So here is how my first week has been going....
Sunday: I went for a run. I gotta say that I love 'Zombies, Run!' app. I was first introduced to it on the Roosterteeth podcast and I have loved it ever since. I love it even more now that it has interval training with jogging, sprinting and walking allowing me to continue working on getting my speed up on my runs. Also getting back into running has allowed me to use my run journal again. I bought it on Amazon from 'Gone for a Run.com' and it's got basically everything: a place to write down things about my runs, races, and even to compare the number of miles I run each month. It is a great way to see my progress in my speed on each run. I ran 2.28 miles at a pace of 11.23.
Monday: Worked out with my Sworkit app which is my strength training and yoga work out helper. It's also got a place where I can program in some exercises so I programmed in my warm up for my runs so I just do it and then go for my run. (Also on a side note Sworkit has mrewards which is a point system which you can save up for gift cards, helps build the determination). I also went for a couple walks, one before work and one at my lunch break. My eating has been going well but I gotta lay off the ice cream.
Tuesday: Another run day, this time around the track. I have to run after work and it's too dark to run outside. I ran 4.3 miles at a pace of 9:46 (I run faster on the track because it's easier to run a flat surface).
Wednesday: I didn't work out, mostly because I didn't sleep well. I really need to remember to get to sleep on time because if I don't I'm exhausted. And I had to sit through meetings all day because there were no kids (I'm a teacher). I had far too much to eat at the potluck lunch and I took a nap when I got home. Not such a good day.
Thursday: A run day! Another track run! I ran 4.5 miles at 10 mph. I'm enjoying running every other day which feels like the right amount of runs plus rest.
Friday: Didn't strength train (again today), but I did go on a walk. I had ice cream and cookies with diet soda but I plan to chill out on the junk food from now on.
Tomorrow is a long run day (35 minutes) and then Sunday I plan to strength train. I'm getting more worried the closer it gets to Thanksgiving and the holidays what with all the food and the treats. I don't want to loose focus!
