia and potentially Sauber, both of whom were customers of the Ferrari engine. He achieved outstanding headlines at Marussia, where he earned the teams first ever World Championship points by placing 9th in the 2014 Monaco GP, in the drive of his career and the highlight for many of 2014.

At the 2014 Japanese GP, following an excursion by Force India on the previous lap, Jules lost control amid heavy rain to collide with the response vehicle tasked with removing the previous accident. Jules received heavy head trauma and was immediately taken for intensive surgery, when he fell into a coma in which he stayed for 9 months.

Today, on 18/07/15, Jules Bianchi was pronounced dead by his family and loved ones, to a significant outpour of condolences and grieving from the fans of the sport and Jules. A driver who delivered so much promise and excitement, who clearly loved life, but not as much as he loved racing in Formula 1, his lifelong dream and ambition laid out in front of him.

Box, box, box, Jules. This stint is complete.

      RIP Jules Bianchi

With the new site open, I thought I might finally change my username, as I'd really regretted this after a month from joining the site. Unfortunately the name I'd really like was taken by an account that was 9 years old!

So I've been lying in wait.

It's been a year and no activity, no friends and no comments.

I messaged Caleb and asked whether it was possible to get the name, I log in today and BAM.

      THANK YOU CALEB! smiley0.gifsmiley13.gif

I've been away from the site for the last week, but have really taken the time to delve back into my greatest hobby, of which I've been neglecting recently. With all the hubbub going on it's been a while since I've sat down and played a game, of any sort, but the past couple of weeks have been fantastic with replaying some of my favourites. Ratchet and Clank, AC: Black Flag, Borderlands, and a much needed reintroduction to my steam library, including Rome: Total War and Star Wars: Battlefront II.

By the way, if you have PS Plus I would highly recommend downloading Cloudberry Kingdom and getting 4 friends together for some insane same-screen co-op madness, like the good old days when you weren't shouting AT each other but FOR each other. Hours pass with good company and good times.

Honestly this last week has been so much fun I've fallen in love with gaming all over again. smiley0.gifsmiley12.gif

The last couple of weeks have been insane for me, I finally heard about my project placement to finish off my masters, I visited my friends back in Aberystwyth to see how their Phds are going, and am hitting the gym almost every other day to the point where I'm actually seeing results!

This weekend was especially crazy, going to a huge Eurovision food/drinking game party. I pulled Italy in the random selection so brought I a huge bowl of home made spaghetti and baked ciabatta, plus enough alcohol to make an elephant catatonic. Unfortunately/fortunately Italy came 3rd, meaning I got a prize but also had to consume an unhealthy amount of said alcohol, i don't think I'll be drinking for a while! We were also granted a view of some exceptional cultural sensitivity from a friend who represented Israel, I'll leave it at that.

Finally good food with friends in front of the Monaco GP, a race that I've never really liked due to it's habit of becoming a bit of a procession, but what an ending! I was never expecting such an obvious error.

Thats all, hope everyone is well and had a good long weekend! smiley1.gif
