$360 for a thousand rounds vs $260 including shipping. I'm happy enough with it that I just bought another thousand. Just in case. smiley8.gif

Must be a small place, because the VP emailed me the next morning to tell me that my ID scan didn't transmit properly. Pretty personable guy. One email later and all was well. Ordered late Sunday night, fixed the picture thing Monday afternoon, and got a shipping notice today.

I don't baby my rifle, that's for sure. You're going to laugh, but one night about a year ago, I was pounding my head against a wall because I couldn't find ammo for a reasonable price. Sounds familiar, right? Anyway, I found cases of 500rds of "Brown Bear" Russian steel-case 62gr .223 hollow-point ammo for a much lower price than anything else. Hesitantly, I decided to buy a case. Then I was gone for a bit and returned to find that no less than 3 cases had somehow been charged and delivered. I was PISSED. I certainly didn't trust this stuff well enough to buy 1,500 rounds without testing first. Thankfully, out of 1,000 rds fired from those 3 cases, I've had only 1 malfunction, and that was a bad primer. Not bad, eh? The only complaint is that it's lacquer-sealed, so you get that shitty red garbage in your chamber after a long day. Oh, and it smells like ass, not the sweet scent of cordite we all know and love. On the positive side, it won't rust like Wolf due to the lacquer coat.

Also here for the same price for 500 ($119.75). EDIT: I just checked and it's about $19.50 to ship from them to me, probably because they're in Ohio and I'm in NC. The place above wanted $33 and change to go from AZ to here. That's something to consider. Also, Cheaper than Dirt used to carry Brown Bear, but when I checked their website a minute ago, it wasn't listed. You could call.

Some people swear it'll jack up your equipment, others swear they'll never touch it. I've had no problems whatsoever. I shoot a RRA Elite CAR-4.

If it wasn't for the fact that I have a 10/22 and I want a house, I'd get a GSG-5. You're a lucky dude, ya know that right?

Oh, it goes, brother. It goes. I made it through School of Infantry(as taught by the Army) and I am a week and a half away from graduation from Security Forces School. Coming back home for a bit here in August.

All depends on what you want to do. I own both an Aimpoint CompM3 (M68) and an EOTech 552. IMO, the EOTech is tops for close-in fast acquisition stuff because of the 1MOA dot and then the 65 MOA ring. It's bright as shit and I've never had it "wash out" like my Aimpoint could in really bright light. It runs off AA batteries instead of those stupid CR 1/3N batteries. It's a little more ruggedized and the lack of a tube means you find your target even faster. I'll probably bring my personal EOTech with me to Iraq if I can't get one issued.

For slightly longer distances (like 75+ meters), the Aimpoint with a 2MOA dot is at least even, and possibly better. I think you can get it for a little bit less than an EOTech, though both of mine are NOD-compatible, which is more expensive. The new Aimpoint M4 runs for like 100,000hrs on a battery--that's like 7 years continuous. It's also more ruggedized than the standard M68. However, it's pretty spendy still--probably in the $700 area. On the washout issue, there's a good trick you can do with the Aimpoint that the EOTech can't do. Keep the objective lens cover on and shoot with two eyes, and you'll have a dark background for the dot while your opposite eye superimposes it on the target.

      I'm rambing. I'm tired. Meh.

Yeah, still got my RRA. I sold the DPMS to bikemancs. I was remarking (more like griping) the other day that I'm spoiled by my trigger, because the piece of shit I have issued makes me want to cry.
