So tonight I went to the RWBY Vol. 1 screening here in Knoxville and coincidentally ran into a meetup while getting dinner. Meet some cool folks and decided that maybe I should start using, or at least look at, the community side of the website again. Which is pretty crazy when I think about it. Red vs Blue use to only be around for a portion of the year but the community was the thing that kept me coming back. I would get home from high school and check the site and forums waiting for the next season to start. Now, I only come here to watch videos early and the live streams... strams? Streams and strams.
So, I figured I'd first give an update on my life incase any one still has me on follow after 6 years of non updates. (Is following still a thing on here? or is it just friend lists now?) Let's just go over the big things. I left ITT because the school sounded more and more like a scam the longer I was there and instead enrolled in a community college where I got a really great 2 year education video production and had a lot of fun. I'm currently working on finishing a 4 year degree but boy is that a real slog. After two years at UTK, I've hardly done anything hands on and honestly feel like I'm losing my skills. You're suppose to go to school to gain an education but I just don't feel like I'm learning anything so I'm currently at a cross roads with my future there. Might just take some time away focus on building a portfolio/resume. I've worked on a few short films that have made some film festival rounds but could use some more beef to it.
Outside of education, I was in an on and off again long distance relationship for about 5 years which sounds like it could be a decent premise for a sitcom that would get canceled in it's first year. Maybe it would get 2 years if it was on Hulu.
About a year and a half ago, I was hit by a car standing while I was standing on the sidewalk, but I am fine and mostly healthy. Just some back/hip pain in the morning if I sleep wrong. The car went off the road after a mid intersection collision, I jumped before it hit me, landed on the hood, then rode it until it came to a stop. So, technically, I hit he car instead of the car hitting me. While we were waiting on EMT, the driver of the car that hit me said "you handled that like a rock star"
And I think that about covers the major things in my life these past 6 or so years. So some good things, some bad things. Such is life. Oh, I never finished that 3rd Phoenix Wright game I mentioned in my previous journal
