I really need to get myself to an RTX some year!!! I'm heading to Austin in October for Mondocon but that's only because of timing with the other half of my trip throughout the U.S.... which I'm insanely hyped for but maybe RTX 2016 will be the one ! :D

Well it has been awhile since I posted here, mainly because I've been tackling a lot of projects that I had started and planning for others BUT the main thing is that the documentary that I've been doing for around a year has come to the tail end of production.

The production sent me up and down the country filming interviews and slowly making it better and better. I've got 1 final thing to film which are some insert shots of certain venues but that's local and easy to get so I've basically wrapped production and am ready to head into post which will be just as massive.

I do hope to have it out by the end of the year, so hopefully it makes it out then!

I arrived in Sydney with my mum on Friday (Here until Jan 4th) and it has been a pretty awesome time so far. Done some normal sight seeing and shopping. Of course it's nothing majorly different from NZ, just larger in scale in everything possible but yeah it's been a good time away from the norm!

I'll post more pictures tomorrow or in a few days as internet at my brothers place is pretty poor >_<

Well it has been awhile since I posted something but with that said it's because I was busy finishing up uni!

So now that my final year is complete, I'll be graduating in a week and a half which is awesome and then I'm off to Sydney for the Christmas/New Year break with my family, which I'm looking forward to.

Nothing else really, just working on some video projects that I've still got open and trying to line other projects up for next year which is starting to come together.

Next year, I'm looking to travel to the U.S so I'll have to start mapping out that adventure soon! and hopefully I'll be able to score some video/film work along the way smiley0.gif

I might start posting film reviews again, now that I have some spare time and I'm just starting to get through the long list of movies that I put on hold so maybe a few more posts this month ;O

      1luv, Will.

      Hey!

What have you been up to?

I'm thinking about having a Google+ hangout in the near future with a few RT members. So far it's very filmmaking oriented, but we can and will be talking about other things. Are you interested?

Check out my journal entry for more information.

Awesome. I sent you an invite to the group private group I made. I'm trying to get some availabilities together.

Music video? Nice, when will you be able to post it for others to see?
That sounds really cool. I'd like to try my hand at a music video some time.

I've just been going to school and working on video stuff. Just finished up two commercial projects, bought parts to build a new PC and will start editing our shorts. We are also starting pre-production on another short film. Can't stop.

HELL YEAH I"M INTERESTED! Hahaha that would be awesome.

Been pretty inactive on my RT profile lately, need to do a update but I've been bogged down with uni work and video work, done my first music video recently and have a few more lineup which is sweet.

How's things with you? Also drop me the details of the hangout when you can.

I heard a new one came out. I'm a post person too, that's where I started working. I'm really into production (cinematography), but post is home.

I'm really excited to see it!!

Far out... I just finished watching ALL of the production vlogs, so good to watch ! Can't wait for the film now hahaha. Here's a link to the new one, Jackson just posted it an hour ago to his Facebook page:

        www.facebook.com/PeterJacksonNZ?ref=ts&fre...

It's a very good episode imo since I want to be an editor and have always been fascinated in the post production stages of any film. Thanks for reminding me to watch these by the way, I don't think I would have got around to it if you didn't leave the initial comment about seeing The Hobbit haha. Not long until release!

I like how they take the time to explain things and also show they family side of production. Its going to be awesome.

Just watched the first one, will have to watch the rest when I have time. They are a good length as well and not just a few minutes like most production vlogs. Gave me nerd chills seeing those sets again, can't wait for the movie haha smiley12.gif

They shot the whole movie on RED Epics they had a video where they were all lined out on a table and when they were set up. Peter Jackson had names for them all.

I will have to check them out when I can, would be interested in a tech breakdown of the camera, lighting and sound gear used, love that sort of thing haha.

They are really cool and you can see a lot of how they did things on set. But you live in middle earth so it's probably nothing new for you haha. I very much enjoy Pulp Fiction, so glad to be able to see it on the big screen.

      • SliWill

Na, I didn't get around to following it as much as I would have liked. What I would do to see Pulp Fiction in cinemas, that would be amazing considering it's my #1 favorite movie of all time haha, very lucky to have that screening!

      • kylebrodeur

I was surprised that they were showing them. They are also showing Pulp Fiction a few days before the LOTR Marathon lol. The Blu-Rays are awesome so you're not completely missing out lol. Did you watch the production blog videos?

      • SliWill

Nice, don't think any cinemas around me are doing the LOTR extendeds before the Hobbit which is kinda lame but I will be watching the Blu-Rays before I go and see it so not that much of a lose. I will also so the 48fps after a normal 24fps screening on the release night, very interested to see how it looks and how the public receive 48fps, only interested in 3D when it's shot in 3D and not done in post which always looks trash haha.

I'm excited too. I haven't been able to see Skyfall yet, I really want to! I have tickets to see The Lord of the Rings Extended Editions in theaters the weekend before it the Hobbit comes out on the 14th (for us). Besides seeing the awesome Hobbit story in theaters, I'm really excited to see how the 48fps 3D holds up. I'm really not a 3D fan, but I'm told that the extra 24fps will help. I'll be seeing it normal 2D. Back up plan, haha.
